    Fun fact: Shakespeare's acting troupe didn't actually use complete scripts. Everyone was just given their cues and individual lines. And they rehearsed like once. So in a way, this is a return to form.

      Seriously! He didn't focus on making sure the plays he wrote were attributed to him because the money was in getting people into your theater to watch and enjoy the show, not proving that you own a thing.

      to be fair, that is kind of Benvolia's role in the story, from what I remember at least. it's been a while since I last read it. and surprisingly we haven't been forced to read R&J for any of my Uni Classes. We've mostly done superior Shakespeare stories like Macbeth and Othello.

      And the worst part is that Friar Lawrence is the one actively pushing the really silly plot come the later acts, given Romeo and Juliet’s desperation, so he really could have been considered to have done “too much trolling” towards both the Montague and Capulet families.

      So fun fact. It's common in acting practice to have the actors hold something, as people can more easily get into character, and feel how they should move around. Many characters hold things differently. For example, playing a crazed character they put more movement in the hands.

    So fun fact, the actors of various theater company’s in my area get together for “Bard in the Yard” where they get drunk and run through a play unrehearsed. A few months ago I got to attend their Vampire-Capulet, Werewolf-Montague rendition of Romeo and Juliet and that and this video both had me rolling. Bard in the Yard was in a backyard with the classic dialogue, but your modern slang on a stage was murder on my wits 💀😂😭 I was not prepared, right away just “why don’t women want to sleep with me? I mean girls, I’m thirteen”
