I rarely swear on the course because over time I've forced myself to stop doing so I can move on to the next shot with a clearer head. It's a personal thing for me. If I let out the frustration and can't seem to cool off fast. If I just shut up and move on I seem to get way better results. Definitely have had my share of meltdowns though.
Plus, it’s a lot better to swear than banging or throwing your club, or damaging a tee marker like Henrik Stenson did, or spitting into a hole like Sergio Garcia did. You can’t bottle anger up, otherwise it becomes progressively worse.
Garcia is such a wussy. If I saw him doing that on our local course he'd get a couple natives set on "keeping an eye on him" at all times. Maybe cheer very loudly for him when he is entering his back swing as well hehe
It amazes me that they have microphones everywhere and then apologize when they get "live" commentary from the players. I personally like the emotion, the frustration, the swearing, it shows they are not perfect and golf has a way of making you do that!

No, the club pro said with a huge smile, "Goddam it that's what I fucking mean. Don't swear."
I once heard someone that we paired up for the round say: " That won't help a fu*king hen lay a GD egg." Didn't fully understand the comment but my brother and I were both laying on the green laughing! Funniest moment ever on the course! Inebriation was a factor.

On of the greatest outbursts of profanity in golf history was in the late 80s. TV had just started Thurs-Fri coverage of tournaments on cable, and Curtis Strange was struggling at Sawgrass. He got picked up expressing his extreme displeasure with Pete Dye's masterpiece. "Fuck this goddamn motherfucking golf course." Unfortunately, I've yet to find video of it anywhere online.

I love how announcers apologize for this. If your watching golf, its a really high probably you play golf, and if you play golf its a 100% chance you have said the same stuff as these guys.
