Had Blue Devil issues #1-#6 was just wandering how much they would be worth? Dont remember what i ended up doing with them. They didn't make it through my party years '91-'97.
Remlik103 ha. Give me some time. I’ll have one for you by the time you read this (Or shortly thereafter) If you have any suggestions for topics I’m def open to hearing them
I had the issue of green lanters where he went nuts and the cover was hal looking maniacal while holding rings in each finger. The book comes with a great cover but when you open it it has a complete second cover inside as if they put two covers together . Neat book.
J Garcia . I find this so weird. I get the "lower print run" argument, but to me I value the 2nd print lower than the first as the second prints to me is roughly equal to value determined from the combined print run. I guess to me it's kinda like how 1st edition books are worth more than later editions/printing.
Robert T It used to be that way with comics. Back when these books were actually released, having the first first printing was the highest of demand and secondary printings were reserved for random grab bags you could buy at Toys R Us or the supermarket. But now because people see them as rare variants and few people collected them back in the day, it just adds up and makes them worth much much more to today's collector.
Don't worry, you're not missing out on any value. Whoever posted this video does not know what they're talking about. Please see the post I just left in response to this silly video. Newsstand copies, especially from the 90s, are not worth what some misguided sellers think they are.
@@robertt9342 Your way of thinking about comics is CORRECT. Whoever posted this video is under a misconception that 'newsstand' copies are automatically worth more b/c of their lower print run, making them 'rarer.' But this is not necessarily true, especially with books from the 90s. Please see my recent post on here explaining the misconception of newsstand copies.
I wasn't a skater, but pegged my jeans and rolled them up so my neon blue socks with my red high-top chucks unlaced were on full display. Girbaud jeans were the best for this, as they kind of tapered from baggy to a relatively slim ankle. Anybody remember wearing those really long and baggy button-up Ralph Lauren Polo shirts (a print or a madras pattern) worn out so they reached mid-thigh?
Justin Jones I would just like to say I totally agree with your statement, what’s wrong with just collecting comics for the enjoyment instead of now having antiques dealers even getting in on the act pushing up prices cause your comic has a different bar code.
Lennox Braithwaite . Most of this is built on speculation and gold rush mentality. It requires the recruitment and indoctrination of new blood. Eventually there will be a hard limit, and if superheroes fall out of favor, a decline leading to collapse of the non-collectible titles.
Justin Jones I always collected comics since the 70's as a child. The 90's where insane. I collected them for the pure love. But someone put an idea in everyone's head that they were an investment. That's what killed it.
I don't have the gold Spider-Man Torment but did find the regular issue, still sealed in a factory bag, at a flea market for $20. I can't tell which printing it is without tearing the bag open.
How have you being doing since then. Im quite new to the hobby both reading and collecting. Quite overwhelmed with watching a lot of videos where people kind go into dollar bins and pick up keys. I also am having the dilemma of should I just be picking up keys? or should I read first. I read digitally . So should I go about reading digitally and then if I like the series pick out the keys that I like and overtime I will build a wealth of knowledge of which books are keys ? and then will also have the ability to bin dive and find keys ?is that the secret?
That Batman 457 is very special to me...i was 12yrs old when it came out and still have it. I was a big Tim Drake fan after Jason died and remember him putting on the Robin costume on that issue...thats nostalgia to me. I had no idea about this New Robin Issue and the UPC....regardless of the price which i will never pay...its just the story alone thats priceless!
I just rediscovered those; I found A Death in The Family in my collection, and after reading that, I had to re-read Batman Year Three and then "A Lone Place of Dying" series. Now I'm about to read Batman 457, to see Tim Drake as Batman for the first time. I haven't looked at these comics in years, but they hold up surprisingly well (especially the ones written by Marv Wolfman.)
Holy crap I know I have copies of the Batman and the Robin #1 comic. I am going to have to pull my Batman long box to see which issues I have. I always assumed second printing comics weren't worth crap.... I now eat my own words wondering how many of these I have passed up in $1 bins not realizing this. Thanks for sharing.
