    1990's #102 evo sportster 90ci big bore lowerend assembly motor case machining tatro machine
    just another bail out job from another shop. they got in over their head and call tatro machine for help.
    as you can see this motor had a lot of problems that needed to be corrected or it was going to be coming back to the shop very soon. previous bad machining needed to be corrected. after all the fitments were checked and corrected the 1st shop was going to assemble the motor and bike.
    this motor is 90ci with axtell 3-13/16" + .060 big bore cylinders with the stock 3-13/16" stroke crankshaft.

    Hi Tatro, I just wanted to say thank you for posting all your videos. I really enjoy watching and learning. I have a 1970 ironhead as well as a 83 ironhead and a 96 1200 custom. They’re all temperamental at times and the 1970 I had to completely rebuild. your videos helped me many times along the way. Have a great evening.

    How long does one of these motors last? It just seems like the cases and cylinders are being hacked up to make everything fit. Unless I'm racing it, I don't see the point.

      if built correctly these things can last a very long time. if not, than they will not last either. the same goes for stock motors to.

    Nice new red vice! You're such a perfectionist when truing cranks. I'd be happy with +- one thou. :-)

    The .06 over answers why it wasn't honed round... Crazy. What's the point to that?

    how long did it take to learn how to use that balance machine it looks really hard machine to understand.

    • @TatroMachine
      @TatroMachine  7 лет назад +1

      that is not a balancing machine. it is a truing stand. it shows how true the flywheel assembly is, not balance it. like most things, it just takes practice. that is why i show you how to do it and why i do what i do.

  • @zombietherapy1759
    @zombietherapy1759 7 лет назад +1

    could you machine down the outside diameter of the cylinder, to fit the case? probably a dumbass question.

    • @vector6977
      @vector6977 7 лет назад +2

      no, the case has to be bored, the cylinder has to remain a certain thickness.

    • @TatroMachine
      @TatroMachine  7 лет назад

      no, the cylinders are way to thin already because they are .060 over now. everyone likes thin ass bigbore cylinders but they actually make less power because they flex all over the place instead of sealing the rings like they should. that is why all cast iron cylinders make more power than flexibly aluminum cylinders. no strength.
