Frank, the ramen content is, of course, superb, but we also appreciate your more expansive palate, too! While one may live on ramen alone, the universe of food is vast, and one should eat widely. Thanks as always!
Hi Frank…..thoroughly enjoyed everything in this video….the ramen, chicken burger and all the sights. Thank you so much for facing the cold weather and snow. Gambatte!! 😊🇨🇦
Your channel is my favourite Japanese food series, Frank! Watching the non-ramen sections made me realise there's no other channel like 5am Ramen that provides such great steady footage of the food and surrounds combined with detailed taste descriptions and local and historical knowledge! Looking forward to the next video!
Reading that warms my heart like shio-seasoned ramen soup does 😃. In this video we indeed covered it all! But heads up - it's almost all ramen from here on out 😅 (the rest of the series). As always, thanks so much for watching. Next up, Sapporo!
Frank m soooooo happy u posted! This was such a cool video , loved it to bits. Plz post more ramen videos.... Like actually having the ramen( hope that didnt sound creepy😂)
Thanks for watching and happy you enjoyed the video! I need to get on a faster video posting schedule...I think I have about 50 ramen videos that still need to go up 😅. Usually the actual eating footage is pretty short (harder at popular places when they're busy) but would be nice to do some collabs where we have the ramen shop to ourselves and can eat and talk!
Thanks for coming along for the ride! Even though you don't get the "Japan experience" with things like temples and shrines, Hakodate is a great city to visit.
Happy to hear it - thanks for watching! Ramen should always be at the forefront 😃. Just uploaded the next video in the series: ruclips.net/video/n91QqmU5OOE/видео.html
I need my winter coat watching this video, even in this 90F Southern California day. I’m not a raw seafood person, but your breakfast bowl looks scrumptious. Totally agreed with you about Starbucks. Thanks Frank for another awesome adventure.😘😘
Thanks for watching, as always! That breakfast bowl might get you somewhat hooked on raw seafood 😃. More cold weather ramen to come in the next video, in Sapporo (Japan's miso ramen capital)!
One thing that would change your ramen-videography game - a flexible camera stand, so you can film on eye level (or even facing down, to show you and the food you're eating).
That's a good call too - looking to invest in one of those tiny cameras that can do just that. But plz note that I have 35+ videos of backlog that will become before that 😅
Lucky Pierrot looks like too much fun. A buddy of mine visited a location in 2018 and managed to polish off a Double Katsudon. Not sure how, since the portion size was massive. 😂
It's crazy fun! Double Katsudon?? Wow - maybe there's a statue of him somewhere in Hakodate. At one point they had a "Goryokaku Tower Burger" too - crazy tall.
I'm split between Otaru and Asahikawa for my fav place in Hokkaidou . Both places are beautiful and have tons of fun things to do though I've only been to Hokkaidou in winter so I'm not familiar with what it's like in other seasons (though the only good thing about summer is matsuri 😋)
You know, I've also only been in Winter! I'm sure Hokkaido is just as beautiful during those other seasons, summer included. Both great cities. After 1 more video in Sapporo, we're going to Asahikawa for ramen!
Hakodate is one of my favorite cities in Japan! Can't miss the AM market, but I'm surprised you didn't mention Goryokaku! Incredible place for hanami in the Spring and momikigari in the Fall, and also incredible when blanketed in snow. Keep up the great work, sir, glad to see your followership growing! BTW, probably not appropriate, but in your blooper, I almost thought I heard you say "whale oiled machine", which reminded me of the whale store near the AM market.
When I was writing the script (the audio portions when I'm not talking on the ground), I knew I forgot something (Goryokaku) 😅. Both Ajisai and the Lucky Pierrot branch were right next to it too. I've only seen it from the tower in Summer - awesome that you've been inside! Didn't see the whale store but I'm sure it's still there! Thanks for watching 😊
Hi, how did you find out the location of the Bus Ramen? Am heading to Hakodate in Fec and came across your video. Am really interested to try the Bus Ramen !
At least when I was there it was right outside this hotel: goo.gl/maps/kyruvLcSsjU7zMf56 Hopefully that's the case in Feb! I ended up taking a cab and we had to look around a bit before finding the above location.
Actually, I've never really good fresh uni. I certainly didn't like the stuff I tried here in Virginia. It seems like the j-vloggers are following each other around - Hakodate, Yamagata, Nagasaki. I keep seeing the same places, but everyone has a different take on the places they visit. I hope you do some more off the Yamanote line series soon. Take care. Wear your 😎! I remember that instant ramen. I was very good.
Hopefully fresh uni in Japan changes that! Yes, we all end up having similar travel routes 😅. Although mine is a noodle laden one. I need to do a proper Nagasaki trip (for champon)! And yes, once Japan is closer to reopening (hopefully Autumn) I do want to restart the Yamanote Line series...haven't forgotten about that one.
First I'm so addicted to watching food and travel videos. You're next level
Thanks so much for watching! I'm just a humble ramen eater 😃
Frank, the ramen content is, of course, superb, but we also appreciate your more expansive palate, too! While one may live on ramen alone, the universe of food is vast, and one should eat widely. Thanks as always!
You're making me missing Japan now
It's nice that Japan is finally reopening...hopefully fully reopened by the Fall or early next year.
Hi Frank…..thoroughly enjoyed everything in this video….the ramen, chicken burger and all the sights. Thank you so much for facing the cold weather and snow. Gambatte!! 😊🇨🇦
Thanks for watching! Tried to pack a lot into this one and glad you enjoyed it 😊. Next up - Sapporo!