You are CORRECT. Second printings aren't worth crap, especially from books published in the weak-ass 90s. Whoever posted this video is under a misconception about 'newsstand' copies. Please see the response I posted to this video. I can't stand when speculators who know nothing post this kind of misinformation to comic fans.
Hey Nick! Love your app. You don’t have Batman 459 newsstand “000” error listed in the app. Does it have any specific significance or should it just be lumped in with the direct edition? Thanks!!
One of the raritist variant Nick is the New Mutants 98 Australian variant 1.50 newsstand cover. Only 9 on the CGC census as a Teir 1A book.. Very tough to find. And there was only roughly 3,000 distributed to Australia when NM 98 came out in Feb I believe. But this cover has a May cover and inside the first page on the bottom.
Thanks for the info Erol. Itll come in useful when we add the foreign variants to Key Collector. I could use as many foreign issue advisors as possible to start gathering info on these issues. nick@keycollectorcomics.com
Thank you for this! I discovered I have the Robin #1 newsstand edition 2nd printing in my collection. I have the other dc comics, too, but I have the common variants (e.g. Batman 457, direct sales with the 000 indicia.) Still, though, pretty cool to know that a comic I bought very many years ago, bagged and boarded and boxed and forgot about, is worth something. Again, thanks for this video; made it easy to figure out which variant of the comic I have in my possession.
I have every cover of Spider-man issue #1, except the platnum cover. All my copies are signed by Todd McFarlane the same year issued. Im now real curious of their value.
Thank you for your reply! yeah, mine has the Spidey head. but still values around $120. Do you have any idea what a non personalized autograph adds to the value? I have a handful of McFarlane sigs. Also X-FORCE #1 signed by Rob Layfeld and Spider man #16 with X-FORCE signed by both. Any info is very much appreciated! I'd like to add... I'm glad YT put this video in my recommends. im looking at the values of some of my comics. I'm starting to realize, I made a good investment. in the 90s, all my paper route earnings, went towards SEGA and Comics. Great time for both. THANKS AGAIN! New sub!
Channel ZERO the Spider-Man gold book isn’t worth that much. On a good day you might get $15 for it, if it’s in PERFECT condition you might get $40 if you wait long enough. If you get it graded and it comes back 9.8 you could get $100. Signed, maybe $100 more. Personalized signed? That’s not the best thing unless you find someone with deep pockets who is also named channel zero. Thanks for subscribing. Not sure if you mean to the app or to the channel or both. If you log your key issues into the app and reach out to me I can tell you what’s going on. I’ll look into personalized signed books too. That’s a good question. One more thing, I think it is a good time to sell if you have some of the secondary keys of a character like Venom. Amazing spider man 298 299 316. Lethal protector. Valiant it’s a really good time to sell. Sega assuming it’s sonic might soon be time to sell if the movie hype is any good when they start marketing. You can email me through the app if you want me to take a look at your collection after you go through it. Tap Menu and you’ll see my contact info
heyy nice vid i was wondering if the 1st all new collector’s itemsilver version on spiderman is worth something or if you think it will be worth something one day?
I was reading that there is a variant where some issues were printed when the yellow ink ran out so the lizard inside appears blue instead of green. The "blue lizard" variant will be more rare and have greater value. I checked my copies and sadly he was green AF😆
That’s cool and all but unless it’s some special cover I’m not much on picking up 2nd printings. This kinda reminds me of error packaging on 90s toys they aren’t worth what they were going for.
Subbing to the app has been the best thing ! Youve helped me better understand the way of the hunt and be better educated when i hit my shops. Youve even saved me a lot of money and headaches with the price guide under the keys listed. Bc i know now if its worth to purchase or not
Erick Morales thank you for this! It means a lot to know you are happy with the service and it’s doing what’s intended which is to add value to your collection. Really thank you for taking the time to comment so kindly.
If you're lucky, you can sell each for maybe $10 a pop... Please see my recent response to this silly post. Those 4 books are practically worthless in terms of collectors' value.
I used to have several issues of The Sandman #1 signed by Neil Gaiman which I got signed at a huge Comic-Con event back in the 1990’s but I traded them all years ago.
