Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! I tried at this video on fox.com, but they don' like Canadians :(! But, THANK-YOU!!! This'll also be grrreeeat for my school's GSA and House fans! ;)
People attacking Hugh Laurie for not being in this are completely wrong, if you recall, before House, he had a TV show with a guy named Stephen Fry called A Bit of Fry and Laurie. They were best friends then and remain best friends to this day. Stephen Fry is gay. Hugh Laurie is not a homophobe or unsupportive, it was likely a scheduling conflict.
@itgetsbetterproject Ciao Amici! Dear friends, Bobby Griffiths' (Prayers for Bobby) onetime lover/boyfriend here, thanks you with all his heart, for all of your tireless efforts at putting a stop to this "Profane" as well as senseless phenomenon! Grazie Mille Amici Belli! Il Suo Amico Blaine
@GoodAvatar : In Finland we have a web-service called "Resign from church" where you can resign from any religion with just couple of clicks. And that service off course keeps statistics of the resigners, so it announces every year how many people have left the religions. That is very handy and people use it a lot. 275045 people have allready used the service, and some 100 people resign every day. And we are a nation of just 5 million people so thats a pig percentage.
If they'd get Hugh Laurie to say this it would still just seem like he's being sarcastic. He may be a nice guy, but the world knows him as Dr House. King of Sarcasm.
@GoodAvatar : This is actually talking. Difference here is that potentially millions of people can read this conversation, and write comments of their own if they are interested. Talking to just one person on the street? That does not compare at all. But I'm sure its fun, so I give it a try if I get a change. I live in Finland so finding a religious person is pretty rare around here.
@bary1234 "experienced old folks" The downside of leaving THOSE people in charge is that THEIR experiences weren't necessarily moral, intelligent or economically sound. They're behaving as though this is the same world that it was 50 years ago.... and it's NOT. The internet ALONE has changed absolutely everything, and nobody seems to have realized it yet, or if they HAVE, it's only in the merest sliver fashion. EVERYTHING can be done online now. That CERTAINLY creeps out the elderly.
@TheSobek P1/2 "it does say in the Old Testament that to lie with man as with woman is an abomination" It says that in the revised versions. There are 17 different translations from the original Hebrew of that verse, ranging from 'Men shouldn't have sex on a pagan holiday' to the a close approximation of the commonly known one today. NO ONE knows the original meaning. But, it is interesting to note that the verse modern Christianity chose was the most damning one. That fact ...
@KennyofME Australian. He's Australian. Unless you were making a witty reference to the fact that House likes to bait Chase by calling him British, in which case... thumbs up, that's rather clever. :)
@polemius01 I don't think anyone doesn't appreciate it, it's just natural curiosity to wonder where the star of the show would be. Most people would assume he would be in it if it said "House Cast."
from the moent on when i was small i was always different not as much as the "weirdos" but still enough to be an outsider. when i was in fifth grade i had o friends and finally found out o had asperger. none of the "normal" kids accepted me and i did not enjoy the company of the "weirdos" so i was all alone. when i came in eight grade my expectations was low on how good my grades was gonna be because of my asperger but i was still better than expected defying what my preset was.
@chasingponies I kind of wonder. Would've loved to see House going "Some of those people are just assholes suffering from a terminal case of stupid. Don't let it get to you, it's only moderately contagious."
Even though i still don't accept gays for religous and personal reasons(plz dont get mad for me stating my thoughts) i dont think people should bully them. My bff is gay and he has had that thought os killing him self because kids were bullying him. So i think the "it gets better " is such a good way to help people be themselves and not be ashamed.
@GoodAvatar : Its a shame off course that we still have lots of people who are subscribed to organised religions, even if almost nobody goes to church or does anything else religious. But when the old folks die out, our statistics will look much brighter.
@stumism It is sad that a post that talks about love and understanding is bringing you guys to fight about the cliches and having such a lack of respect for both countries. I am a proud Mexican, and I have the sneaky feeling that you have never set foot in my country or study its culture... Its sad how are we so quick to judge and hate by ideas born in prejudice. Lets learn about each other and embrace our cultures, embrace our differences and make us more diverse...
@mantisolivares I also read your previous comments and I find it extremely sad that you spelled physiology and immunology wrong. Way to go Mr. I Go To Med School. Oh that's right, you go to Mexican med school, sorry.
