    thats a tough workout i did a 4x250 7 minutes rest and fell off a cliff at number 3 at 29/30 second pace loll ill try this one and report back .

    Coach tell your athletes to bring water with watermelon or lemon in it especially on hot days take small sips. No eating three hours before practice you will lose your lunch. Take care of your body it will take care of you. ps at 67 I’m still doing track work outs .. Much Respect keep on training,,

    My 3 sons 10/7/6 thought today’s track meet was a social event and didn’t think I’d mind. I shut it down after listening my jump and 100, told them to pack it up we're leaving. Went to the track back home and they did, 1600/2x800’s/3x400’s. Next time they will mean business instead of looking at butts beautiful women.. smh

    Your boys are spoiled back in the day doing 24 23 low 22 on dirt track throw up and still finish the work out. You got to leave everything on the track in practice, Meets are fun.. Keep training..

      You were not repping 6 23’s or 22’s with 2 min rest. I think your dirt track was a little shorter than 200m.

      @@Grayk-ge5vo usually "dirt tracks" are 175-190 meters and old heads swear they were the fastest men alive but never showed up in meets.

      doing it for 200 or 400m is very common. Countless pros and D1 athletes can make it look like this. but do it for 800m and now you got one hell of a challenge

    Hey , track athlete here….. 200s gone get you no matter the pace. You can run them In 34 seconds and you’ll still die if you run 6-8 with only a 2 minute rest

      34 seconds is 100% jogging, and if that has you on your back maybe you need to train more consistently.

    I don’t agree with this approach. He is a high level athlete and responds differently. If he were doing well, he would have been keeping up with Hudson-Smith and others

    Some 800 meter runner at 1:41-42 level can run all day at that pace.

      @@MrPanggs Of the top 10 800m runners of all time, TWO have a PB under 45, and one of them is Amos with a 44.99. So no, hardly any 800m runners can break 45 in the 400m. The amount to which middle distance runners overestimate their sprinting abilities never ceases to amaze me.

      ⁠@@MrPanggsI just fact checked Josh Bodert, he did his research and is correct. For example, David Rudisha has a PB of 45.50 in the 400m and Wilson Kipketer hasn’t gone below 46.85.

      I agree. Considering that they're able to recovery/rest by sitting down rather than a recovery jog. To their credit, it's the first workout after the weekend. Who knows what they did on the weekend. Ha