Key Collector Comics Me too, Although when it comes to collecting valuable comics I usually go after Golden Age comics (1938-1945) rather than modern ones myself these days.
cha5 sure...understandable. nearly everything golden is valuable...of course keys being exponentially valuable. i dont cover modern comics only though, in case there was that perception. Just had to get that out of the way
Thanks for sharing on how to spot the key issues from the group of four. Are you going to more videos like this in the future? BTW I use your awesome app (free version) when out hunting. I need to make the leap and subscribe.

If you have a SIGNED copy, it is surely worth something, maybe $30-$50 bucks depending on who signed it. But without that signature, that book, and the others discussed in this silly video, are worthless. You can easily find them all in regular back issue bins for current comic cover-price. The McFarland Spiderman may be going for $20 or so in mint condition. Please see my longer response to this dumb video post.
You didn't mention the 000 error on the Batman. I have that but it isn't 000 or newsstand. I do however have the correct Robin #1 and it is still in the bag.
I love the app and use it all the time. Just now found you on youtube this video was amazing and very helpful. I have to go through my collection and check each of these books now to see if I have any of the good ones. I hope you will continue to do more videos like this one to describe what to look for in certain issues to determine what makes it more valuable. Thanks.
I now feel ill, lol. I know I had the Batman issue and quite possibly the Robin issue that met the criteria. Unfortunately, I sold my collection for $200 dollars a few years back. I didn’t think many of the 90s comics would be worth much. Oh well...
No Holds Barred where does it say it needs to be in red or that it says “robin rises”? Are you using Key Collector Comics? You can email me with a picture nick@keycollectorcomics.com
@@KeyCollectorComics it doesnt say it now. i swear it did because i have that book and i thought it was the wrong one because is said robin rises in red. i shouldve took a screen shot because i didnt think it was right at the time
No Holds Barred the information hasn’t changed. I would know since I handle it myself and I can tell you with 100% certainty that it never said “robin rises” in red.
No Holds Barred it happens to all of us. No worries. But I’ve had multiple people find copies before the video From the app so I can assure you it’s been that way. Maybe you’re thinking of a different comic
I was a very big colletor from about 85 to 97 and had these comics. I bought every print from news stands to grocery stores and my subs at comic shop. We had to get a storage unit and place we chose, the owners were crackheads or something and auctioned off all our stuff because they mistook my account for someone elses. I fucking told them that my comics were worth more than they knew or would think. OMG if I ever see that guy again I'll break his neck.
Don't worry, the book is largely WORTHLESS as the secondary market is glutted with copies of them. None of these four books featured in this silly video are worth much of anything. Please see my response to this video posted earlier today.
I remember I saved my allowance to buy the first issue (1st print) of DARKNESS from image. I felt like I bought the coolest comic book. And out of the blue it was ripped into into shreds inside the trash can.... till this day nobody knows nothing. Sad day
Is it beter to sell now or wait? Feels like certain comics like "The Infinity Gauntlet" would be on a high value right now. I'd imagine, its down hill after the moves run thier course and interest dies down. Should I sell or wait another 30 years?
Channel ZERO that’s a very difficult question to answer because it’s so broad. First of all it depends on what you have and what condition it’s in because if it’s only common issues without significance chances are there isn’t going to ever be a market for them. This is a crazy time for all of this because what is a dollar book today is a $100 book tomorrow and a $5 Issue the next day. So if you have valuable collectibles are you in need of that money? That’s a rhetorical question. If so, then yes now would be a good time to sell, get your books graded and start putting them on eBay. If you’re not in dire straits, waiting another 30 years would be the best case scenario. The movies aren’t going away for a long time, especially with the success they’re having, the talent the movies are attracting and the advent of streaming media needing source material. I believe there will be a lot of dollars trading hands in the smaller press independent realm soon. We’re already seeing these properties getting optioned left and right: gideon falls, body bags and a few ones coming up I haven’t been green lit to talk about yet BUT Key Collector Comics subscribers will get the key alerts before media does. Yes that was a plug. And true at that. The bottom line is if you can wait then wait because everyday these books are dying They get lost, tossed, destroyed by fire, water, kids, puppies. Speaking of kids, tomorrow’s nostalgia is definitely being built today. Look at what a lot people, comic book hobbyists in particular, start doing in their 30s and 40s. Once they have a level of success they become the largest demo of dollars spent on Comics. I don’t mean the highest average sale but collectively the biggest spending group. So the kids that are obsessed with infinity wars or avengers today will be looking to reclaim that part of their childhood 20 years from now even if the movies bottom out. Guys my age went through the worst emotional rollercoaster in the 90s when the comic market saturated and crashed but they came back and are still trickling in. I’m sure that was way more than you cared to read but hey, when given the stage...
