There's a reason behind the over priced landcruiser. His wife probably said he has to sell it and he did his part of putting it on market place not his fault no one will buy it. Smart move mate! He will be wheeling for another few years
You're an ideas man, mate. Perhaps that's what I'll do if I put my 80 on Carsales...good thinking pal.
Sounds good 🤣
i dont let anyone tell me what to do
This covid tax shit has to stop, I'm running short on 80 series panels. If this continues, I'll have to stop bashing into shit.
repair and weld your panels - that is their advantage ;-)
😂 LOL
i refuse to buy into the covid tax market so im sticking with my rear wheel drive avalanche till prices go down lol. im new into overlanding and im getting far enough away from people here in cali. i do need a rear locker though lol.
Mate you’re bashing a gold mine
Nar you’ll just have to stop replacing the panels SEND IT
We should have a fund raiser for Graham and Shauno so that they could finally afford a set of earbuds each, poor guys have to share one now.
🤣😂 haha
🤣🤣
And then he realised they are both left ones 😂
😅😅😅
ha thats gold mate
That 65k 80 was still for sale last week.
I'll stick with my 14k one and keep adding to it.
Go the 80,s
Great work legends
Have you seen the 80 on there for $105K? Has an LSA motor in it - but surely the bloke is taking the piss
Based just off the title, wait 12 months till everyone who bought a 4wd during covid starts going back to bali and sells their car for bintang money
Exactly, same goes for boats, jet ski's, caravans and camper trailers.
And I look forward to that.

I'm calling it a night, nothing will top this comment
What id love to see is you guys taking someone who hasnt done any 4wding on a epic 4wding trip and show them the ropes.
I hereby volunteer to take one for the team and offer up my services to be the 4WD 24-7 Gumby. I shall promise not to soil the passenger seat of the 30, D-Max, Luxy, Darryl or any vehicle I'm lucky enough to ride in and will soak up the knowledge like a sponge. I might even provide some entertainment for everyone else watching me try to consume Shauno levels of chilli.
And absolutely Awesome to hear that Nixon is responding well to his treatments. I wish him and his family well and thank you to everyone who chipped in.
@@andyroo8592 I vote for this guy too !
Take @mightycarmods
@@postiepat1541 yes definitely take @mightycarmods that would be an epic collaboration
I'd voluinteer for that, I've never been before and want one so bad. Finally got a job after 8 months unemployed due to pandemic and starting to look at landcruisers to get one in a few months.
Hello! It wasn't just Australia helping that little Hero, you guys reach o lot further! Cheers! I work in Afghanistan and do my 4wd in Cape Verde, and I love to watch you guys!
I own a RHD 1hdt 80 series in the US because of you boy's. Love the channel.
For sale: 1989 blue on silver GQ TB42 carby, 530,000ks manual been in 1 family for last 25 years, zero rust (for real). 1st to see will buy.

Will swap for a W1 Holden

Does it have a silver ARB bull bar?
Cash n hand mate, cash n hand
Oh yeah nah!
Imagine the people that watch this and see there car up there over priced ahah GOLD!!
🤣
They are worth what the are worth at the time! If people have the cash to splurge than why not, a lot of people may be struggling with the effects of lockdown, especially in Vic! Glad my GU wasn’t put up haha
Some people who sell their 4wds are dreaming with the price sometimes
@@tylers4wheelinadventures279 Agree, some are just taking the piss!!
@@phatboi8709 Did you achieve the price?
I know it’s probably not everyone’s cup of tea, but I would love to see some more aus solo. Even if it’s graham in his own GU on his own channel. Also kinda wanna see Kaitos new SAS hilux
He’s got a sased lux now ?

