The dramatic moment that a giant 100-foot sinkhole suddenly swallowed the centre of a football pitch in Illinois has been captured on security cameras.
The pitch in the city of Alton, which was built above a limestone mine, is often used for children soccer practice, however fortunately no one was there to witness the collapse.
All local sports at Gordon Moore Park have been cancelled following the sinkhole, which appeared on Wednesday (local time).