I honestly have 3 out of 4 of those comic books. I don't have the Superman comic. I collected them as a kid. I left them at my parents house when I moved out and my dad refused to give them to me later on saying that "I might lose or ruin them". Now he doesn't know where they are cause my mom put them somewhere and they can't find them. I haven't seen my comics in years. Smh
I made it to 3:31 before I gave up and turned it off, you should seriously consider buying a volume knob for that single speaker or whatever it is that you're using !
Sorry about that. it was an editing issue that i became more comfortable with on the next videos. I know its annoying. Even more annoying that RUclips discontinued the ability to edit volume after its posted.
I bought for original copies of The Walking Dead from 1989 one through four comics I was wondering how much those are original copies of the first ones
Don't listen to this fool. The Walking Dead from 1989 is from Aircel comics, written and drawn by Jim Somerville. Issue #1 sells for $25-$50 in NM. There was #1-#4 and a "Special Edition" that came out in 1990. Issues #2 & #4 sell for $25 in NM issue #3 sells for $80 in NM. The Special Edition? Not so special after all, only sells for $4.00.

I would be surprised if these small differences in covers will result in long term value. Real value comes from the rarity of old comics that survived WW2 paper drives or just the treating of comics as entertainment and not an investment. First issues, First appearances, key altering events are more likely to have value.
You are absolutely right, these four books are worth no more than maybe $40 combined. Whoever posted this doesn't know what they're talking about. Please see my post above on this
CGC census numbers are pretty messed up because they don't always break out issues with newsstand variants. There are many cases in which they label both versions but do not even specify a difference. It is difficult to determine whether a newsstand version is "rare" by using CGC census numbers. Even if there are significant differences between the newsstand version and the direct market version - early Image comics come to mind with Shadowhawk having a foil cover and a 2.50 cover price, and the newsstand version having a regular cover and a 1.95 cover price. The biggest reason that these UPC versions are rare is because of the minimal print runs they have - something I don't think you've touched upon in your video. In most estimates, the newsstand version is only 10 percent of the entire print run. Second, third and fourth printings are even more scarce because of this "allocation" problem. It would be very informative for your subscribers if you were to research the newsstand numbers for Image comics. It is even more rare to find newsstand versions of those books.
dashrendar99 thanks for the comment. It’s not my model to communicate scarcity via the app but to help collectors identify what is valuable. Those might be scarce issues but also they had massive print runs during that time and the characters, for the most part, don’t have the popularity that Spawn (a valuable newsstand variant) might have. The market determines the value in my opinion but I’m always willing to reconsider or look further into anything I might have overlooked. You can email me at nick@keycollectorcomics.com if you’d like to discuss further. Thanks for your comment!
Don't worry--these books are WORTHLESS! Whoever posted this video is under a misconception about 'newsstand' copies. Please see my extended response to this silly video post.
This is kind correct on the barecode but there us some like the new uncanny xmen 2018 have barecode say it the 9th printing but it not it was first print
Wow...I have two of these. The Batman with the introduction of New Robin, and the Spiderman cover. I had Todd McFarlane sign the Spiderman variant. I think I need to go browse Ebay. I guess these were good purchases...30 years ago :) Thanks for the video!