Finally someone saying something about these ridiculous prices 👌🏽 One of the best episodes (beers in the shed) so far!
I agree it’s good that they have spoken out about this.
So many people will have butt hurt after this vid, please keep making more like this haha
Na keep it going, I'd like to sell my 4wd for double one day haha
Im a 80 owner in the US, maybe I should just sell it in Australia lol.
@@carsenfzj805 no one want petrol ones herd mate
@@stream445 I have a 1HDT here in the States. The prices for mine have doubled in a year. I’ve been offered $40k usd for it.
Oath they will. If you own one of those cars they pointed out, you’ve technically been publicly ridiculed.
Dec 2019 - picked up a v6 petty mitsubishi delica with 120,000km for $10,000, now blokes are selling them for $15-20g with 300km, I mean still worth it for a bang bus
A few months back I got a 1995 V6 petrol triton for like $500
The 4jj1 in the later rodeos, rc Colorado’s and early dmaxs have to be one of the last true bullet proof engines and come in some of the best value for money rigs, surprised more people don’t notice.
We do, but look at how many KMs are on those rigs. In my area guys want just a touch over $20,000 for one with 280,000km. Anything under $17k has over 350k on it, as reliable as they are every vehicle needs maintence with those kms.

Love watching the videos all the way from a very small country in Central America, El Salvador!!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a comment from central or South America!!! Great videos gentlemen :D
Come for a holiday in Australia bro
That 80 is almost a collector's item and a good example but still a bit steep even though they are one of the best made ever
it seems that I've had a luck, 10 days ago bought 96' 80 series 1hd triple locked for 12k euro it was owned by 2 guys before me.. also to mention in complete stock form
When dose shorty get to meet the dirty 30 would make a good trip

You guys have excellent chemistry! I came for the first segment but the editing banter and segments made me stay for the whole video. I actually really enjoyed it. Subscribed !
The HDJ80R Sahara in 1997 was $114,220 new!
That's so cool. Good on you Nixon! (His Mum and Dad are rock hard) I can't imagine having to go through that.
It takes me about 5 minutes and a cup of coffee before I can understand what the hell you guys are saying.... then I spend the rest of the day saying Petrol and “give it the berries “ and calling everyone Mate in my best Australian accent.
You can turn on the subtitles like they did in Crocodile Dundee..😂🐊
Maaaan i’m not English native and is really hard to understand their accent
LMFAO 🤣😂
@Chris R. lmao. Guy makes me feel like I have Tourette’s. You ever see the documentary where he restored a WW ll airplane?
@Chris R. I’m in Oregon.... from New Mexico
I feel like those solid front axle vehicles aren't going down in prices because they're going extinct. Thank god for the Jimny though.
As far as solid axle rigs more are being converted to sas in the U.S. because of strength and reliability. I have two that I'm looking for axles for now. Plus gearing for larger shoes.
Up the Jimny!
I've ordered a new Y62 as I couldn't justify the used prices. The issue is I ordered in November last year and I'm still waiting.
same here 😂 we were looking at buying an 80-100series but the used prices were just too high! Ended up getting an Isuzu MU-X tour mate
"I'm just gonna say up front, this is not my first beer of the day".......we know Shauno....we know...
Drinking game, take a drink whenever someone says mate
Ah that’s awesome to hear Nixon, great job 4WD 24/7 👍
Your right Graham, I have a 2010 Dmax and love it, no plans on selling it for a long time.
Loved it. The same thing is happening here in the US. Older 4WD's are going through the roof. Makes me thing about selling my 80 Series, but then I sober up and come back to my senses.
Yeah, i feel like the older (pre 95 ish) 4wds won't be dropping too much in price, they've gotten to that classic car age and demand for them is increasing as most have now rusted away and they are the last of the simple, rugged and easily modifiable 4wds made.
Also i had no idea you guys got 80s series Landcruisers in America, they must be pretty uncommon i assume.
I bought a 1993 80 series just over 500,000 kms on it one owner, not alot of mods for 5k
4 years ago I bought a 60 with a rebuilt 12HT, rear locker and some bar work for 3k and hasn’t let me down once
That's a deal even back then! They've always floated around that 10k mark
Never seen a good 12ht for less than $10k, and I've been looking since the late 90's
My dad had a GTR-XU1 Tourana, pissed him off that he sold it for 39k when he coulda sold it for 2-300k
Made my day boys, I forgot it was Thursday!! Got me laughing gear wrapped around a dozen beers at once, going for the Shaun level of cooking for the family tonight!! Good onya boys!!!
I reckon just taking a mate when viewing a vehicle can just be that voice of reason ya need to stop one jumping in and making that impulse purchase.

