Cheers Adam, I wasn’t that bothered about it. If I had been attempting an activation of a new island it would have been a bit frustrating. I will make sure I don’t do that again by replacing the BNC with a PL259. A friend on our club’s 4m net suggested I make a list but every time I go out my kit varies so much so not sure it would work as I tend to decide what I am doing last minute. Oh well, nobody died😃
@@2e0wmghamradioandkayaking85 after a few hiccups I started taking a small bag of various adaptors and accessories with me so I've always got what I need just in case, I'll have to show that in one of my videos the gear I always have with me when out and about.
That is bonkers, I’ve never done that. A few years ago I walked almost five miles from Bournemouth to Sandbanks then got the ferry to Brownsea Island and walked another half a mile or so, went to set up on the beach and realised I had left my coax back at the hotel so packed up and walked back. An almost ten mile round trip😂
Oh no! Poor you. I went out /QRP yesterday and forgot to take any support for my roach pole. It ended up being held up entirely by the dipole! Still worked 4 countries on 20m!
We’ve all been there before. When that happened to me, I cut the connector and stuck the bare wire into the so239, and enjoyed my rf burns while the tuner struggled and a limped and made a few contacts, then I went to amazon and bought a bag of spare adapters lol
I know exactly how you feel 😁 done it myself a few times before, at least you remembered to take the radio.

You are in good company. I know a contester who went all the way from Newbury to the Isle of Wight... but accidently left his radio a home! 😂

@@2e0wmghamradioandkayaking85 😄 Well, at least you got some fresh air and good exercise! 😀
That was a shame. I bought a kit online to keep in my radio bag. Liked the video anyway! 2E0WYR

Yes, sometimes the situation is recoverable, not for me on this occasion. I still enjoyed myself so all was not lost.
Impressed by how little swearing occurred Kevan - cutting room floor? 😂
I did call myself a few things but only in my head so not out loud😉
Never mind, it happens, still enjoyed the video 😊
Thanks Steve, I got a ride on a ferry and some fresh air, all good…

I never thought of that but I wasn’t that bothered, I just cussed a few times and laughed it of😃