@KennyofME No probs. Being Australian myself, I just feel a need to point out a fellow Aussie- especially if he's being mistaken for a Brit. Which is just criminal, obviously ;)
my familly did not care for how much better i was than i actually should have been of the presets and expects always more than i can give, and yells at me for everything. now im in tenth grade. no friends a familly destroying my selfesteeme even more for every day. and i considered suicide several times but im too afraid of pain and violence to actually do so. my life seems to only get more and more crappy for every day and i dont know what to do anymore. so i dont really belive in this.
@robair9911 - I have to disagree. Knowing that someone out there doesn't think you're a little piece of shit that everyone else tells you you are can really do a lot. Considering how up until this point GLBT issues were almost completely ignored, it's nice to know that there are people who you can relate to or at least knowing that there are genuine allies can mean a lot. Also, pessimism is the one the one thing you can do to make sure that it does never get better.
@GoodAvatar : I can understand why experienced old folks feel wary giving up the power for the next generation. Lets hope there are intelligent young people interested in politics so we have hope for good politicians running for office in the future. When we get tax-benefits off from religions we have dealt the killing blow to them. As long as goverment gives them money from taxes (wich is fucking insane to begin with) they can and will survive.
@choirfreak26 I can't believe you got 50 thumbs-up for this comment. As dabudy501 said, he's probably in the UK. He's one of the most hard-working, in-demand actors in the business. You questioning his absence is an attempt to damage the reputation of a fine, open-minded person.
@polemius01 No. He just asked a question. The absence of the main star does look strange. I know that he has nothing against LGBT people but they could prepare this video when he was on set. As you can see many people are asking this question and I bet that it will have to end with some special statement by Mr. Laurie about this. And realy, not every question is an atack. Don't go out and judge people just by one comment.
.. and also, try to stand up for yourself. like the video i'd seen before this, this kid said to the bullying jock, 'kiss me. you said im queer and im a queer and i'll prove it. ' i laughed, but obviously, very admirable.
@bary1234 Yea, I like that Thunderfoot video, too. In the meantime, ACTUALLY talking to people, rather than trolling random comments, is FAR more effective as a method of resisting religion. It doesn't need to be big, either, it just needs to consist of changing someone's mind. Providing a solid and compassionate definition of atheism usually helps (most people can't help their misconceptions... they ARE lied to constantly) AND it's fun!
@bary1234 *nods* Thanks for the concern and the story. Religious desertion will eventually get like that around HERE, too. It's just a matter of TIME. EVENTUALLY people will realize they're being hornswaggled and they'll stop believing and attending church. They're already doing that in mass numbers. So all told, I'm actually rather confident that this century will see the death of organized religion as a political force. Which is a VERY good thing, in my opinion.
@Ryuu44 You are just not getting this. Look at all the thumbs-up choirfreak is getting over his "question." Dozens of people are not happy with the 5 actors who took the time to make this video. No, they HAVE to have Hugh Laurie too. You think that's a fair way to treat the 5 actors who gave of their time? Nooooooooooo, Hugh Laurie HAS to be there too. It's pure greed and ingratitude. My comments are honest. The truth hurts. Deal with it and stop whining.
@AlannaTano two of the? what? maybe he doesn't think this message actually works, and if you think about it, it doesn't, nor is it true. it doesn't get better
This is such a good campaign. If we only could end religions problems like this would not even exist. Superstition is harmfull, we have to get rid of bronze age cults before they end us.
@polemius01 EOT If you're calling ME judgemental after bashing someone for asking a question because you allready knew what that person thought, what were his motives and what were the motives of everyone who gave a thumb up than we can stop now. No reason for me to talk to a hypocrite like this. I was the judgemental one.... please!
@bary1234 "we cant just ditch all old folks" I didn't say we SHOULD, but we should ditch the Gerontocracy. It's time for young politicians who ACTUALLY believe their campaign slogans rather than receive the most campaign contributions from businessmen seeking personal advantage. :-P
@polemius01 Cult of celebrity? The whole idea of this action is about celebritys saying "It gets better." I just acknowledge the fact that other people are "victims of the cult of celebrity" and in this status quo this video would have more "power" in it if it had the biggest celebrity from House. Yet this is all still beside the point because the reason why I even answered you was to say what TheFlamingSparrow said. It's just curiosity and you're building an ideology behind it.
@yurizba I also understand diversity and the fact that we are becoming a global economy. We all have to find our niche or we will fall behind and be looked down upon by other nations. I am not looking down on you as a people, rather: what your country is known for, how far your country has come, and the lack of acceptance within your country. Bigots are far more abound in your country than mine. And a lot more of your people are close minded.
Thanks everyone. That was wonderful!
Thank you you are helping millions of people
I just cried so hard watching this.
This is so sweet.