Whoever posted this video knows very little about true value when it comes to comics. I am not an 'industry insider' or anything like that, but I have collected comics since I was 11; I'm 54 now. The Superman, Batman and Robin issues can easily be found in regular back issue bins for $5-to-$7 bucks a pop in good condition, and the McFarland Spiderman can be purchased for $20 or so, though some retailers may try and jack the cost up to make profit. The misconception here is that some sellers believe that the 'newsstand' copies of a comic are worth more because newsstands haven't existed since the mid 90s (at least in Chicago), and retail stores that once sold newsstand copies (like Jewels or Walgreens) haven't done so in at least a couple decades, so technically, newsstand copies are 'rare,' and because they're rare, some thirsty retailers think they are worth money. Some of them do hold significant value if they're from the 80s and earlier. Newsstand copies from the 90s--just like MOST comics from the 90s and beyond-- are largely worthless, or they're equal in value to the current-day cover price of a comic. But I swear on all that's holy, you will not be able to finance a home, a car, your college education, or your retirement on any of the 4 worthless comics discussed in this preposterous post. Get a buyers guide and look these books up for yourself, or talk to your local comic shop dealer. Get a second and third opinion if you like. You will find that these four books are worth no more than $40 bucks or so TOTAL! It pisses me off when speculators who know nothing put this kind of misinformation out here
It's true that the newsstand versions of these issues are easily found and not worth much. Most newsstand issues from the nineties are aren't worth the extra money that online sellers try to push them for and really you only see newsstand start to pick up value in the 2000s....later 2000s especially. The nuance that you missed (probably while you were writing this comment) is that these are second print newsstands and are incredibly scarce. Take Batman #457. There are two bar code versions, the standard newsstand and the second printing version which can be identified by the banner on top that says "new robin issue". There is also a non-newsstand with the bat logo in the UPC that has the same banner but it is not scarce. Also a few numbering error editions that some consider rare but not compared to the second print NS. I know....its a lot to take in!!!! A newsstand 2nd print 9.6 sold in May 2020 for $2,150 on eBay. There is only 1 9.8 that has been graded by CGC vs 262 copies graded 9.8 of the standard edition *** Spider-Man #1 UPC gold edition has quite a few more 9.8s graded at 247 copies but the standard cover has over 4k graded copies. This version was ONLY distributed to Wal-Mart stores. The other two are just as scarce. This is all covered in the video if you want to rewatch it or download Key Collector Comics and all the things you might be passing up will be easily identifiable for you. There are a lot of inaccuracies in your comment. Newsstands from the 80s are no more valuable than their direct edition counterparts becaus they were both produced in large quantities. Many comics from the 90s ARE worthless, the ones that were printed in excess but there are a great deal of valuable hidden gems and not-so-hidden gems but classic characters that were created during that time. If you don't believe me, just do a google search for second print newsstands of the issues mentioned
@@KeyCollectorComics I looked it up. Damn, there's no easy way to explain all that, is there? These still seem to be weird exceptions to the industry norm, but whatever, I stand very corrected. interesting. Thanks.
Deephouse Gent for the category of newsstand second printings they are unique but there’s quite a lot of highly collectible oddities in smaller quantities of comics. DC Universe logo reprints are good examples. Some are dollar bin books but there are a handful that range from $20-$200. Anything that presents a challenge, there’s a niche that’ll go to extremes
@@Deephouse_Gent66 I honestly thought the same when I watched the video myself, but then listened to what he said. Despite my comment a few weeks ago, I have yet to pull my longbox :) Thing is I know I have copies just not sure of the variations or not.
YES! You are spot on! These books aren't worth the paper they're printed on! The most expensive one is the Mcfarland book, might go for $20 or so in mint condition, but the others can be found in regular back issue bins worth about the current comicbook cover price. What a JOKE this silly video is! Please peep my extended response to this video post.
I had the comic SUPERMAN dies comic against doomsday...when it first came out ...i fucked that comic book up ...ugh wish I didn’t I was young...damn it! Lol
Hey man. I would understand first printing ones being more expensive, but some of these caught me by surprise as they are not first ed, nor do they have a rare error, but it's the most expensive variant. Why are some of the covers more expensive than the others?
