- Yeah so I can't count to 10! But here is 11 affordable keys that are easy to get!

They definitely are! Especially those Transformers comics with the, Jim Lee covers. Love Transformers and Jim Lee! I do need to get my hands on a few copies of X-Men #221 & a few more copies of Amazing Spider-Man #316.
I've ended up with a few of those Jim Lee covers now. I love them and will be getting them signed before the end of the year!

Nice choices! I honestly feel the XMen #1 Claremont/Lee will soon be in demand. Those covers with Jim Lee art are just too iconic, to ignore.it’s also a zeitgeist of 1990s era comics.

I liked what I read of Letter 44 as well. I actually took it to one of Charles Soule’s signings and he was really thrilled that someone actually brought a copy. You should also check out his other image book 27 as well. Very underrated.
That is not one I have heard of and I try to read everything he writes! I am loving Curse Words as well.
I found venom lethal protector 1s in a dollar bin. I bought all 7 of them

I was born in 1981 and we used to be able to find stuff like Lethal Protector, ASM 300, etc. in bargain bins all over the place back in the late ‘90’s. The movie thing really has been a game changer in terms of value.
Oh yes! I was in shock seeing prices on these books that I thought were a dime a dozen!
Lol. It’s so true. I can’t tell you how many conventions we went to and saw ASM 300 for 5-8 bucks. New Mutants 98? No one DREAMED of paying more than 20 for that one! I have one, and only one, friend who has kept ahold of ALL his stuff from over the years, but holy crud, the value of his collection has legit skyrocketed because of some of those books.
I just literally bought New X-Men 115 after watching this. I've seen other collectors have this and show it off. I was kind of shocked that it was that cheap to get. Should get hot since I've been seeing a ton of cosplayers dressed up as her lately and due to the next movie coming up. Thanks!

Great video. I love these kind of videos. Made me target a couple books to put on my radar. Had to laugh at the Green Lantern book currently MIA. Could talk volumes about those books..... such as, even though they sold a TON of Spawn #1, I think lots of people got pissed they didn't instantly increase in value and might have trashed them. Also as I understand it, the NEWSSTAND version is currently pretty pricey in top condition. Hope the new movie does the character justice - it should now that CGI has caught up with the pages. Only thing that might sink it is if McFarlane ego gets the best of the project. I love me some TM, but his ego is his biggest asset AND detriment all at the same time.

That is very true about the newsstand editions. I have not been able to get a Spawn 1, but I have gotten ahold of a newsstand of #9, first Angela. As far as the movie, the more I hear of it the less enthused I am. Its sounding more and more like a movie i'm just going to wait for video release.
I have Spawn 1 and curse of spawn 9 but not the news stand version. The cover on yours looks cool!

Jessica Cruz has really grown on me. I am a hugh fan of Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby's work is cool too.
The Green Lanterns rebirth series with her, is what got me reading DC recently! Seriously amazing character with LOTS of potential for amazing storytelling.
The very early Alpha flight and New Mutants comics were some of my favorites.

Spawn first appeared in a magazine comic. I forgot what it's called. it's not the first appearance of spawn. U can pick it up for a dollar in the comic store. U can find spawn comics Just a dollar a piece. I always hated Todd McFarland art. I'm surprised watchmen first app. Is still in the dollar bin too. First bloodshot and first ninjax is still in the dollar bin too. I think they should go up too. Those 3 should be alot higher
I can definitely see bloodshot going up soon, since there is a movie coming. Ninjak will probably follow.

I just grabbed my missing issue of Spiderman 1, Todd Mcfarlane's first series as lead... cgc 9.8 signed by Todd and Stan Lee.
Not a crazy valuable book (yet!) but it's the flagship of my fledgling collection! Very proud of it!

Dam I wish I could find all my old comics, I had quite a few on your list. I am surprised spawn #1 isn’t worth more than it is... I still have that venom too... What about some old He-man comics? I have several #1 issues of motu from the 80s
I haven't looked into them, but it would not surprise me if they were worth a few bucks!

Venom lethal protector has gone up in price In anticipation of the movie get your copies while you can now. With no grating could fetch you 40-50. Grated I have seen it more than 120.

good list, the Spawn animated series was bad ass. i remember picking up that Venom: Lethal Protector, my brother has a gold foil cover.
I still love the animated series! And hearing about that gold foil makes me jealous! I want one!
i wanted to ask you, do you get comics from stores, sellers, lots with price stickers on them? if so do you take them off and how? gold foil Venom does look great, glad someone in my family that also collects has one.
I am happy to say I've never had to deal with price stickers directly on my comic. So I've never had to try to take one off. Still though, I don't think I'd attempt it unless the book has a plastic type cover, like chromium it lenticular.
you are very lucky then, i know Half Price Books does that. 1 of my local shops puts the sticker on the plastic at least.
Oh yes i've heard of them. I would only ever by trades from them that I do not care about. Same with Amazon, never know when a seller is selling an old library copy.

If you want a graded 2.0 or 1.0 you can get it for under 10k!!!!

Nice list. But the way you slam those books is exactly why I don’t buy raw. Strictly graded. “Signed by McFarlane”... no certification?🤨
It's the reason you should use proper fitting bags and boards. You don't have to worry then. As long as your not throwing them across the room or buying trash protection. Buying strictly graded you're missing out on some gems.
Met Todd McFarlane, got books signed. No reason for certification, they are mine, I have the personal experience (and video proof), no plans on selling them.

Yeah that is his first cover appearance, he also appeared in an ad inside Rust #1 that pre-dates that book. But allot of collectors don't put any weight into cover and ad appearances.

“Affordable keys” is an oxymoron. If it’s a real key, it’s expensive.
Not sure why you think that. There are tons of first appearances, which are considered keys, that are not very expensive.
You can get the first appearance of Lobo and Apocalypse for under 50$, hell under 30$ if you look hard enough. Those sound like keys to me. Darker image 1, under 10$, first Maxx, sounds like a key there. Youngblood #2, first Prophet, under 5$!!! Lots of examples!

I agree with everything except the Mcfarlane trash. Spawn is a chractet made up of 3 separate Marvel character's. Plus the guy is not fan friendly.
Wow sorry to hear of you had a bad experience with him, I can relate with others I've met and weren't very happy with. But I have a quick video of when I met McFarlane. He was a very happy and friendly guy. I guess everyone just has bad days.
