Frank was the most comedic rock performer I have ever seen plus an awesome philosopher, guitarist and seer of the future. He has been missed by all of fans.
0 Satire isn't comedy.. its philosophy to laugh about.. .. .. ? and fyi. (lol) Frank's ghost knows we miss him and reminds us that - ''broken hearts are for assholes''🤔😂
I love Frank. He is the ultimate anti-performer. He doesn't have a stick. And whatever he wants to go with at the moment he does so. He certainly works hard and works his musicians just as hard, taking his music seriously, but not himself. Love that guy. RIP big man.
Sheik Yerbouti is still my favorite Zappa CD / album. Not a bad song on it & love the way Flakes goes right into Broken Hearts ... sheer genius. And then right into I'm So Cute. Three classic Zappa tunes in a row!
Adrian Belew originally did the part bc he imitated Dylan once either at the audition or rehearsal (not totally sure) and Frank decided he was gonna work it into the show somehow. Ed Mann does a pretty fantastic job with it here.
@@eddieisadrummer yep, thanks. I've found the story with a bit of searching, sometimes I forget how powerful is the web. According to Adrian Belew it was born indeed while Frank was playing the song for him, but since he couldn't sing and play at the same time the all thing sounded to him like a drunk Bob Dylan, he did the impression, Frank loved it and put it in the song. Incredible.
@@_innerscape_ Plus, the idea of Bob Dylan, hero of the working class, ranting about workers trying to scam him is hilarious. Imagine this middle-class Dylan in his middle-class house having to deal with the ineptitude of most current workers. I never managed to do it because the band folded up, but I had this part ready in the 'voice' and words of Francesco Guccini, which amongst Italian singers-songwriters is probably the most deserving of the "Dylan" title.

In another video he would shook hands with the audience while continuing his guitar solo with the left hand. And all that after the 1971 London incident when he was attacked on stage, fell into the orchestra pit and had to spend a few months in a wheelchair.

Frank Zappa IS among the most misunderstood artists. I am Norwegian. I do not know all irony and stuff but I'm familiar to Frank Zappa's universe. Frank was a gentleman and down to earth. A Norwegian impressario was asked what super star that impressed him the most. Frank Zappa and Diana Ross he said. The impressario asked Frank Zappa what they could bring him. A car as I can explore Oslo. A simple car.
@pilesovinyl I think part of the reason these musicians were so good was Frank. I learned from going to Steve Vai's Masterclass that Frank constantly challenged them with close to impossible music to play.
This version is on the "The Torture Never Stops"-DVD, the 1981 halloween concert with Steve Vai, Ed Mann, and Tommy Mars. The lineup on "Does Humor Belong in Music" is different.
The irony is that I'm jamming to this when I should be working.
I’m getting ready to go out and I can’t stop listening and watching
You should charge double for that.
@creageous These dudes just cost me half week pay for "never flush a tampoon" advice, smh.

He doesn't have a SCHTICK!
When he died, I didn't eat for a week I was so depressed.
Frank was very serious about not taking himself too seriously.
His schtick was being silly.
Some people mistake it for genius.
I love that he signs an autograph while singing lol he rocks
Immediately after, someone hands him some dubious underwear lol

It's amazing how this is still true today.
The musical irony of having an epic and 'inspirational' mood overlaid with lyrics about American mediocirty is pure Zappa genius.
Frank always had great drummers ... spoke to Chad last year at the end of an Allan Holdsworth gig in Milton Keynes ... lovely fella ... very humble.
What did he say?
God, I'm so crazy about Frank Zappa. Pure genius. I'd give my life to turn back time for the world to still be enjoying his amazing gigs.

This is fantastic beyond the power of words to describe. Frank Zappa was so damned awesome.

Sheik Yerbouti : one of the best Zappa's masterpeaces...
great song. great music.
Frank always commanded the best of what his musicians had to offer, and the background vocals are certainly proof of that in this particular video.
I love you, Frank Zappa.... and it only makes me more of a man for it! R.I.P. buddy :')
Love this song.
In 1992 I named my company " Zappa Electronics" because of this song. I used it to be able to buy wholesale. 😊
Pure genius 👏 RIP Frankie.
truly awesome..this is one of my favs..
Frank was so badass. This song is hilarious.
il piu' grande musicista mai esistito.
chad is enjoying the composition
yes I am
One of Frank's very best! Thanks for posting!
I love this song it's funny the way the anti drugs part is sung and when Ray White stares at the camera.
Frank Zappa is ace
i love how at 4:30 FZ actually takes the time to put the cap back on the pen. soooo frank!

Zappa, mon mentor 😍
Ilove Zappa!
I love how he stops to sign an autograph in the middle of the song and doesn't miss a beat. "Like a boss," as the kiddies say.
ya...love it
LOVE IT!!!
I was at this show. classic song. super arrangement. thanks!
The march style of snare on "we are millions and millions..." is very neat. I don't remember to be that way on the LP.
Boy, how I love this man!
So great...
thanks to whoever posted this. My favorite Zappa track. "Well my toilet went crazy........ pure gold

But it's nicely displayed

Crumbles 'n' breaks
We just get on the phone
And call up some Flakes
They rush on over
'N' wreck it some more
'N' we are so dumb
They're linin' up at our door
Well, the toilet went crazy
Yesterday afternoon
The plumber he says
"Never flush a tampoon!"
This great information

Frank was considered left of center, of course, but "We're protected by unions, so don't let it upset you" backs up Scott Walker.
It gets really epic at 4:56 with Bobby Martin's backing vocals!

"I am a moron, and this is my wife; she's frosting a cake with a paper knife."
great performance
At 4:25, he goes: "This song's so easy, I'm going to give this guy an autograph while I'm performing!" XD
