Thankyou all for watching and see you very soon in the next one! - Авто/Мото
my brother in law has one in his garage i think it was red and he got it in the sixties.he cant drive any more .i enjoyed watching your flim thank i am a 73 year old lady .
I've just spent 10 minutes of my life watching some bloke wash an old car . Awesome !
David Preston my missus thinks I’m bonkers. When the paint glistens after the jet wash it re-enforces the adage never buy a car in the rain.
It's great to see a car designed and built by the human mind brought back to life, and no microchip between the driver and the engine. Deserves to be back on the road, let the younger generation see a proper drivers car. A midget gem 👍
I had a Midget like this in 1965. It was a brilliant little car which I upgraded to a new 1275 in the late 60’s. The 1275 cc was better in many ways, particularly the powered hood even though the 1100 had been fitted with a “Derrington Head”, and a copper exhaust? Always turned heads at Croft race track. Thanks for the memories! I am in my eighties now and it was good to see the 1100’s are still out there!
The wife...”Are you actually watching a video of someone jet washing an old car”... Yes I am and loving it ! 😀
I used to watch some Liverpudlian detailing bloke with me earphones in. Mrs would give me strange looks while she's sat there watching Made In Chelsea lol
@@marcussharma Yeah, that's him mate
Same here my beloved cannot wrap her her around it. More satisfying than fast food!
Well... I feel much cleaner now, imagine how great the car feels?
It’s so fulfilling watching a gerney cut thru dirt isn’t it?
Lovely little car nice piece of history, I hope the original owner restores it, would be a waste if not.
Very charitable of you to have done the work so far.
Now she is clean you can see how much surface rust there is to deal with, but still a smashing little car. Barn storage has at least saved the majority of the car from totally wasting away, great job guys.
Its great news that you are saving this lovely old British MG Midget.
Rob I'd love to have seen you snow foam it first, just let it soak in the foam for a bit to help break down all the old crud first before jetwashing, but very enjoyable to watch none the less 👌
Looks pretty good considering its age, those old Goodman's speakers brought back some memories.
martin dares dinky restorations. I had the same set up back in the day, bought from Dixon’s 👍🏻
I had a pair proudly positioned on the parcel shelf of a MK2 Escort.
@Adam Smith needs them for his cosworth parcel shelf !!!
Goodmans GP100's i believe
@@ridgmont61 someone knicked my parcel shelf and that same set of speakers from my Nova, ha ha!
My dad has owned the same Austin Healey sprite since he was 19 and he is now 62. The car has just had a new gearbox and is in mint condition. Liked seeing the Midget cleaned up.
Love to see these old beauties brought back to life..we had Bugeyes, Tr3s, MGAs and spitfires growing up.
They have, and always will be a passion of mine.
Great vid, great little mg for its age, I was expecting it to fall apart as soon as the pressure washer hit it lol, keep the vids coming m8 they're great
A nice car.
Even with the all that rust, she still looks sweet. It's just a shame you have to hand her back.
I really do wonder what the British car industry could have been like today if the restrictive practices of the 1960s/ 70s had not strangled it. I am a proud Brit and I love seeing iconic symbols of our Great manufacturering past. Thanks guys for sharing your talent and skill with the rest of us mere mortals 👍 🇬🇧
Rob I think it came up better than I expected. I’m glad due to your intervention the chap is going to get the paint done on it. Although that’ll not be an easy paint job I’d imagine it’ll be at least 2K to get that out right. Pls keep up the content. It’s just spot on. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🏴
This is the sort of project i would love to get my hands on and get all that bodywork and detailing spot on. Im no good at mechanics but cosmetic stuff and valeting is my thing.
I was down at the gym this afternoon. Caught myself whistling that bloody time lapse music. Thanks.
Silver Back - that made me laugh
🤣🤣🤣 same, was doing my garden gate; got me laughing
🤣
The music doesn’t fit the channel at all but I love it 😂
Found myself humming it the other day to !
Considering it’s been sat there 29 years, it’s amazing that it’s still solid. I mentioned before I used to work at an MG restorer and thoroughly enjoyed watching you working on it. 👍
Absolutely amazing Rob, love watching theses videos. I had the some stereo and speakers in a Capri, thought I was the dogs nuts thanks again 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I really do hope that the guy does right by this car and gets it back on the road as it should be
I hope so too. But I have to wonder what are the chances when he’s let it sit getting like that for 29years. Anew owner is probably what it needs.
You’ve started to breathe a new lease of life into the MG so I hope the owner carries on.loving them Goodman back shelf speakers with no shelf.
I reckon your white trainers would have made the white suit look complete but you went for the black ones. Just didn’t match the look rob. Anyway great content guys.
I played for Morris group football at courthouse green where the engines were built, many years ago I enjoyed the video thanks for people like you.
Hi Rob, was pure pleasure to watch the dirt running off the little MG, it's definitely a restorable car for someone, as it's withstood the yrs in the shed reasonably well. Was chuckling to myself all day at the vision of it scooting off down the yard yesterday. Excellent watching today mate, looking forward to next video. Cheers, Alex.
let’s just hope it doesn’t end up back in that shed and carry on dying after all the work you put in smashing looking car it could be Enjoy the video
.....shed. she is looking kind of dumb.....
