What do you see in Kebede's form?

      Good analysis.
I see the same Ethiopian basic form where they barely move their upper body side to side. Besides, she lifts her shoulders and hands too high, almost punching herself.
Also, she's one of the rarest women with big leg muscles that run long distances. Maybe it's because she has short legs, so she has to push a lot to keep up with the competition ... or maybe she lifts weights.

It can work for the hands to be so high, @musclelessfitness2045. It really is a different way to run, but it's viable. However having the shoulders high is not a part of that form, and it definitely does not help performance.

Do you think the same after Sutume won the Tokyo marathon? This girl is undefeated and has beaten 4 of the 6 favorites (Hassan, Obiri, Wanjiru and Beriso) but is not selected in the top 3 Ethiopian athletes for Paris Olympic marathon. That seems crazy...

Listening to your analysis in real time is so informative! It’s really helpful to break down what you are looking at and hone my own observational skills. I hope you make more videos like this. Thank you!
