OMG I love Nikki and Lincolns shirts 😄 Major congratulations on 50 episodes - Hope ya have a GREAT many more - Game Night is the superior place to go to see how a game is played and how fun it is - Ty ty sooooo much all of ya 🥰
You guys are so lovely, I appreciate the effort you put into your videos. This was a good episode, Nikki did an awesome job with the explanation :) Thank you!
Great video guys, and it's always nice to see Deborah joining you. I don't know if I'd buy this one or not, but I'd certainly like to play it, thanks for posting.
This board game was set up for a trial play at my local shop. Normally I'm not a fan of tile laying games, but this was so fun!! I just spent waaaaay too much money on four new games and two expansions, but this one will be next up!
Nikki the Queen of Outlet Malls; Deborah the Lady General (referencing their It's A Wonderful World game); Lincoln the Temple-master; both Deborah and Lincoln are the Tenement Kings; Nikki the Parkmeister! haha
I tried Cascadia and Akropolis at spiel in Essen 2022. Cascadia (SdJ winner) was ok, but Akropolis I bought after playing once. We have played it a lot me and 2 kids.
I think Nikki is becoming a lot more comfortable explaining games. Not sure about this game but Im only on the rules explanation so far - lets see. as always thanks for the upload
40:07 ooops.... Lincoln put that tile right on top of another one and did not cover 2 different tiles - he cheated a bit *lol* 1:03:17 in the end he even lifts that tile to show what he had covered and still did not catch it - but I guess, those little mistakes happen - it earned him 3 stones and doubled th points for those houses being level 2
Interesting game. I like it. It has a simple rule set and it's quick playing. It's kind of like one step more advanced than Kingdomino/Queendomino...it has a similar scoring mechanic with the multipliers, with just enough extra rules to give it a little more meat on the bone, but not so much that it makes it complex. I need to pick this one up.
Matt, did you notice the tiles moved places between 5:00 and 5:15!?! I was already strategizing based on their order, and then they changed! 😂 Also, have you played on BGA?
I do think if you play another game, you'll make different decisions. Both Nikki and Lincoln put a tile that had two quarries and a plaza on the 2nd elevation level...yeah, you got the immediate reward of three stone for the quarries you covered which helps flexibility on your next few rounds, which is good, but you are unlikely to cover those 2nd level quarries and a plaza doesn't get you anything on the 2nd level...you probably would have been better off placing those tiles on the base level...even if you have no stones and have to buy the cheap tile, whatever color spaces it has, will get the benefits of that 2nd tier elevation and THEN you'd get the 3 stones for covering up those same quarries. ...but those are tough decisions to make, it's easy for me looking down on high. The other thing I was thinking is, at some point, you will probably have to either 1) double down on one particular color (like Deborah did with red-military and Nikki did on yellow-markets)...and/or 2) abandon one color as being non-productive (meaning, you're not going to score any points for it, so feel free to cover it, or mess up it's normal scoring pattern). Those are the kind of decisions I like in a game like this. You start off on equal footing, but depending on what players take as they grow, they'll naturally branch off into those kind of arcs...it's not a game where you can just say "I'm going to go for Markets this game and grab every yellow I can get" because you might not get those kind of opportunities. This is definitely a game where you have to make the most with each of your turns, especially when you aren't the chief and don't get two tiles.
Matt, I played a game on BGA in which one of my opponents - after I'd said that I heard you'll likely not get to the three level (I'd never played, it was the first game for all of us) - he, of course, went for it... and got to the third level REALLY quickly. Like maybe by his fourth or fifth tile placement. And yeah, one of those second level covered tiles had quarries on it, which was cool. He did end up winning... but just barely... and only due to how the tiles came out on the final round. Had the player before him that round had 2 stone instead of just 1, the three-level guy would have lost.
Eric, I've only played once on BGA, but the combination of maybe not having enough stone, plus not wanting to cover stuff near the end of the game (since it all likely scores something), plus having the last round (or two) of tiles usually having something that's obviously better than the rest meant the AP - for us, anyway - if anywhere, was mostly in the second and/or third fifth of the game. Our final rounds went quickly.
Curious what the scores would have been if you followed all of the variant scoring. I could calculate them myself, but I’m too lazy. Anyone else want to do it? Lol
Initially, I thought that Deborah had a fake beard on in the thumbnail, and I was admittedly a little disappointed when I realized that she wasn't going to wear it in the video..
I love that this is the Episode 50... what a joy! Thank you Lincoln, Nikki and Deborah. We love you, guys!

I love this game… it’s been great with every group, scales well, and has a nice implementation on BGA!
Heh, the learning curve there on rotation/placement, though, is a small bit of work ;)
I love hearing how Deborah thinks through her turns, "let me do some math here". A very good episode from all.
40:07 - Lincoln can't stack one piece on top of just one piece. It has to cover two or three pieces.
Yeah, I noticed that!
Glad it wasn't just me
Aaaaaaah! 50 in a row! Great work, folks, you are my instra-click the moment I see the thumbnail. Please keep it up for another 50+, or more. 😊😂😉

One of the few games I stood in line for last year at Gen Con to buy. It still hits the table a lot. IMO it's best with 4
Great video guys, and it's always nice to see Deborah joining you.

That Gamegenic dice tower is dang nice.
Well this looks like a delightful puzzle.
This game is so smooth! What a joy!
Love this game - so slick. Great video!

Well...I'm Greek and I really enjoyed this episode a lot !😅 (All your episodes as a matter of fact are awesome! Thumbs up like always!)

It's a fun little game, you can play a full game in about 15 mins.
Would it be wrong to say I'm sad to see Deborah, only because I want her to be on a soundstage somewhere, hassling Charlie Cox? But why not both?
I think Nikki is becoming a lot more comfortable explaining games. Not sure about this game but Im only on the rules explanation so far - lets see. as always thanks for the upload
I played a solo mode on TTS while watching this video and got 121, too!

This looks cool.
And it showed up this week on BGA!!!!!

Love it when Nikki does the 'splainin'!

Yay!
31:15 Think Deborah paid 1 too many stone there to take the second tile. Wasn't it 0-1 in cost because she paid 2 for tile 2.
This is like a level up to Kingdomino. No pun intended.
Great episode from Board Game… gReek 😂
For some reason, the volume isn’t always working with this video on my end. Does this gameplay include the variant options?
Is this the shift from trading in the Mediterranean to building in the Mediterranean? :)
The stone bank - in Britain that would have been Northern Rock :)
I have a fascination with this game. The exponential AP has got me scared.
I think people would love this game, but many would tunnel down on this,
.

In conclusion, Deborah wins by building SPARTA!!!!!!

I wish the plazas were designed differently.