Terry Lee /m
Those speakers in the back,I had some of those in my Escort many moons ago Goldman’s
Young Guns blasting!!
Goodmans🙂👍
Just noticed the radio think I had one of those as well is it a 50 watts rms radio
@TheCamshafter I think Argos might have sold them as well.
Very satisfying to watch it reemerge from the dust and dirt. A little diamond in the rough. Good luck restoring it.
You are giving me such memories with these videos. Happy days, long gone, of driving my MG Roadster (k reg,) also the sadness of wondering why I ever sold it! Smashing video, very much appreciated, really liking it. Thanks. Terry.
Bet that was so satisfying, brilliant job 👏👏
That MG Midget has so much dust on it it reminds me of the top of my wardrobe. Wife refuses to do the high dusting.
People like you do a brilliant job at saving the planet. That is bringing back old cars to life is better than building a new car from new.
Smiles all round lads. This little story ain't over yet. Love it!!
brill video i would love to see if you could get a mx5 engine in one of these l no its sacralidge but would be a great street sleeper
You guys did a fantastic job fixing this midget car. It was entertaining and overall fun to watch. 👍🏾
Congratulations, you just discovered the magic of pressure washer ...
Trip down memory lane, my first car was a blue 65 Midget just like that, great three videos, thanks very much.
Had a 67 Auston Heally Sprite in my younger years (1981) Loved it would love to have a Sprite of MG again. also had a TR250 73 to 75 sold it when ship oversea's Military
Hold your mate to getting it refurbished. If he forgets by end of June make him an offer and restore yourself. 👌
Alex Dalgleish we don’t get the time mate or have the space 👍
I could almost hear her giggling that the jet wash tickled... Happy car!
Fab 😍 solid but tad shabby 😍 love old cars for their resilience and parts availability 😎 I'd be chuffed to spend a few days at this and come up with this result - happy days! Hope it continues to get work done by the owner 😎
I’ve been looking for a nice, reasonable MG for years, I’m more in a hurry now after watch this segment! Great content as always!
“Babe come snuggle! ”
“HOLD ON! I’m watching a man spray down an old dirty midget! You need to see this!”
“ I think we need to see other people”
Lol good one 😁😄
It's got a strange appeal to it, nice motor in its day.
Still nice 👍
I love the old classics! What a victory to get something running again after many years! Well done 👍🏻
Great job and video. I have had three of these motors way back and they are so much fun to drive. This model can be easily fixed and put back on the road and put a smile on many faces. Thanks.
Shame there is no Part 4/5/6 to this potentially fantastic project!
FINALLY 😂 feels like eternity
Lovely car. Thanks for showing it to us.
Very pleasing you guys have done great love seeing old cars coming back too life keep up the great work guys 👏👍
I thought that jet washer was going to go right through the metalwork when you started to jet it... I was watching with one eye open!!
jon athan agreed, way over the top! Just a good soak and gentle spray would have done. Jet washers can do a lot of damage.
I would have foamed the car initially to soak it in to help remove the mud and stuff
Looks so good I’d be happy to drive that as it is lol loving the goodmans speaker’s just needs a fury dice 🎲your right about the 80’s 90’s roof repairs lol my jag’s vinyl roof was the same till I got a new one lol
love to see it when body work is done good vid very interesting love the old cars keep vids coming cheers
Did you find the odd shilling or two ??!!😆
ashley kipps not a penny 👍
Oh well !!!😀
Why in the world this piece of history is in such a bad condition?
Have you watched the previous videos?
I had a tartan red one, same year. Such a great drive with the hood down! The little bucket seats were incredibly comfortable. Those rear wing seams were a right pain, they tended to rust/rot. They were difficult to repair properly. This looks like one of those restorations that could go on and on...
Great little cars! I've got a '79 1500cc one and I can't believe how cheap they are and how much fun they are to drive. Lots of 'Dash for your Cash'! Nice to see an old one saved.
I just purchased a 1979mgb sitting since 1989 cleaned up great and no rust with over drive
totally enjoyed watching this mg come to life, GREAT JOB :) cool little car, I have always love the little mg and mg miget here in the states, and my favorite color British Racing Green, thanks again for posting this
That is a lovely shade of green, goes well with that wee car.
Just got home from work and my little boy said, daddy you have to watch the new vid, Rob has cleaned that old car. Top work👍👍👍👍👍
Had a rubber bumper midget pre children. What great fun, brake failure on motorway, new panels to deal with rust, intermittent shuddering at 60mph. I’d have one again tomorrow! Great to see this one though. Hope he does sort it out.
I bought a new 1974 Midget when I was 22 yrs old. I loved that car. It was like driving a big go-cart. I wish I had kept it. The most fun car to drive 😎
Its lovely just a bit of TLC and it's looking amazing
Lovely classic car I really am enjoying this show of restoring an old classic car
You know what I've had a bit of a non productive day today,I got in,cracked a Beer and saw this,Very satisfying,Cheers Lads!
