I'm brand new to soap making. Everything ive made is measured by oz! Not to sound stupid, but what were your measurements? I see you made a big batch. That's ok. I would like to make a big batch too. Is it better to measure in % or oz? Thanks!

    I voted for "keeping them extravagant" but that doesn't mean I don't think there is a perfect place for soaps like these and ones that are more whimsical. Maybe a good 70/30 split of wild ones to practical ones. Either way, this soap looks beautiful. The top reminded me of curly hair carved in old marble sculptures. Does that make sense?

    ~IDEA~ One thing that not many people tend to make is soap that looks beautiful and fancy, and is perfect for gifting, but without any fragrance. My mum gets migraines from fragrances and also has eczema, and something beautiful, fancy, fragrance free and gentle like the soap in this video would be utterly amazing. I hope this reaches you, and btw I love your videos, as well as your ramblings. You're a beautiful human being and will be a fantastic mother.

I mean, I also have small hands and I cut each bar I buy into 4ths because they are so large and I use these in the shower more then anything. I think some more sensitive skin soaps would be nice. At least for me, Im not sure about anyone else, the sents and colors that you use don't agitate my skin, which also might be because its vegan.

I am busy so I can't watch the videos as they come out and sometimes I just want to keep a few so I can binge watch them when I am in the mood for something creative. You can't make a soap with medical claims (helps with arthritis, etc) because it would then be classified as a drug and needs to go thru FDA testing. Plus, soap is a wash off product so you really wouldnt get the benefits. Youd be better off getting a salve or something

    • @Lacroix999
      @Lacroix999 5 лет назад +1

      while sellers of their products can’t make medical claims to treat/cure/prevent different ailments per FDA regulations when selling/marketing their product unless they also get it approved for being classified as a ‘drug’, you most definitely can get just as good benefits from using soap as you can lotion especially when using essential oils! It takes only 22seconds after being applied to the body for the molecules to reach the brain, 2 mins before they are found in the bloodstream and 20 mins before they affect every cell in your body! Which essential oil you choose to use depends on what it could possibly help for. Don’t think that just because you wash it off it’s not as effective and don’t think that just because there is an FDA regulation on something means that it’s not possible to still benefit from even if you can’t claim it as being beneficial! Mother Nature has been creating natural cures longer than the FDA has been around regulating what is mass produced from a garden or a lab! While certain things can’t be claimed, that doesn’t stop people from doing their own research and requesting such products made with said oils.

    Katie people genuinely love your personality and who you are. You're beautiful soul and everyone can see it. I personally love the raw /real life blogging I want to get a closer look at the studio and see the bars of soap curing on each shelf. And see all the crafting supplies and how they kept. No because I want to be a soaper just because I find it so interesting. It's relaxing looking at soap. I used to collect body shop items and I had a huge collection and I love nothing more than to just look at it. That's all long gone now as it's been replaced with kids toys lol 😂. So it's a little piece of that back. I enjoy hearing your thoughts and how the pregnancy is going. Keep being true to yourself and let us in on as much as you are comfortable with . Functional is good💗But, can you give us the quantities of the additives? I'm from Brazil, and here the cold process is just beginning. We don't have much references or guides. I can't find a good fragrance, they all make a mess in my soap!! I can't find micas to buy here!! So I prefer the simple ones! I'm a fan of you and your soaps. I don't know if this is possible at all, but my friend has severe skin allergies and she's allergic to red dye, coconut, cinnamon, and (this is the tough one) all plant based oils! She hasn't been able to find a soap anywhere that doesn't give her a rash, so she's mainly cleaning with honey, and dealing with the rash every time she needs a deep clean. Do you know of any recipes without these allergens? I can't find any in my various googles, but you know more about soap than I do :)

      Most of the time the reactions people, babies included, have to fragrance oils are from poorly or improperly diluted essential oils (note: essential oils can be made synthetically and it's the easiest way to get production costs down). Nature's garden, as a brand, tries to avoid that by providing the highest percentage of oil content should be in a product before it either ruins it or becomes a senstive skin risk.
      Scented products aren't really a high risk issue for children and babies unless they have a preexisting skin condition or the product is intensively overused on your kiddos.
