Whatever i think of Hyundai, i have to give them credit. They have at least made Genesis visually appealing in terms of interior and exterior styling down to the rims. Even when Cadillac was charging high prices for their performance line, their interiors looked cheap at such a high price point.
The Genesis brand is a hidden gem. The German rivals, although good, do not stand up to two key tests. Depreciation and reliability. If Genesis can keep quality and reliability high, they will chip away at the European rivals.
I would not call Genesis reliable in the long term. All the tech will break, I promise. They’re highly complex. Hyundai engines are not known to be bulletproof.
😂😂 can y’all stop the reliability cr*p lol, NO ONE, I MEAN NO ONE that has a BMW or Mercedes buys it, they lease it and give it back and get another new one! The percentage of people that owns a German product outside of a lease is low!
The other problem is there’s just way too many German cars on American roads. An E-class is about as common as a Camry nowadays. The exclusivity is completely gone. If I want to stand out, I’d buy a Genesis.
So are we going to overlook that this thing trapped 13.9 @ 102mph in the quarter mile!?!? With that height and weighing over 5,000 pounds.... that's impressive for only 375hp!
Will Genesis consider revamping both its lineup and naming convention? Is the upcoming GV90 EV-only or will there be a separate gas-run GV90 that will come for the Mercedes GLS, Lexus TX, and BMW X7?

these tablets screens are ruining interior designs, looks so cheap and out of place. like someone just tried to retrofit a tablet from amazon that doesn't belong to the car
Too bad it's a Kia/Hyundai. After a series of misfortunes with their motors (which they still produce and have issues with) along with the less than stellar customer service that came along with those experiences, never again will I consider their products.
Nice vehicle, good value. …..but am I the only one jarred by the “fish hook” tattoos on the testers hands while on the steering wheel?! It’s as if Motorweek stopped by the nearest prison, and an inmate did the test! 🤷🏼♂️🤔
Nice to see they have physical buttons for the HVAC but that screen is obnoxious, dumb looking and distracting to use. You have to take your eyes off the road to swipe thru a smudge covered screen filled with needless flashly graphics like an idiot untill you drift into oncoming traffic and die.
The only 2 knocks on this brand is the unknown the dealership experience and long term reliability. We will learn that in the next decade as get more data. What we have today is just gorgeous internally and externally.
The engine technology is very old and out dated. I have had issues on my vehicle. And I got mine at 68 k and thought that was pricey. 80k? I wouldn’t recommend this vehicle from experience.
Funny my boss has the same engine in his GV70 3.5T and he's already driven more than 130k km \ 80k miles and he only had 1 problem with one of the coolant hoses. I drive a stinger GT with 3.3T and had 1 problem with the thermostat that got replaced under warranty. Go and pay 20% more for a 🇩🇪 luxury suv because they never break right😂
Yup! These look good but Genesis vehicles earn a zonk for outdated powertrains. If I were buying I’d still go with Lexus so I can get a hybrid and technology that I can trust to “just work.”
Dead. They’re dead. Every day, the automotive world gets worse. Even if EVs disappear, we still have increasing crappiness and screens in interiors in ICE cars.
Hyundai must be paying for these marketing nonsense "reviews". While purchase and service experience is rubbish at the Hyundai dealers and prices are too high now making the value proposition extinct.
What didn't you like about this review? The 5.6 sec to 60? The 1/4 mile time? Or the fact that it handles parity well for a large SUV? Have you ever driven a genesis product before? People like you like to complain about nothing. it's Makes you feel important 🤭
John Davis still going. What a legend.
Benz owner here, seriously thinking of switching!!
You wouldn’t have been able to afford a Mercedes-Benz in 1986 so be glad you live in 2024
The most comfortable luxury car
Becoming more and more beautiful....
One of the few SUVs that catches my eye and I would buy.
Whatever i think of Hyundai, i have to give them credit. They have at least made Genesis visually appealing in terms of interior and exterior styling down to the rims. Even when Cadillac was charging high prices for their performance line, their interiors looked cheap at such a high price point.
all junk, nothing appealing about it
i couldn't agree with you more on that.
AND don't forget the SUPERIOR RELIABILITY and WARRENTY you will get with the Genesis!
Yeah, forget the reliability. It doesn’t exist.
I have one and I love driving it. I know now why tiger woods survived a rollover in this car. It’s a solid suv.
That accident pushed me to buy it. Had mine for a month and definitely can say I prefer it over a German car
The Genesis brand is a hidden gem. The German rivals, although good, do not stand up to two key tests. Depreciation and reliability. If Genesis can keep quality and reliability high, they will chip away at the European rivals.
Genesis had the resale value of old milk. Reliablity has been hit or miss and the germans have scored better. Stop making things up

@@KhrissyDaDon the funny part is genesis now scores below average for quality

If I want to stand out, I’d buy a Genesis.
Wow , Beautiful luxury suv !!! So modern !!!!
It’s the Marshalls of luxury cars. Nice
They have perfected the luxury car for the non-car enthusiast.
I can agree with that
not bad, not bad. at least its worth the wait for a refresh for this Genesis GV80 utility.
So are we going to overlook that this thing trapped 13.9 @ 102mph in the quarter mile!?!? With that height and weighing over 5,000 pounds.... that's impressive for only 375hp!
The 2025 Genesis GV80 is a nice-looking vehicle both inside and out! If I was in the market for a luxury SUV, I'd have this at the top of my list.
I wounder how it would test out in snow and ice??
More presence than a Bentayga
Classic review from a classy guy
1st youtuber before RUclips 😂
If you had a few drinks you would think this was a Bentley Bentayga
Will Genesis consider revamping both its lineup and naming convention? Is the upcoming GV90 EV-only or will there be a separate gas-run GV90 that will come for the Mercedes GLS, Lexus TX, and BMW X7?
Not bad at all.
Awesome

Good luck with depreciation!
At least it will be affordable used.
As with any manufacturer at this price point to be fair.
Going from a 4 banger 300hp to a V6 375hp is not much of an upgrade
these tablets screens are ruining interior designs, looks so cheap and out of place. like someone just tried to retrofit a tablet from amazon that doesn't belong to the car
A big problem for Genesis is their appalling customer satisfaction rating. J.D.Power ranked Genesis last in 2024.

Can you make a road test to porsche macan electric

I agree. I previously owned a Genesis G80. The customer service and the trade in value is horrible. Never again.
ador questa macchina. non il 4 cilindri
Front end rips off Acura.

Totally agree.
Probably the only help they could find nowadays.
Work release
Wow talking about bias lol
Lots of people with tattoos have never been to prison. How snobby can you get?
Wait two or three years and buy it used for half off
I'd take an MDX S

I give them credit it is faster than a mid 2000’s manual transmission v6 altama
I appreciate the unbiased review. But, it's still nowhere near the other brands quality or customer support network.

These plastic pieces of crap all look the same to me. Where have proper vehicles gone? 😔
Dead. They’re dead.