I picked my 90 series prado for $3k, just over 300,000km on the clock, rear locker, 32 inch muddies. I bought it during COVID best buy ever.
Am i the only one who had a deep feeling in my chest seeing that we helped that much for his treatment
Shout out to the editor who caught Grahams reaction to Shauns "sliding through my DM's" 28:08
Bought my first 4x4 Last summer, a lifted and freshly painted 2002 D22 Navara with 33s on it for just 7000€. And I got spareparts with the car for around another 2000-3000€ 😁 Love it! 🙏🏻

Graham: facial expression says it all
OMG Shorty is in the background what a beautiful 4wd it is
Got my 1998 FZJ105 2 years ago for $6000 fairly stock and in pretty good condition. I see them now here in Tassie going for 12 to 20k. Glad i got it when i did :-)
I got inspired watching your show and bought myself Lexus lx470 and went with my Family to Robe South Australia after Graham suggested .

Bought a prado 90 petrol with trd supercharger with alot of mods for 7k, perfect for weekends and long trips away . Very reliable car 👌
man im watching this and hearing all these prices, i almost forgot these vehicles are in australia. thought they in nz coz they cost bonkers here as well
That Nixon story is amazing! Great great work 4wd247 and wider community.
I loved seeing that the fundraising was a success which makes my little contribution count for something, thank you from BC, Canada, to everyone who supported this family however you can :)
Yeha seen that 80 series on carsales the 60k one, it's when your missus wants you to sell the car but you dont actaully want to

Once overseas travel starts back up, prices will drop hard!! All these people paying top dollar will be crying then haha

So glad to hear Nixon is doing so well! You guys are legends for helping him and his family out! Can’t wait to see your reunion with him when he’s healthy and back in AUS! Keep plugging away Nixon you’re a legend in your own right!
Bought my Mrs a Mitsi Mirage to learn to drive in for $400 found in the front paddock of a property west of Ipswich. Oil change, cut and polish + rego and she did 2 years learning and resold for $800....gotta love bush buys! Keep your eyes peeled.
Make jocko do the thousand dollar track in tassie, I'll even bring my pajero to pull him out of the mud.
What’s everyone’s thoughts on a factory turbo Gu patrol for 19k? 12mm pump and 18g ufi turbo.
Only downside is pillar rust and rad support rust.
11months ago I purchased a 2017 79series dual cab, lifted, dual batt bull bar side steps, 70,000km for $65k. Today’s market a similar vehicle are selling for $90-100k. It’s ridiculous market, it pushes insurance costs up. Good video guys! 👍
Dear Mr Jocko, I know it's a bit of a long trip, but the one I always approached and backed out of is a little number just out of Brunswick in Western Australia called Bobs Hill. The only time we drove it was with a crew of Competition rock crawlers, (3 zuke sierras on GQ diffs with commo v6s, twin transfers external roll cages and the like) and even then ended up on their sides/backing out. Recommend waiting for some rain!
Hardest track in Australia? Obviously it's '6 Stage' down at Nowra
I've always fancied a 2013+ FJ Cruiser as a weekend weapon but the only ones worth buying atm are asking more than their original sale price🤪
The price is a double edged sword. I own a 2014 TTSE I bought right before Covid and the dealership offered me 2,500$ over what I payed for it last time in. They just keeps going up in value 👍
Great to hear Nixon's story. To see everyone standing together to help is amazing.
I bought my first 4wd this year. I had my heart set on a dmax and had $33k cash ready to go and the one I found had around 50 thousand kms and was like brand new. The salesman said with the shortage of new vehicles they no longer negotiate on used vehicles so I forked out an extra 5 grand. $38k for a 2014 dmax with 50k kms. More than I originally wanted to spend but got the exact Ute I wanted and I couldn’t be happier with it
I've seen that 65k on sale for ages
That's good news :DD
let's hope it never sells, or else it gives other flogs stupid ideas
Last year in June, I purchased a 2012 GU Wagon with the ZD30 Engine. 2nd owner, had 100K on the clock. Owned by an old fella, completely immaculate, $25'000
Yep, same here. 2012 manual ZD, bought in 2018 for 30k with 81 thou ok it. Worth it I reckon, it’s a great car!