They're scarce. There were less printed with the bar code as the era of the newsstand comic (comics sold at grocery stores, toy stores, convenient stores, etc) was coming to an end. The majority of newsstand comics sold at the time oftentimes did not go home with someone who would put it in a bag with a board.
couple that with the fact that there were simply less of the bar code versions printed because there was a massive shift in how comics were being sold since the direct market (comic shop copies - the covers that have a symbol in it instead of a bar code) became more relevant
As a dealer I look at these and laugh, they are supposedly valuable, but I do comic book shows across the country and NO one cares about any of these, 1000's of customers at dozens of cons, and me and a few dozen other dealers have never had any one ever ask for any on these newsstand copies, I think the value of these books is just a fantasy
Lionel Jones I think very few people know about them but if you look at eBay sold or anywhere that tracks cgc sales you’ll see you’re proven wrong. Those are facts, not opinion. So you’ve never had anyone ask for them or have you had them on display but no one has blight them
@@KeyCollectorComics not saying that they don't sell for decent prices on eBay but the regular collectors don't really care about them, at the cons if you do see them most of the dealers will tell you that they don't sell, they are just over hyped books that only sell on eBay to collectors who want every variant of every book ever made, I have the Batman 457, and the robin 1, have taken them to a ton of cons and nobody has ever cared about them. That's why I call it a fantasy price, the people looking for them are a small group
Lionel Jones I would think that the average convention goer is more interested in getting as many comics possible for the least amount of money, so it's unlikely anyone is going to randomly drop $1500 on a single random Batman variant from almost three decades ago.
There are so many rare comics from the 90's and everyone thinks they are all junk because they mass produced them. Honestly I love when people call me with 90's rather then 70's
Very nice

Interesting that 2nd prints have increased value when it usually means a value drop. I had both the Batman and Robin issues, but first printing.

All us skaters used to peg our jeans in the eighties. Jimmyz too
I wasn't a skater, but pegged my jeans and rolled them up so my neon blue socks with my red high-top chucks unlaced were on full display. Girbaud jeans were the best for this, as they kind of tapered from baggy to a relatively slim ankle.

This post is a good explanation of how the 90's madness killed comic collecting
Justin Jones I would just like to say I totally agree with your statement, what’s wrong with just collecting comics for the enjoyment instead of now having antiques dealers even getting in on the act pushing up prices cause your comic has a different bar code.
It's happening again, but we don't have the print runs to see the same results.
Just subscribed....I have a shit load of comics from 70's - 90's...👍
Video is a bit quiet man. But nice video. Very informative.
Awesome vid! Many thanks bro 👊
COMICS MOST WANTED I’m glad you liked it! I had two guys reach out - one found a Batman 457 the other found robin 1
Your voice I so soothing. Your voice is a golden voice of ages
I don't have the gold Spider-Man Torment but did find the regular issue, still sealed in a factory bag, at a flea market for $20. I can't tell which printing it is without tearing the bag open.
Dbible3 gold upc didn’t have a polybag so don’t worry about it being that one
Great info man!
LONGSHANKS _78 thanks buddy
Thanks!!
For someone who is relatively new to collecting comics the app has been very helpful :D
Aki thank you!
Again, thanks for this video; made it easy to figure out which variant of the comic I have in my possession.
happy to hear that...hope you give the app a try
Blimey this is insane!! Crazy prices for such little things!!
thegreyman blimey is right. $carce comic$
Key Collector Comics These are such strange specific little things that you have to think hardly anybody even knows about them!
thegreyman it’s true. I didn’t know about them until I built the app that focuses on issues like these and other keys
Superman #50 cover art is based on the 1965 Aurora figure model kit.
Mine has a UPC but I cant find it online
I have every cover of Spider-man issue #1, except the platnum cover. All my copies are signed by Todd McFarlane the same year issued. Im now real curious of their value.
Channel ZERO you gotta make sure the gold one has the barcode not the Spider-Man head
I have 10 of the scarecrow one. Woooooh
If you're lucky, you can sell each for maybe $10 a pop... Please see my recent response to this silly post. Those 4 books are practically worthless in terms of collectors' value.
very cool!