Lovely looking car great to see you guy's restoration there cars 😀
I give you a great grade in getting it as clean as can be for a days work. It has a lot to be done but as you said, all the parts can be acquired so that is great!
Congratulations on helping it come back to life, I hope the owner continues on with it!
Blessings...........great job for you fellows!
Rob - I watched this as I waited for a plane in Amsterdam tonight -- got some funny looks! Great stuff !
"Let's get involved" you guys don't mess about you're always doing something!
These little MG Migets are by far my favourite sports car from MG such a cheerful looking little car
I know they are only morris minors with a sports body but I have such a soft spot for them a bit like minis proper minis not the 2 ton BMW effort
Wonderful for so simple a vid - like watching a fireplace; all is calm as the dirt washes away.
i had a 1979 MGB - british racing green/ saddle interior. my fav car .. electrical problem less than 2 years old- it caught fire - end of my MGB .
still love them - good luck JDS/CT
In the mid to late 70s I owned a 1966 MGB GT which had wire wheels and overdrive (separate switch on the dashboard on the right hand side). It was, like this beautiful Midget, also in British Racing Green. It stuck to the road like glue and flat out would do an indicated 120 MPH. A bit cumbersome around town but it was beautiful. I still miss it!
Thanks for the bit of nostalgia!
Lovely little car. Drove one in the 70's and loved it.
Oddly satisfying to see the wash gently reveal the true skin and beauty of a classic .😍 fingers crossed the old girl see's the road again
There is something very satisfying seeing the dirt come off. It is much the same with me when I have my annual bath which I take every March (whether I need it or not).
One of the our fitters at South London Motors had one of those MG s, same colour aswell. Great roaring up Streatham High Road perched on the top of the rear seats. Would have been about 1971, happy days.
Brushed up well, been a great bit of interesting content and nice to hear that its restoration is in the offing cos overall its solid for a Midget thats not been on the road for many years.
Great content, well worth cleaning it for your friend. These cars are the ideal project for someone wanting to get into car restoration. Cheap to buy, parts available. Informative vid.
I cannot believe it was left for so long! But the satisfaction of watching that jet wash was amazing!!!
Good to refurbish this gem
I had the same car ,left hand drive. Drove it on I95 once and gave it to my best friend the next day.
Hi guys. Love your enthusiasm. Its so addictive watching you turn old battered motors in to something road worthy 👍🏻 When I get a notification on my phone I get involved lol 😆 Keep the good videos coming cheers Stevie 😎
Great little midget, has come up pretty good with a wash, I bought a Mgb last year and doing bits on it and going to spray it soon! Great video 🍺
Very popular car of the past with British racing green colour. Love it.
So satisfying watching the jet wash strip away the decades worth of grime. :)
Lovely little car. Hopefully this will spur the owner on to restoring it.
Great video guys! :)
That brought back some memories seeing those 1980 Goodman speakers, I used to have them attached to the parcel shelf of my mint 1986 Fiesta xr2. I remember chasing (in my boxers shorts and wielding a golf club) 2 members from our diverse community up the main road at 3am, because the pigs pinched my speakers & parcel shelf. The commotion woke all my neighours up.....not a great sight for them
Good times!!
Reminds me of flying about in my Firenza with a Sharp auto reverse tape player, audioline graphic equaliser and Goodmans GP100s. They were bassy little buggers
Glad to see you got involved mate.
Inspired the owner to get that car back on the road by making it content.
Top job 👍
I am glad you put the effort into getting this little MG going and cleaned up. I hope now that the owner will do the right thing and get it restored properly. These little Midgets and Sprites used to be everywhere once but are becoming more and more rare. The MG Car Club that I am a member of here in Australia has hardly any Midgets on its books these days whereby once there were hundreds. I sincerely hope this one will be a survivor.
I have a Mk3 Sprite, mostly stripped and off road for 40 years.... in a lot better condition. Engine was rebuilt, new cars fitted. Lots of spares and even an Ashley hard top. Serious Offers invited....
Great to see the little Brit, being saved.
Got to love a good jet wash on a car, what a difference, cant wait to see it complete
That has real potential . Seems to have all the good bits. 1275 lump, wire wheels, chrome bumpers. Very nice.
The most satisfying thing ive seen all week top job as always rob👏👌
Had a 1980 one of these and loved it, shame i never managed to own a spitfire, but that is probably cause i owned a few mx5s
05-45 in the morning, can’t believe I’m sat watching Rob pressure wash a car. How many people would love to do that job??
Ed Franklin lol
it's owsm to see old cars ...
love it
After a clean I think my favourite part of that MG is the back coz I'm glad to see the back of it 😂😂😂... The pigeon crap on that car had eaten through the paintwork needs a good 12month on it to bring it back....Anyhoo enjoyed coming along for the ride 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I’ve just recently started seeing one of these in the same model and color driving around my little town in the U.S.
@02:33 That is so satisfying watching the grime come off this car! Top work. Kinda making me want to give mine a deep clean!
