Conner just turned on the jets in the last mile. Such a stud. My favorite part was the end when all you could hear was Conner running. Dude can fly. Great workout for all 3 guys.
Modern Day Pre-Fontaine. Gutsy. So determined. This race simulation sort of reminds me of Mantz’s 2 NCAA XC Wins. I wish there were 5 or more slots for USA Athletes at the Marathon Trials but unfortunately we may only get two. So many well deserved runners competing. I can’t wait for the action to start.
So inspiring! Thanks so much for sharing! Easy for us mortals to assume that you guys are superhuman, so its refreshing to hear that it takes a lot of preparation, trial and error, and even going into a race and packing it in at mile 15, but gaining experience - it’s the process, for everyone! No shortcuts for sure! Such an awesome video and so happy for you guys! You’ll make us proud in Paris! 👍
Great video thank you. But can someone explain to me please. What is the point of having run the Olympic qualifying time (2:08:10) if you still have to be Top 3 at the trials? What if the top 3 at the trials all do not have the OT qualifying time? If it is a tactical slow race why would it make sense to send the winners if you have way faster runners like Conner and Clayton who would need to stay home?
You still need to have the Olympic qualifying time. So say if the winner ran 2:10 and that was his best all year, he wouldn’t be able to go because he doesn’t have the qualifying mark. If it’s a slow race even if Mantz finished 5th he would still go unless 3 people ahead of him have the qualifying time.
@@warrencox9825Actually that’s wrong. In the Marathon the US is allowed to send the top 3 (up to 3 depending on how many athletes we have that qualify with either an A standard or top 65 world ranking) from the trials as long as they have run the Olympics B qualifying standard of 2:11:30. It’s quite confusing but right now Mantz and Young are the only 2 with the A standard and there are no other athletes currently in the top 65 in the world rankings so the US can only send 2 as of now but it can be the top two at the trial who have a qualifying time of at least 2:11:30. It’s possible that we could have another slot open up by someone like Scott Fauble moving up the rankings after the trials or in the unlikely event that someone new runs a sub 2:08:10 at the trials. So even though these two are the only two with the A standard if they aren’t top two at the trials they could be sitting home during the Olympics while a slower runner is running thanks to a spot that the US only has because of these two guys. It’s all about being ready to go on the day of the trials. Good Luck to Mantz and Young, I’d love for them to be rewarded for their efforts in Chicago.
This a fast workout and the guys are doing amazing job. But why are they running side by side? why cant they help each other and tack behind each other and conserve energy?
That last bit with just Conner running and no sound was incredible. Dude is a machine he really takes it to another level.
Amazing workout by Mantz. He just proved he's gonna win the Trials, and I expect he'll do it in a huge PR fashion. Should be an exciting race.
Nothing is proven until the race is done.
Wasn’t a PR but a very good time for those trials
The boys just came in 1st and 2nd. Way to go Conner and Clayton!
Great race. They killed it
Fascinating that these athletes can run at this pace for such a long period of time. It blows my mind.
my glorious goat conner mantz in another video
You commented this yesterday too lmaooo

Nah this has to be one of the craziest workouts I've ever seen, breaking 4:20 after seven miles at 4:40 is ridiculous
What did you expect, he was the fastest American at the 2023 Chicago marathon?
You can see it in Conners face. He is serious 👍
It has felt like forever since we had a workout Wednesday
Gordon has several over at @TrackAllAccess
So happy you guys are feeling great!!! So many are rooting for you! You inspire everyone! Go go go!!!

Conner and the guys are looking good👍
And this strategy is exactly how the marathon went. These boys opened up like crazy on that last mile !
Holy moly they are fast.

Broooooo 4:19 last mile?! Wtffffff
Congrats guys. You deserved it. Hope US can unlock the third spot and yall can rock it in Paris.
Fueling is the most annoying part for sure but definitely an essential component of proper training (and racing).
Excellent video Flotrack!
conner has got mental and physical strength
Run run a 4.19 mile after already running 7 miles at like 4.40 pace is absolutely insane
Dangerous speed ☠💀
How often do you guys do strength workouts...???
This a fast workout and the guys are doing amazing job. But why are they running side by side? why cant they help each other and tack behind each other and conserve energy?
To make the workout harder so the race is easier? Would be the most logical guess.
Does Mormonism give you super powers?
Connor could go top 10 at Olympics. Dude is strong. Getting on podium will be hard as Easy Africa will dominate
Tryna compete with Gordon
light 4:19 at the end 😂of the
How did guys run 2.08s in 80s in flat very much non carbon etc etc trainers ?
Track All-Access is better
Cool. Another faster than marathon effort. I predict a blow up of epic proportions
This aged well as 2 of them won. 🤡🤡🤡
@@Tritiuminducedfusion yeah, I was wrong 🤷🏼 Young looked great. Mantz was bonking at the end but kudos to them
take the music off
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
I met Conner Manzt
Wow. Conner is a shy boi, huh.
Rupp is done.....💩💩💩💩💩💩💩
Lmao
In order to be an elite runner you have to talk without moving your mouth.
too much thinking,....... just run & have fun. Remember Americans were running 2'08-2'09 almost 50 years ago without Vaporfly.
well if he can pull off this estimated pace, he'll have a new American record
No no they weren’t loll 😂😭💀
Horrible take.
