I used to live near by Junren. I haven't been there over 20 years... Now, I'm living in Germany and miss the place so much. Shingen was also one of my favourite shop. I'll be in Sapporo in a few weeks so I'm looking forward to visit either of them (or may be both).

Wow! Finally we know what Frank eats when he's not having ramen! Love miso ramen! I'm not too fond of porky broth (but maybe it would be ok in the middle of winter) so the first and fourth bowl appeal to me the most. The first because I'd like to try the original miso ramen. But I think the fourth bowl stands out because I like broth that's rich but not porky. Would definitely love to try it with corn and butter too!

Need to make sure you have some noodles nearby before playing a video 😊. Glad you liked this one. It's a long list after ramen - sushi, soba, udon, sisig, laksa, khao soi, kottu, mapo tofu, pierogi, pad thai, bun bo hue, pizza, to name a few! Might be a fun video in the future, making a list!

Thanks so much for watching and for following! Great question. The training here isn't really that formal - although some people might go to an actual ramen school. What often occurs though is people working at ramen shops and then opening their own places. More famous ramen shops may have have more cases of this.
I received both the Sumire and the Junren in past orders; Both excellent, but I seem to remember liking the Junren just a tad bit more. If I remember correctly, the Sumire was thicker and, I thought, a bit richer tasting, and the Junren toned it down a little. I could be mixing them up though because I did receive the Sumire twice and the Junren only once.
Just like me in the video on site, it seems like Junren's instant version got you more excited 😃 Similarly, Sumire has a thicker soup because of a bit more pork lard. Your new pack includes some other ones...but of course with thick noodles 😃

Im still undecided if I want to visit Hokkaido because of all the snow but Im excited to try my first miso ramen at Santora when I get to Toyko.