I really liked this video. The combination of food content at the front and tourist attractions at the end is magical!
Thanks, and happy to hear it! Definitely wanted to share some Hakodate sightseeing spots, it being one of my favorite Japanese cities.
Such a beautiful place. I enjoyed the sightseeing and the food featured in this video😊
Hakodate is a gem of a city that many people don't visit (even when going all the way up to Hokkaido)!
Loved the more expansive food review of this video and great to see hokkaido in winter
A little change up in this video and happy to hear you enjoyed it!
Incredible work! Thank you for the Ramen content
Thank you for watching! Will keep the ramen content coming.

@@5AMRamen oh yeah def, that wud be awesome 😊
Watching Frank eat ramen, awesome; watching Frank eat non-ramen . . . priceless!
Lol. Couldn't say no to the other local delicacies 😃
Thanks for the food tour and look around Hakodate👍👍👍
Thanks for joining the tour! Was so happy to be back in Hakodate.
Thanks for taking us there, Frank! The ramen and sceneries and everything looks sooo nice 😭👍🏻
Thanks for coming along for the ride! Even though you don't get the "Japan experience" with things like temples and shrines, Hakodate is a great city to visit.
Hamburger looked great and the seafood bowl....lucky you
I like how Hakodate is compact too - don't have to travel far to enjoy all these different foods within a short period of time.
Frank, I enjoyed this a great deal. The other foods were good but I love ramen 🍜.
Happy to hear it - thanks for watching! Ramen should always be at the forefront 😃.

Really want to try the shio ramen with seafood influence. Looks like the soup would have great sweetness as well as the shio savoury goodness.
Yes! Sweet and savoy coming together. Nice seafood elements but they weren't overwhelming.
One of my goals is to get back to Lucky Pierrot one day👍
And you will!! Or maybe we'll even do a collab up there 😊
I jus like all the food in this one I'll eat about three bowls a sitting....at each restaurant
Your stomach is like a bottomless pit!
Frank: It's cold so the weather is perfect for ramen. Also Frank: It's the middle of summer, it's the perfect time for ramen.
Lol. Cold or hot temps, rain or shine, ramen is mine. Next video in the series is up: ruclips.net/video/n91QqmU5OOE/видео.html

Anything Raman unique in wakkanai?
I haven't been but from what I know there are some ramen shops but not that many standouts. Would still be fun to go tho!
You’re production value away from being a great channel.
Yeah, probably should upgrade from my using my phone for a lot of the outside shots at one point 😅
@@5AMRamen It's all part of the process I hear. Keep doing well! I'm living vicariously through you :D