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! I tried at this video on fox.com, but they don' like Canadians :(! But, THANK-YOU!!! This'll also be grrreeeat for my school's GSA and House fans! ;)
Ohhh I miss them so much!!!!
"There's nothing wrong with you"
Me: Except for lupus
House: It's not lupus!
I already loved the cast of "House." Now, I just wanna give them all a big hug.
A tearful Thank you, Thank you THANK YOU!
Aww, this was cute. And Hugh was in the UK during filming I presume?
This makes me like HOUSE even more!
These things always brighten my day. :D
This makes me cry!
For this, I'm buying all House seasons on DVD
It really does get better :)
thank you
It does get better
Thank You.
:3
God bless you, good message..it's all true
Can I squeal? I have to squeal. This is amazing.
I love how House isn't there xD
"There is nothing wrong with you."
gave me goosebumps
@mantisolivares wow, what a great comeback, im just gonna go home and cry....
i love this cuase i think its lovely :)
awwwwww... I love house, I wanna b a doctor someday and I'm gay... this video and the message really means a lot 2 me. =']
Did you become a doctor?

Same, same.
WHERE IS HOUSE!?!?!?
If they'd get Hugh Laurie to say this it would still just seem like he's being sarcastic.
He may be a nice guy, but the world knows him as Dr House. King of Sarcasm.
Where's House ?
WHERE'S HOUSE?
@GoodAvatar : This is actually talking. Difference here is that potentially millions of people can read this conversation, and write comments of their own if they are interested. where was Hugh?
It would have been pretty funny to hear what Dr. House has to say!
Very cute (:
No Dr.House?
@bary1234 "experienced old folks"

dude..... where's house? :P
I was very happy to find this but doesn't Omar (Foreman) seem awfully nervous?
Talk to someone, a friend, your teacher, your priest or imam...
I was too. Until I realized that he is/was probably too busy beating up the bullies with his cane and everything haha.
@Adelaide471 Oh, and Happy Birthday!
Hey Hugh? Where are you?
@daTruChosen Dude, keep on fighting. You're fucking awesome for that man.
But where's Wilson??!!
Does no one notice that besides House, Wilson isn't there either.
from the moent on when i was small i was always different not as much as the "weirdos" but still enough to be an outsider. when i was in fifth grade i had o friends and finally found out o had asperger. none of the "normal" kids accepted me and i did not enjoy the company of the "weirdos" so i was all alone. when i came in eight grade my expectations was low on how good my grades was gonna be because of my asperger but i was still better than expected defying what my preset was.
Man, this is a great video with an awesome message, but it feels like their giving me a differential diagnosis.
Hugh Laurie is a very nice guy and I see him in West Hollywood once in a while. I'm sure he was just busy.
@iflipped4u he is british.. so he was probably in the UK when this was filmed ..
@canderson2750 So? That's not the point of the video. There are other people on the show that just House.
@chasingponies I kind of wonder. Would've loved to see House going "Some of those people are just assholes suffering from a terminal case of stupid. Don't let it get to you, it's only moderately contagious."
where is the main character... house???
by the way this is a great cause!
Even though i still don't accept gays for religous and personal reasons(plz dont get mad for me stating my thoughts) i dont think people should bully them. My bff is gay and he has had that thought os killing him self because kids were bullying him. So i think the "it gets better " is such a good way to help people be themselves and not be ashamed.
who the hell is disliking this video? Do you hate Gays or just house?
Where is house? lol
@AntiBoarding it is speaking for all of us.
@lukebrux nope, i use reason to heal people
since your sick you don't know your sick but we who are sane can tell
No matter gay straight or bi lezbien transgender life im on the right track baby i was BORN TO SURVIVE
@secretsantaone Like @wittsmith said, he's out there beating all the bullies with his cane
@choirfreak26 maybe he was busy but he isn't exactly homophobic since he is best friends with and work most of his time as a actor with stephen fry
@GoodAvatar : Its a shame off course that we still have lots of people who are subscribed to organised religions, even if almost nobody goes to church or does anything else religious.
But when the old folks die out, our statistics will look much brighter.
@choirfreak. - He's probably out of the country. He and his family return to Great Britain when they are not filming.
The last sentence where it says so is supposed to be and.
That's really his accent
@iflipped4u I can tell you this, it wasn't lupus.
The cam should´ve turned around and Hugh Laurie would´ve been there sitting & listening...
@stumism

@SnDLegendOfZelda It's one of the most amusing topics to talk about. :-D
Hugh Laurie (a.k.a. Gregory House) has a gay best friend (Stephen Fry) in real life. He should be on this video.
