Gavin seems most comfortable and expressive in Slo Mo Guys, because he's just doing what he loves with his friend, while at Achievement Hunter, there's a lot of pressure to be funny and a lot of that humor comes from ridicule and cruel jokes (not to say they aren't funny)
These two slo mo guys are much smarter than people think... Especially Dan, His lack of ego and ability to self deprecate makes him seem like goof but he's smart

This is why I respect this channel so much. They show the failures, the set up, the history, give credit to inspirations, and overall they’re just themselves and not some fake RUclips personality. But most importantly of all, they didn’t let their fame and wealth change who they are. Just chill dudes that love slow mo and video games. Never change guys!
Pretty easy to not let fame go to your head (for Gavin, at least) when your friends constantly pop whatever ego does manage to crop up. Specifically Geoff, Michael and the rest of the AH/RT crew.
I would 100% buy a Blu-ray of the slow mo guys. I love watching your stuff on my 4k TV it really show off the potential of the TV.

As a parent of an former “absolute totally uninterested” teenager (school wise), you guys and the Myth Busters “saved” his life. He started reading up about, in his words, Unimportant Scientific details and became fascinated by it. His interested to do something with it (like writing a book) motivated him enough to skip 2 grades.
Now at the age of 20 he’s graduating in Physics and Civilian Technics. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

"A" story isn't like the loads of times Mythbusters did that and still aired it (the worst probably being tory falling on a windowledge),
YT does have way too strict rules for uploads from and targeting countries like usa so I understand the fear of getting flagged

Tobias Flader those output through an HDMI ...if what I imagine by "box" as she describes is correct,that thing probably doesn't even have an HDMI in...and even if it has it the screen itself is probably 720-1080...so even if the disc is being read in 4k the actual image displayed wouldn't be

The funny thing about them wanting characters when they first started and now they naturally developed those characters over time and you know Gavs always the one safe behind the camera while Dans always out front doing the dangerous stuff and the difference in their looks now with Gav being all clean while Dans is just standing in tatters. It's funny how that stuff comes naturally over time and how when RUclips started everyone sorta thought they had to fake it.
People often naturally find their role or fall into a spot that works over time. Any good duo needs good chemistry between them, which Gav and Dan always had too (which helped) ;)

I really love the behind the scenes stuff, especially the failures. I understand why you don't make videos out of that, but like you pointed out with the "mythbusters" story flow, I find it SUPER interesting and hope you dump as much of that as you reasonably can here, or even on a third, almost zero-effort channel.

I would want the 4k just for the high quality downsampling on my 1080p screen. Their videos look AMAZING streamed at 4k bitrates. I can only imagine what an uncompressed version would look like with high quality sampling.
Christian Wilhite sadly you ain't gonna get an uncompressed disk because I think you guys overestimate how much a disk can hold. More like a hard drive with a 4k video on it.
Even RUclips 4K to on-disc 4K, you'd still see a huge bump up in clarity since the bitrate on the disc would be waaaaay higher. That's the main thing that gets smushed on RUclips in terms of quality degradation. They don't even want to tell you upfront what the bitrates are on the options menu (you can look up the info but I'm saying it's not listed upfront), just the pure resolution numbers and a framerate. That should be a hint that they often skimp out on the bitrate as low as possible for the given resolution, lol.
Please consider selling canvas prints of your best slow mo shots. Like paint mixing on speakers, exploding paint powder on air bags, fire, water in ballons, etc! We have thought so many times of how much we would love to hang still images of that stuff as art in our home, but getting the images off of youtube wouldn't be high enough quality.

Antonio Paquette Gav lives in the US Dan used to live in the UK they would fly Dan to the US and film for a week and fly him back out. I believe currently he has moved or is in the process of moving to the US with hopes of working for Rooster Teeth and do more Slow Mo Guys

Especially when you do shots with lots of high pressure water and flying particles, MPEG artifacts pop up real bad and it kinda stinks, cause that's where the most interesting stuff happens!

A 4K collector dvd would be welcomed to be able to see the slo mo in full resolution
Keep in mind that the camera can't shoot 4K past a certain FPS, so the super slow shots will still be lower res
No matter what it'll still look better without RUclips compression. And they could take the lower resolution clips and upscale them so they fill the screen.
@@TheGreatMunky Well only those sections are 360p, if the rest of the video has higher res that sections should get the same bitrate compression as 1080p, same reason why sometimes its better to set the video quality to 4k even if you have a 1080p screen
edit: they already upscale, that's why its not a tiny window on your screen

Not sure what you're trying to say.
RUclips compression isn't all that great. A Blu-ray would be far superior to something streamed from RUclips. A 4K Blu-ray would look even better than a regular Blu-ray as well, and far better than even 4K RUclips content.
When you stream from RUclips you're not watching the full quality of the original video, you're getting a trimmed down version, even on the 4K stream setting. So putting the videos on a 4K disc would allow us to see the original quality of the video before it was compressed by RUclips.
And yes, lots of the content would be upscaled to 4K from lower resolutions, but it would still look far better than being upscaled, then being compressed by RUclips.
@@TheGreatMunky Well there's a great chance RUclips doesn't even compress those parts, as the bitrate is so high. Sure, it's upscaled, but it still lacks detail and the H265 compression RUclips uses nowadays could handle this perfectly well I believe.

I would love to get this BluRay version, been watching your videos since about 7 years ago when I was in boarding school in Australia and have been ever since. Never once did I find a video disappointing or have a feeling that left me unsatisfied, other than wishing to watch more videos on this channel. What I love so much is that whatever content I watch on the Slow mo Guys, is that re watching the footage does not become boring, and in times becomes more fascinating the second time watching, finding more hidden details from an awe-inspiring footage

Also, I would be very interested in seeing your "failed" videos posted to this 2nd channel. Even if you left the videos quite rough I would still love to see the things you tried. Wow, because of this channel and how awesome the videos are, even early in their career, they became so well known that the US government considered him an extraordinary person and gave him a visa just because of that!
And then he moved to America, earned (probably) a few million dollars, got a job playing games with some of his best friends and got a model girlfriend. That six foot ballon really paid off

1. It's not a DVD (or a 'blue' ray).
2. Making it a download pretty much negates the purpose of a 4K UHD disc. RUclips and streaming services are great, but nothing beats the fidelity of physical media.
@@PhillipParr Blu-ray isn't really a physical medium, just a physical device that can store digital media. You can get the exact same data with no loss of quality by downloading the contents of the disc, though it might be a rather large file. Contrast this to a photograph taken by an analog camera- which IS a physical medium- where the resolution is only really limited by camera focus and paper quality, and where scanning it into digital format *will* cause a loss of fidelity.

Think you guys are awesome, have been going through a great deal of pain with a toren right rotator cuff and watch your videos to help calm me down at night and get me to sleep.
