Since I was harsh last time, I have to say this video was very well made and put together. Kudos to your team giving us such a high quality video with the best runner in the world. This is the type of stuff that will actually push our sport forwards!!

That's an insane workout at sea level, never mind at Flag. I can't imagine he's anywhere near recovered after only a minute on those 400s. A workout like that at altitude is downright panic inducing as you try to catch your breath. I guess that's why he's the Olympic champion. In any case, really cool to see Jakob on WW and to get this level of insight into his training.

By the off chance this will be seen by the man himself, I just want to say thank you for being my idol for the last 7 years. When I didn’t want to go out and put in the work you were my motivation and when I almost walked away from the sport completely, you and your family were a reason I didn’t give up because I too have that dream to be the best one day. I thought this summer I would’ve had the chance to finally meet you and tell you in person at the 1500 final this summer in Paris but things didn’t work out as I had thought but you know I’m very happy you’re still striving to be the best and hopefully when you’re time is done I’ll be the one to take over the world. I would give up my life here in the US and go to Sandnes to train with you guys so I have the chance to be the best in history but to also learn more about the discipline. People tell me I’m crazy that I’m rooting for you and not the team USA members but it’s just because youre a big reason I believe in myself even if everyone thinks I’m crazy for the way I think but I truly believe in myself that I will make it one day and make my dreams come true! Keep up the great work and I can’t wait to see you rock this season. I believe in you and am one of your biggest supporters all the way!!! Thank you for everything !

Whenever I have to go for a run in the morning there are 2 stages. 1. where I feel terrible not wanting to move out of bed feeling sad and thinking is it even worth it? then there is a second stage and this starts when I complete my morning run, I would be smiling, feeling so happy relaxed, everything seems more beautiful from birds chirping to people walking or running, the smell of the air and the feel of the grass, the sun on my face and the chillz of the morning cold air. Endorphin is magical.

Yep Time (of lap) indicates the external physical load, and blood lactate indicates the internal physiological load, those parameters are important for obtein the optimal load session... especially some internal load current parameter.
Another important factor, Jakob is using a potentiometer that is neither Stryd nor Run Scribe 20:25 ... Another way to collect external load data (watts). In addition, it uses a brachial heart rate monitor.
Science Exercise = Big Data Exercise, nothing is random.

It's interesting to watch this training method. In HS we'd run 5-6 800s around 2:20 pace. I wonder how much better it would have been to run 400s around 1:06/lap.

Absolutely amazing workout. I wonder what the rest was in between I’m assuming it’s probably not that much based on his level of fitness

I've seen some impressive workout videos of Nico. It would be nice if Nico, Colin and Abdi and maybe some of the other guys could come a few blocks across town and learn something from this.