Gotta hold onto my 03 ZD for another 12 months it looks like
Yep same here too. I bought a 2010 GU ZD30 35's lift kit bullbar uhf roof rack and 200k for 16k

I love your videos of watched it ever since you came out we have like 50,000 DVD I just love what you do my dad got a land cruiser 80 series mouldy valve and we just love what you guys do
I got a 2013 D40 Navara with heaps of Mods , bull bar, snorkel, lift, draws, UHF, spot lights, canopy, LRFT, winch, new Tyres Bridgestone 697s, for 25k with 147 thousand K's. I just love it.
When we went on our honeymoon to Mauritius in 2007 there were SWB Y61 Patrols everywhere. Having a Series 3 LWB 4.8L at the time I wanted to take one home to Perth.
6 stage yawal has got to be one of the hardest tracks out there
The thing i want to know is anyone paying these prices? And by the way someone should do a comparison on boat prices.
A helpful hint for people looking for an awesome rig in the states, you can buy a hummer H3 for around 4-9k. Depending on the package, you can get one with front and rear lockers or just rear locker for the same price range. Usually pretty well maintained and will go about anywhere off-road. Best unpopular off-road rig ever.
The more casual stuff from you guys is awesome.
80s, GUs and GQs are so sought after now that it’s become a sellers market.

Edit:
XU1 torana’s were and still are legendary, my dad tells me stories if drag racing his mates and other fullas over St George bridge heading towards bollon.
The cops would sometimes see him fly past and they couldnt care less cause they were sick of pulling him over🤣 aslong as you were over the bridge and not annoying anyone they werent bothered.
Cracking episode, great seeing you back in the shed.
Hey guys, great video and yes the current 4wd market is crazy. Now I live on a farm in western Victoria and the farm backs onto the Bigdessert wyperfeld national park, so lots of sand etc out here. Just purchased an old 2nd hand Nissan Navara ST-R ZD30 dual cab for work around the farm and head out back of the farm from time to time. I got it for just under 10k and is all original and with a complete service history and one owner and well looked after. Now I hope it is good and will keep the services up to it etc. As for the underside of it, no bashes etc only dirt etc from dirt roads and tracks. Engine, gear box and transfer case are all smooth. Anyway, keep up the great videos and stay upright out there.
Bear with me here
Pajeros are actually very good value
welcome to the problem we have in the US, almost every 4x4 is severely overpriced.
And with severe maintenance costs also. Almost all used 4WDs need an overhaul especially if they’ve been put through the ringer.
Do you know how many Prados, jeeps, pathfinders, and pajeros have never seen more than gravel roads? Just look for one not lifted, factory size tyres, no bull bar, and no rail damage.if you are looking for a cheap Landy, it's not happening. Just saw a 2009 repairable write-off go for $35,000 last week. Land cruisers are just too dear. Better options out there
Thanks for the video, I am going down to have a look at my 80 series again, and maybe hire someone to guard it :). Bought it during lockdown, 96 Model, HD-FT, factory fitted triple lockers, manual with 350K KM for 10K!
Hey guys love the show!! You have inspired me to get the Patrol up to scratch to tackle the Cape! Getting the Fulcrum 2in lift and big bore suspension kit next week, question I wanted to ask is would you recommend tackling the Ole Tele Track without diff lockers. Next mods is install a Runva winch & custom tune & exhaust. cheers fellas!. BTW love the new coasters got me 3 of em.
