I'm impressed by how well you did your research into the makeup of this era! I've done an extensive amount as well, and you got so many details right. The results speak for themselves. I also like how you adapt things or add some modern elements whenever you judge them to be best without losing sight of your overall goal. After all, makeup is an art, not just a science. Thanks!
Brittany Sarah Just watched it and LOVE the look!!! That MAC pigment, NARS lip, your hair, all were so beautiful. I actually have about the same hair color and its just the best. Can't wait to see your other videos of the era's and thank you for linking that for me. 🤗🤘💄
You looking lovely. Rita style suits you. Rita was my mothers favoriteartist and she wanted to look like her But… she had stuff black hair like a horse hair so it was not possible to curl or dye
Nope... There was photo retouching since victorian era. They scratched, painted and smoothed the negatives to hide blemishes, freckles, moles, fine lines and other "imperfections". You can see the before and after of a Joan Crawford photo if you want to, It's so easy to find in Google , It's a interesting and very artistic method ☺️
@@Dulce-mn1zr I was also shocked to find out that beauty businesswoman Helena Rubinstein's photo was retouched by Cecil Beaton to make her look younger for an advertisement (you can find this online as well). First time I realized they retouched photos back then. I shouldn't have been surprised, though, since my grandfather was a photographer back in the 40s, and I'd heard how he'd retouch photos to add color, emphasize eyelashes, remove things, etc. I just didn't know whether the practice was widespread and how much they were able to change.
Wow Pretty but work on your voice! My grandma is from then...she said VOICE is something they WORKED ON...pretty Is as pretty Does! voice & attitude most important...makeup & hair is the wrap.
1940s is my favorite decade! I'm excited to see 1930s and 50s! 50s is when you get to have fun with some eyeshadows and dramatic winged liner
Aww I'm glad you like my videos! I can't wait for 1960s :)

Ohm...havent seen blemishes on the face on pictures in the 40s....dont u think its maybe because the quality of the photos were taken that time...?

@@streetofdreams4538 it was common and widespread. Used throughout Victorian photos too.
i loved this video but your intro of you just putting on lipstick and floofing your hair at the camera lasted 38 seconds lol