I used to have several issues of The Sandman #1 signed by Neil Gaiman which I got signed at a huge Comic-Con event back in the 1990’s but I traded them all years ago.
i love that series
Key Collector Comics Me too, Although when it comes to collecting valuable comics I usually go after Golden Age comics (1938-1945) rather than modern ones myself these days.
cha5 sure...understandable. nearly everything golden is valuable...of course keys being exponentially valuable. i dont cover modern comics only though, in case there was that perception. Just had to get that out of the way
Thanks for sharing on how to spot the key issues from the group of four. Are you going to more videos like this in the future? BTW I use your awesome app (free version) when out hunting. I need to make the leap and subscribe.
Prowler671 thanks for the kind words. Yes I will make more videos with regularity. Make the leap! Do it! Haha. Thanks for your support
Wow, I have the Robin issue, Thanks
Cool video and great app man! Thanks for sharing!
Nick! Brother do you have a watcher tied up in your basement , Bribing him for all this Knowledge!!!! Many thanks my brother coming up on a year now with key collector app and not only can i say its been the most profitable year for my side hustle flipping books on ebay it has also sparked an entrepreneurial blaze in me that 2019 is the year that i will dedicate all my energy to becoming fully self employed with almost half of the earnings coming from Selling Comics online. Thank You truly for providing the comicfam with a resource/tool as valuable as key collector is!!!!! And all you comic enthusiats trolling the comments dont listen to nick hes being modest go ahead and skip the free version and pay the couple bucks to unlock the full Key Collector App. You will be blown away, matter fact i bet you within the first week of downloading you will empty that attic/garage/shed/storage unit etc. that you have avoided like the plague for years just to find those couple short boxes you havent seen in 20 years because they were buried under the dusty remnants of old aunt ethel's 1960's Wig collection right next to dads groovy 63 milk crates of 8 tracks and assorted oddities that withstood the test of time and teenage boys. Key Collector App will make america great again!!!! lol thanks Nick.
Missed this comment. Glad I went through this again. That was really nice of you Caleb
I have a sign copy of the batman comic shown 20 secs in. Is this worth anything?
If you have a SIGNED copy, it is surely worth something, maybe $30-$50 bucks depending on who signed it. But without that signature, that book, and the others discussed in this silly video, are worthless. You can easily find them all in regular back issue bins for current comic cover-price. The McFarland Spiderman may be going for $20 or so in mint condition. Please see my longer response to this dumb video post.
You didn't mention the 000 error on the Batman. I have that but it isn't 000 or newsstand. I do however have the correct Robin #1 and it is still in the bag.
Thats crazy i have that superman 50 and its autographed and it meets criteria 1 and 2
liar
I love the app and use it all the time. Just now found you on youtube this video was amazing and very helpful. I have to go through my collection and check each of these books now to see if I have any of the good ones. I hope you will continue to do more videos like this one to describe what to look for in certain issues to determine what makes it more valuable. Thanks.
If you collect comics solely for their supposed value you've completely missed the point of the hobby
quacksackerthegreat Starfire who said anything about that?
I now feel ill, lol. I know I had the Batman issue and quite possibly the Robin issue that met the criteria. Unfortunately, I sold my collection for $200 dollars a few years back. I didn’t think many of the 90s comics would be worth much. Oh well...
Jeez, I have 37 short boxes to go through now!
on the app it says that robin rises needs to be in red, but your showing a plain black font. is there a difference?
No Holds Barred where does it say it needs to be in red or that it says “robin rises”? Are you using Key Collector Comics? You can email me with a picture nick@keycollectorcomics.com
@@KeyCollectorComics it doesnt say it now. i swear it did because i have that book and i thought it was the wrong one because is said robin rises in red. i shouldve took a screen shot because i didnt think it was right at the time
No Holds Barred the information hasn’t changed. I would know since I handle it myself and I can tell you with 100% certainty that it never said “robin rises” in red.
@@KeyCollectorComics im probably just remembering it wrong
No Holds Barred it happens to all of us. No worries. But I’ve had multiple people find copies before the video From the app so I can assure you it’s been that way. Maybe you’re thinking of a different comic
Great info, thanks so much.
Ricardo Elias thanks for commenting Ricardo
Love your app and it’s very helpful in my hunt. Thanks for making the video
Joel Sanchez thanks Joel!
