    People are saying the strap is too big but as a bigger guy with broad shoulders, it’s perfect!

    Love mine! Add a paracord tab to the zipper on the concealed carry compartment and you can grab it to swing the bag to the front and open the zipper at the same time. Quick access to your weapon😄

    Nice review. Gave me all I needed to know. And thank you for the links to different sections. Very helpful! Way to go. I hear you on the wide strap. Fit for a linebacker.

    The bottom handle is to pull the pack around your body with a positive grip.

      I agree even though I still bought the bag. There are definitely room for some improvements. If and when they do that I will probably make the upgrade.

    Agreed on the oversized strap….. I wonder how many more they would have sold if it weren’t for that; especially on the LV models.

      @starfoggs Год назад +1

      I actually like it. Lower friction and therefore easier to sling around for easy access. Also it spreads the weight to a bigger bearing surface which makes it feel much more comfortable on your back and shoulders.

    I love everything about this bag except for the strap. Number one you can’t change the position of it, number two the upper portion of the strap is ungodly wide. I want to love it, but I struggle with the strap design.

      I agree. The reason you listed and the ccw situation is ultimately why I decided to move away from this bag. I'll be reviewing some other slings in the near future.

    I really wanted to like this bag. In my experience, the storage volume was too small, especially compared to the size and length of the strap, which was ridiculously cumbersome. When off body, it was very awkward to carry by hand or store. That said, I really liked the details for customization. I really wish it were closer to 15L.

    Anyone have experience carrying heavier weight? Had it lying around so looking to convert it to a low-vis range bag. But worried about the load carrying 100-300 rds.

    Most of the reviews of this bag on the 511 website, complain about that c-clip on the end of that strap and how easily it comes disconnected.

    REPEAT comment - _not sure if my other post posted..._
    What comes to my mind and not an insult to you or these newish types of sling bags:
    *_Bad guys are not stupid,_*
    so if they see anything like military cut hair or short hair, operator type beards, gun slogan or survival t-shirts, 5.11 duty pants, a person with a tactical molle bag/sling... well you see where I am going with this.
    So (IMO) to be effective in EDC keep things in a _"vanilla"_ backpack/sling or even a rainbow colored hippie bag carrying non-lethal, regular things in them.
    *_On body_* keep guns, knives, and I very much hope you also have non-lethal tools on your person too. Non-deadly force is what is required mostly for self-defense (less than 1% of self-defense involves shooting a gun - FBI data).
    *_Non-lethal Force_*
    Pepper spray/gel can be very effective & save you lawyer fees, court fees, your marriage, your job, time, mental trauma, if you shoot someone, justified or not. Yes, I have used pepper gel & it worked like a champ on one of two "bad" guys that accosted late at night in Alaska. The sprayed guy fell to his knees in pain and the other ran away fast.
    Have an excellent May 2021.

    Can this hold enough clothing for an overnight?

    • @AmericanDrifter
      @AmericanDrifter  3 года назад +1

      @E K it's subjective to how much you need overnight. It's about 13 liters which is the around the size of a grocery bag. So if all you need is a change of clothes and toiletries, you could probably make it work. I hope that helps!

    are you familar with ebikes and their batteries? they can get quite heavy and big. do you think this bag can hold 1 or 2 batteries

    • @AmericanDrifter
      @AmericanDrifter  2 года назад

      Can’t say that I am. I no longer have the bag but you can check 511’s site for the dimensions. Carry weight in a sling bag may be uncomfortable though

    • @AD-xn7pt
      @AD-xn7pt 2 года назад

      @@AmericanDrifter yea it might be heavy but i want it compact and comfortability tight on my body. they never mention inner dimensions and the pockets and sleeve take up some space. could stack or side to side 2 batteries.
