Hello I love your video! Thank you for taking the time to make it. I have a two quick questions: 1. how do you formula your own soap recipes? Experimentation? I have found a lot of good recopies that I want to try out but I do not want to copy someone else’s soap recipe. I plan on opening a business to sell soap based products. 2. I have a toddler and will be making cold process soap. Can I do this in the kitchen when she is not around? I will use all safety precautions. Thanks!
Hi Katie! It’s because of you I started my journey with soap making. I am a mama of 5, an aunt of 15+ & I would just love to ace this recipe! I have a question. What temperature do you use to heat the oils up? I am trying to successfully get the lye water & oils to the same temperature as they cool
Hey Katie! A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR and thank you for your generous sharing of interesting recipes! Just a simple question. I was wondering if you will reveal a recipe for making liquid dish soap in the new year, or did I miss something somewhere? Absolute great vids, btw!
This recipe sounds like just what I need for my very sensitive skin. I have a general question: Do you keep separate tools for cooking and soap making? I've heard arguments for and against it, and I'd rather not have duplicate pots, pans, blenders, etc. for something I do once a year or so. Thanks for all your videos--they're always so clear and straightforward!
Thanks Barbara! I do keep separate pots and a separate spatula. I don’t think there any safety issue but I find that when I’m using a fragrance it lingers in the pot... not so good for good!
I am unclear on fragrance oil and essential oils for soap making. If you use essential oils, should it be a certain grade, such as therapeutic or will any essential oil work for soap making? Thanks
Hello mam, loved ua recipe. I wanted a gud recipe for baby soaps. As my prev batch was not successful. Will surely try this one. Thank u soo much ❤❤❤🤗 plz post more soaps and other diy lotions ,etc etc 😊
This sounds wonderful! Have a new grandbaby due in May. They live in Ukraine and can't get alot of things we can. Much rather send some of your things than Johnson's.
Aw how lovely to get homemade things in the mail for baby if you like crochet you should check out my friends channel @lepetitsaintcrochet she does the cutest toys
Hi, thanks for the recipe, can I make this without the beeswax? Would it effect the quality of the soap? i am aware I would have to recalculate the final lye amount too right?
Made this and used the ingredients exactly and it was drying. Immediately begin to take the moisture from my hands and they begin to wrinkle as if being in the pool for a long time. Could even smell the lye, did I do something wrong?
Jelisa S coconut oil gives you the big bubbly lather. The only subs would be palm kernel flakes or babassu oil. Jojoba oil doesn't bring much to the party, it is actually a wax. Aloe vera is not an oil; it is often a substitute for water to make the lye solution. Calendula is not an oil either. It is a botanical usually infused in the olive oil, added to the batter itself, or sprinkled on top. Yes, any butter can be used. All recipes must be run thru a lye calculator.
substitutions are okay, but balancing each oil, like you said. but you'll need to run any new recipe you create through a soap calculator as the amount of lye needed might change, and understand that the finished bar will be a little different
Hi Katie! I used your recipe to make baby soap. I used Mother's breast milk instead of water. My ph is between 9-10. Is that about what your ph runs? Is that gentle? I like it around 8-9.
I made this. Swapped out water for aloe juice and added coconut milk. It was fabulous
Love this soap tutorial. Lavender is one of my favorite scents!
Ditto! You Use it on one of your bunnies ❤️
Thank you for this! I was looking for a gentle, no palm oil recipe.
Thanks for posting this very informative video. I think you do a good job with clearly and concisely speaking in a way that's easy to understand. 👍🏼
thank you tamara that's so nice of you 😊
Thank you for the recipe. When resizing the recipe what is the, "Water as % of Oils
or the Lye Concentration ? " please.
Wish you got an answer

My pleasure 😊

Hi, when to add the lavender oil, also pls make a video on how to store and cure the soaps
Lovely soap!! 👍
Did you use light olive oil for this recipe?
Do you know if there’s a difference when using virgin olive oil and the refined one?
Love your channel. I’m new to soap making. Could you tell me what your lye concentration is? Thank you in advance xx

Thank you for sharing! ✌
Can this be used for shampoo too?

Can i use olive oil pomace
Luv your videos!
What is the reason you chose to add Beeswax? Is it to harden the bar?
I am unclear on fragrance oil and essential oils for soap making. If you use essential oils, should it be a certain grade, such as therapeutic or will any essential oil work for soap making? Thanks
What can I use for bees wax substitute?
Thank you!
I'll try it soon.😘
Dumitru Simona yay!

Will do! I’m doing more lotions in March ❤️
Is it okay to multiply ingredients if I want to make more soaps?
Beautiful soap, thank you! What was the size of this batch?😊
Will it be okay if I used candelilla wax instead?

Where can I find the recipe for this soap??
Does this soap lather good?
Can i use pomace olive oil here?
Hi, thanks for the recipe, can I make this without the beeswax? Would it effect the quality of the soap? i am aware I would have to recalculate the final lye amount too right?
yes you can! the bar will be a bit softer. and yes you definitely need to recalculate the lye :)
Made this and used the ingredients exactly and it was drying. Immediately begin to take the moisture from my hands and they begin to wrinkle as if being in the pool for a long time. Could even smell the lye, did I do something wrong?
Are there any other recipes that don’t require a long cure time
I’d like to attend a soap making class to get confidence .
Could I use other oils instead of coconut? Such as jojoba, aloe vera and calendula? Also can you add a different butter to this as well?
Jelisa S coconut oil gives you the big bubbly lather. The only subs would be palm kernel flakes or babassu oil. Jojoba oil doesn't bring much to the party, it is actually a wax. Aloe vera is not an oil; it is often a substitute for water to make the lye solution. Calendula is not an oil either. Can i replace coconut oil with castor oil
is it 140 degrees C or F ?
Hi Madame, what kind of coconut oil ? 76 , 96 Degrees ? I will make soap to my Grandchild. Thanks
Why can it still burn your skin when you take it out of the mold?
Can I buy your Palm free shower moisturizing soap?
does the % of each oil matter a lot? or is matching total quantities and having a hardening oil and moisturising oil okay?
substitutions are okay, but balancing each oil, like you said. but you'll need to run any new recipe you create through a soap calculator as the amount of lye needed might change, and understand that the finished bar will be a little different
Thank you
How long we should wait until the soap is ready to use?
about 3-4 weeks
@@HeartsContentFarmhouse thank you so much
Beautiful recipe, but I would suggest you don't layer with news paper, especially knowing its for babies....keep up the good work

Understand there is some caution using beeswax for babies due to allergies.
You should have gloves on when mixing lye.
