Thanks for your video. By the way, It has been 1 and half years over since your visa expire. So I am just curious to know whether you got permanent Visa or you got your way back to home country.

Are bar jobs, or working at a supermarket or something more urban a better bet for someone who wouldn't want to work on a farm

Yes they would be some of the options for anyone who doesn't want rural work. However, I'm not sure that the supermarkets employ people on WHVs as they tend to look for longer term staff I think.

I wonder, what would you say about staying away from the big cities all together when it comes to work?
And what city is the best starting point to go from to the country side?
    Have a nice day!

It's quite a difficult one, in as much as there are more jobs in the big cities but also more competition! Most people head to the big cities, so at peak backpacker times jobs can go fast. I have to say that if you are willing to work in a rural location, a couple of hours outside of a city there is usually work to be found , as being that cut off isn't for everyone. Agencies like the job shop, or strawberry trail placements on facebook can help find rural work. I'm not really sure on the best city as a starting point for the countryside but I know with Perth (West coast) you have the Wheat Belt not that far away, along with Margaret River further south. Unfortunately I only visited the cities on the East Coast due to limited time. Thanks, you have a great day too!

thanks for the message back! I have heard that perth might not be the best place right now, heard they have a little mining crisis with lots of people without work, and because perth is very isolated it's maybe not the best place to be if its true what i heard!
So was maby thinking of starting somewhere on the East coast!

No problem! Yeah I know mining was going downhill job wise even when I left, and that is a very fair point about Perth being isolated. Maybe start in Melbourne or Sydney? Good luck wherever you decide to go first :D

Hi there! The information in this video was for people on a Working Holiday Visa which is granted by the Australian government for people from certain countries aged 18-30. Head over to the Australian Government website and see if you are eligible for a working holiday visa :) There are other visas available that will let you work in Australia but I have no experience of them, sorry
