    Hi Babul, I will be cooking this one next weekend. Can I just ask re the onion paste? Is it simply a blended onion or do I need to add any other ingredients? Regards. Kevin

    • @TheBengaliCook
      @TheBengaliCook  2 года назад

      Hi Kevin, thanks for asking, with this recipe I just blended the onion into paste without adding anything extra maybe a dash of oil to help the blender. Enjoy and thanks again bud 🙌🙌

    Hi if I can’t get the Tamarind pods how much tamarind paste would I use?

    • @TheBengaliCook
      @TheBengaliCook  2 года назад +1

      Hey thanks so much for asking, so on this recipe I used about 4-5tbsp of tamarind diluted pods, i would use about 2-3tbps of tamarind paste to start with and then add more if needed. Hope this helps 🙌😀

      On this video I was showing how to make chicken pathia from scratch, due to some request. At the restaurants we make it with the base gravy and it’s a lot quicker 😀😀

    Nice one !! could this recipe be multiplied by 20 times and use pre cooked chicken ?
    Let's pretend there is only one curry on the menu and I changes regularly , instead of making base gravy, could this just be scaled up instead ? if so I assume that would work with all the one style curries you do ? use the one pot recipe as the base sauce and have pre coked chicken ready to go .....

    • @TheBengaliCook
      @TheBengaliCook  Год назад +1

      Absolutely mate, you can scale it up. Make the sauce then add precooked chicken. You can apply this method to all curries, make curry base then add the pre cooked chicken. 🙌

    Oh right I’ve just heard other people mention onion paste just presumed there was other ingredients added to it rather than just blended onion👍🏻

    • @TheBengaliCook
      @TheBengaliCook  4 года назад +1

      Mark Garner Normally it would however as we are making this dish from scratch the onion paste will get fully caramelised and all the flavours it’s needs. BIR some would pre make the paste as they need get the curry out the kitchen asap.Thanks again and enjoy, look forward to seeing some pics of the chicken Pathia!!

    Chef, you mention 'mix' powder...but what do you mean please as I find this somewhat confusing.....Do you mean your 'mix' powder, as in your own recipe? (coriander, cumin, turmeric, garam masala and chili powder)...OR...a standard bought make, such as Rajah, Heera, TRS of mild madras curry powder, ..etc etc

    • @TheBengaliCook
      @TheBengaliCook  Год назад

      Hi thank for you asking, mix curry powder BIR version here is my recipe for it ruclips.net/video/UIyW5-5oi4M/видео.html
      You can also use the ready made mix curry powder from the brands you’ve mentioned but the taste will differ slightly. Hope this helps and thanks again 🙌
