      @valken666 4 года назад +23

      You don't represent your entire gender. I'm the same as you, to me no is no. Yet, I've met many women who said things like "why didn't you try harder?" or "are you gay?" when I took them literally and moved on. There are entire cultures where the man is supposed to not take a no for an answer, Korean culture is one of them. Europeans, usually from the center or north of Europe, usually take the no literally. I've never heard of a German or Finn continuing advances after a no, though there are certainly exceptions. This cultural shock is natural in America since so many cultures mingle here, but it's easy to understand once you're exposed to other countries.

    • @DellaWatson-cz3mq
      @DellaWatson-cz3mq 4 года назад +4

      @@valken666 I must agree, I've came across females that have told me stories where they've used the famous line, why didn't you try harder, but the person they say that to is not usually a virtual stranger, its usually someone that they know, who then suddenly starts showing an interest romantically... I'm shocked about what you said regarding entire cultures having the belief that no does not mean no though... I didn't know that was a thing, I mean, how annoying must that be

    • @valken666
      @valken666 4 года назад +10

      @@DellaWatson-cz3mq I have no idea about it being shocking that entire countries are like this, I didn't immerse myself fully in those cultures to know what happens. I know that in Korea a woman will refuse a man for a good while before she accepts him, it's like a ritual for them or something like that. If both parties are expecting this, then perhaps they're in agreement, I don't know. Some western girls I heard complain a lot about dating males from countries like Japan, that they're very possessive, etc. But I would never have any interest in a female that thinks like this. In my opinion, it's a kind of mental illness. It also promotes rapist behavior in males. The women who said those phrases I mentioned weren't very close, just acquaintances who perhaps loved me from afar. Anyway, when a woman shows no interest in me I just leave, this "no means yes" culture is disgusting in my opinion.

    The letter from josh reminds me of an ex boyfriend of mine. When I enlisted in the Army and went to basic training he would send me letters calling me a bitch and unworthy of love and now that he had his “strong head” on his “strong shoulders” and that I was going to miss his “rise to success” and the blanket I made him from scratch and box full of letters with small gifts I’d left him weren’t enough. I broke up with him obviously. He was controlling and emotionally abusive and it was slowly edging to more physical abuse. If I didn’t want to get intimate he would kick me out of his parents house. No, not any religion. We're not hearing about men who feel empowered to subjugate and dominate women because of their belief in Gaia or Zen Buddhism.
      Faith doesn't improve things. Genuinely and strongly believing in the dogma that tells you you're superior to women, more righteous, or will be rewarded in heaven for your actions can make things much worse.

    i’m back here at these videos🥰
    I have right temporal lobe epilepsy and my memory from the last few years has completely vanished. I’ve been listening to the book by Greg Olson called If I Can’t Have You. after about 75% into the book. i guess i didn’t read the full title correctly and missed the “a story of a missing women and the death of her children” At this point in the book, i had no idea the boys would end up killed. It was at that point i had a glimpse of thought were i said to myself ... ‘wait.. have i watch Stephanie’s videos on this already!???’ and fell into this weird déjà vu place where i had practically finished a book about a subject i had already spend about 3 hours learning about.
    One of the good parts about missing my memory, and the fact i cannot retain any memory, makes for an exciting time when i get to rewatch or re-listen like it’s the first time all over again. i’m excited to hear you retell Susan and the boys’ stories again!❤️💞💞

    You did a very well at explaining the LDS church. Thank you for being respectful and doing thorough research for this video. I love your channel and the quality of the videos!! Glad I found it! My sister went to church with the Cox’s and remembers the Sunday the Cox left church when their grandsons were killed. Such a sad day! I look forward to more videos.

    I commented ages ago asking you to cover Susan Cox's case and I recommended Cold and idk if you saw my comment, but I'm so glad that you covered it! I followed the case from the beginning and I remember how shaken the community was (I live in the area) when Josh committed his final sickening crime. I've only just started the video, but I'm sure it's as great as all your other videos! 💕

    The effort and time you put into your videos is astounding. Each one is like a documentary. You keep me engaged the whole time with the way you talk about the cases and the people involved, nothing is tedious or boring and everything feels relevant. I appreciate all the little details and anecdotes and points that you make an effort to highlight and when you link things together or talk about someone’s behaviour and think why that may be. Not only do you tell it in an engaging way, but you do it respectfully and don’t over dramatise. Your videos are some of the best on RUclips!

    I just want to thank you for these detailed videos. You’ve made many cases that I thought I knew inside and out even more interesting. I just love the amount of research you do!

    I usually don’t “skip” the ads so the content creator can make as much money as possible per video but recently, these ads are over 2:30 mins long!! 90 secs is acceptable, but c’mon, UTube!!!

    You’re my go-to when I need to get work done around the house, I pick a video of yours and grab my earbuds and I can do three hours of work without getting bored! Even if I know plenty about a case, of you make a video on it, I immediately click on it because I know you’re going to work your magic and give me thrice the information I already had. Thank you ma’am!