Lol I have the batman and the Robin. Have the whole 1st year of Robin. Sadly I quit collecting not long after those days....
old school and stopped collecting now just buy if i like.
I have Spider-Man #1 Todd McFarlane cover but it’s silver in the background
Don't worry, the book is largely WORTHLESS as the secondary market is glutted with copies of them. None of these four books featured in this silly video are worth much of anything. Please see my response to this video posted earlier today.
The first ever Spider-Man comic will never be found. My grandfather had it as a kid. His dad threw it away into the trash... 😢
The story of a collector's life👍
I have it but its silver.
I remember I saved my allowance to buy the first issue (1st print) of DARKNESS from image. I felt like I bought the coolest comic book. And out of the blue it was ripped into into shreds inside the trash can.... till this day nobody knows nothing. Sad day
That sucks
5 sets of Fantastic Four 1-3 put into the trash.
I just had to sell the goon 1 avatar copy and a fables 6 rrp variant signed by Bill Willingham just to pay for car repairs.. so bummed
that sucks Matt...sorry to hear that.
Sound SUCCKKSS .. but I subbed the channel
Rich Frank it does. I’ve been meaning to redo the video
I bought for original copies of The Walking Dead from 1989 one through four comics I was wondering how much those are original copies of the first ones
And they right in near mint please help me out . Paul J. Giragosian 401-442-3338€
The walking dead didn’t even come out until 2003 so I’m not sure what you’re referring to
Don't listen to this fool.

Hello- GOT a Queston if anyone can help me???---whats the number mean on the back of a comic book?..it looks stamped its like 7 ..2.something you know, in the upper right..like an inch or two away from the spine??....any help would be appreciated...Thanks in advance--im new to all this..
As soon as I saw the Spidey #1, (black cover) I knew I had to click.
Damn! I have that Robin #1 but its first print ...
Hey, look at here now! Seth Rollins is also a comic nerd!
I have all theses comics, but not these versions :(
Don't worry--these books are WORTHLESS! Whoever posted this video is under a misconception about 'newsstand' copies. Please see my extended response to this silly video post.
good video but I can barely hear you
Jon Armstrong I’ve been meaning to re-record it
I have Batman 457 without the barcode. That sucks
Did u record this with a toothbrush ?
How about cyberfrog is that a rare book to find !!
The app won’t let me login? Or reset my password
RedCapManStudios having an issue were resolving now
I wouldn't say "Extremely"
I have the venom 1st issue lethal protector
Wow. I have the spider man one
I have all Robins!
I have the spider man one
LoL,, back in the day they said the UPC comics "newsstand", were worth less!! Fuck that
Lol
D R don’t lose too much sleep over it. It’s not worth a whole lot. There was a massive print run and they brought him back to life
Audio ain low son, you ain't listening hard enough
no value on the superman like all the others?
yeah yeah it dont matter . Comic book stores Wont pay what its worth. Only a Comic Collector "Maybe" will.
Who sells their books to a comic shop? Ever hear of eBay? Crazy money to be had if you know what to look for.
Someone else said that too. That sucks. I think I need to get a microphone to make it more consistent
Hey dude! I appreciate the reply. Thanks for clarifying that as that really confused me.
2nd printings and different covers destroyed comics like the Atari 2600.....Movies brought comics back
As a dealer I look at these and laugh, they are supposedly valuable, but I do comic book shows across the country and NO one cares about any of these, 1000's of customers at dozens of cons, and me and a few dozen other dealers have never had any one ever ask for any on these newsstand copies, I think the value of these books is just a fantasy
Lionel Jones I would think that the average convention goer is more interested in getting as many comics possible for the least amount of money, so it's unlikely anyone is going to randomly drop $1500 on a single random Batman variant from almost three decades ago.
so stupid that 2nd prints are worth more
Yeah volume is way to low
There are so many rare comics from the 90's and everyone thinks they are all junk because they mass produced them. Honestly I love when people call me with 90's rather then 70's
Spider-man team up with Batman... i have that comic m8 kinda weird actually. " crossover "😅... but i keep it. Maybe in future worth something😄
Ezekiel Zachary I was just looking at that the other day
How about Batman Spawn x-over? I got one.
