I like how the exercises are designed to actually warm up your hands through basic strokes, etc. I scratch my head when I see certain other groups where their warmup exercises try to be as "funky" as possible, especially when they end oddly like on an upbeat with a tenor skank followed by visuals.
having funky warmups isnt always the worst thing, depends entirely on how the warmups are written. alot of these ultra funky lot warmups corps have are extremely difficult and will make you just as warm as playing basic strokes will
@@tapisbadatgames yea most funky warmups are usually to hype the fans for the show and are also to get the players more engaged while playing the actual rudiments that are in their show (ex: bluecoats suzie being the warmup for the rudiments in their show book)
Every group actually warms up but then they have warm-ups like reds rhumba that are for show to hype, recruit, all sorts of things. These dudes tear through music so no reason not to
@@Moosepants12 red rhumba is more of an exercise for the players to get warmed up for something they would see in the show, and it literally is used for full strokes and rebound strokes too, just choppy because mcnutt’s the beethoven of dci drumline.
I've never been to a DCI competition, and my high school marching days (Harrison County, Kentucky) were 1987-1990, but I've got to say that's a sick line! So, so crisp.
8:45 I laughed so hard. The girl snare messed up her sticks in and she thought it was funny, so she tried to tell the guy next to her but he didn't react at all, and then she just has this look of defeat on her face lol
@@sw1tchclipz873 he doesn’t look that young. He looks like 18. But either way, he has insane skills. Age out is 22 so I hope he got as many seasons in as he could.

I guess for some groups, it’s more important to win in the parking lot instead of winning on the field

The fundamentals are strong with this one. Great job SCV
I don’t care what anyone says, the drumline going into a trap breakdown why the entire ensemble is dancing is top 10 dci moments
10:30 and on is absolute gold

The tenor player closest to the camera looks really young, is that just me?
