Hi Eric, I am from Ecuador. Thank you for your VERY kind words about my country. I am really glad that you like it so far. You know that there is no perfect place on Earth and Ecuador does have multiple shortcomings. But I guess the good is better than the bad. Thank you again!

Hey Barb!! I'm pretty sure Latam will allow up to 10 suitcases. I am not sure on what the cost would be. I know we got the Premium Economy seats and that allowed up to 3 fifty pound checked suitcases and a fifty pound carry on and then a purse or personal item.. I brought a backpack ( I could get more in that than my purse.) Good Luck, talk to you soon! 😊😊
Thanks for this -very helpful, esp. the info about the premium benefits and layover times. I would normally be a cheapskate, but premium makes so much sense! I am getting anxious for my first visit. I am thinking of trying to spend a month - that would give me time to explore trains, buses, hiking in Cajas, neighborhoods, and get a feel for life there. It’s great to hear you are still loving Ecuador & Cuenca. Big hug to you both.
Thank you so much. We truly feel like we are Home. A month is a good amount of time to figure if you are truly going to love living here. The Cajas is a beautiful hiking spot. I would allow yourself at least 3 days to acclimate to the high elevation when you first get here..(unless you already live in a high elevated place). Bring sunscreen, it's a life saver. Thank you again for watching our video, we appreciate you very much. Have a great day..Big hugs
I also spent my Quito layover at that hotel. It was just OK. I did have a great experience on the Latam flight to Cuenca. Professional employees and the crew was hilarious! The new flights to Cuenca on Latam = no-brainer! Thanks!❤
For a decent price that hostel was very comfy. And the people who work there were so helpful. If I had to do it again I would totally stay there again. We love Latam...10 stars⭐⭐💯. Definitely a no brainer and less stessful. Thanks again for watching and hope to see you soon.

Hi Eric and Sandy! Very informative video. I am from Panama and I will visit Cuenca in August this year, my girlfriend lives there, so I'll spend some days with her visiting Ecuador for the first time. I read that there are a lot of delays from the flights that depart from Cuencas Airport? Have you experience this before? I'll be flying to Guayaquil since it is closer to Cuenca than Quito. My girlfriend told me that is save to take a bus from Guayaquil to Cuenca and viceversa, but I don't know, the highway looks kind of dangerous and heard about earth slides in the middle of the highway. Taking a bus will definetley save me some money that taking two domestic flights with LATAM. What are your suggestions? It will be my first time in the country.
Hi... thank you so much for watching. We have never experienced any delays from Cuenca. We've never taken the bus to Guayaquil but we have friends that take it all the time. It takes about 3 hours by bus. Ecuador is a beautiful country. If the bus is at night you won't be able to see the beautiful countryside..I would take the flight. I guess it also depends on how quick you want to arrive . Have a great time, I hope you're going to love Cuenca as much as we did. Safe travels friend.
Great video. Excellent information. I do get frustrated when looking for this flight though! Amelia did a Short where she announced this new flight a month or two ago. But when I search for it this summer, I never seem to find it. Right now on the Latam app, I put in a week from now, next Thursday. And it pops right up. $260 and 6.5 hours from Miami to Cuenca. That's great, sign me up. But when I put in my two possible travel dates for this summer, August 3rd or 4th, one way ticket just to be simple... that flight disappears?! Any idea why? I only see one flight from Miami direct to Quito and then you end up in the airport lounge for 5-6 hours before taking off at 5 am.
Thanks for the compliment. We try to give all the info that we would want. I had the same problem when looking for a direct flight 5 months out. I'm not sure why. The Quito airport lounge is pretty spectacular. I wouldn't mind spending 5-6 hours there if I had to. Thanks for watching, ,we appreciate you. Safe travels.

I'm not sure the hours of the Miami Lounge. I'm pretty sure most are open 24 hours.
I agree with you LATAM is the best airline to travel with! To bad they discounted their direct fight from NY to Guayaquil 😔
discounted or discontinued ? tks for clarifying in advance
Latam💯🎉🙌🥂. There is no wonder why they are the best Airlines in South America !! That is a bummer.. I wonder why they discontinued it.?
@@ericandsandy Hi. Yes, I spoke to a representative last week, and they confirmed it. It's sad. Now in search of a new airline.
@@BPe-ie9je Hi, I meant Discontinued. Sorry for the delay and typing error. Have a wonderful day ☺️
@@marijean2024 Hi Maria. I just bought chromebook (probably mistake) to do Visa for Ecuador work. It flips words like theres 'no tomorrow'. I understand! If we are in EC same time, we'll have to meet for EC Espresso and EC chocolate 🙂. I'm in northern MI. Snow is melting. Still fickle weather. Take care. Thanks for clarification.
Can I go from boston to miami to cuenca, then going back, it's cuenca to miami to boston? Or do I have to go to Quito? Thanks.
You always end up going through Quito ..you need to go through customs. But yes, the direct flight to cuenca is only from Miami. So Boston to Miami..then Miami to Cuenca. with a pitstop in Quito. The direct flight from Miami to Cuenca I believe leaves around 3:30 p.m. ish. You are very welcome. Thanks for watching and Safe travels.
Well, I expect a discount for being short and taking up less space on the plane ✈️ 🤓
😂😂😂😂That would be a great discount.
ha ha , Bear. Great sense of humor. appreciate.
Someone praises an airline! That's rare. I was going to tell you my United Airlines horror story but I these days I migyht get sued.
For real on the getting sued..crazy times. Thank you for watching our video and if you ever get the chance to fly on Latam, please do you will not be disappointed. Have a lovely day.
I had a horrible experience both on the flight from Quito to Miami and from Miami to Quito. 33 hour delay one time and a 6 hour delay another time. Poor communication from staff and refusal to compensate or hotel. I will only fly American or Delta from now on.
Awww man, we're so sorry you had such an awful experience. Something like that just happened to a friend's friend.. but they compensated him with a hotel stay. I understand on wanting to fly with someone else.
@@ericandsandy American Airlines compensated me a hotel room, but Latam didn't even apologize! Poor customer support and poor dissemination of information.
That stinks. Good on American for the hotel room!!
