Just got to chapter 4. Been using him as a ninja with a katana and dagger for versatile finishers. 1 lightning, 1 air, and 1 finisher that has a 5 tile range. Also poison skill to poison enemies.
I like all your choices here, never thought about using Denam as a Ninja though, since he is always on the front line; but I can see how this would have made your team more versatile in a lot of the story battles. Good video! Keep up the good work!
I ran Denam as a Rune Fencer whole game.. just about to head to Hanging Gardens. Once you finish Heim, head to the 24 floor of Potd and pick up the summons.. rune fencers can acquire summons. I also took Cat as a princess so I lost out on Lord.. but having access to summons is strong so rune fencers are really strong. Boon, ease, summons, healing… yes please. I also went sword and bow with Denam.. so many finishers and with the spells.. he can truly do anything. Not so much a front line tank or damage guy.. more of a Swiss Army knife for any battle
I think those're probably the three most common options for Denam that I see people use. I went berserker, and while berserkers are great... they're only great on levels where they can get around and their berserk won't hit their friends. They're a great unit you want to be able to bench, which means a poor choice for Denam. I made him a buccaneer later with Lombardia and another 1H sword so he had counterattack+parry+speedster+evade, and that worked out great.
yeah i made the mistake of trying berserker on denam like early chapter 1 and it didnt go well due to how auto berserk is a thing and it was at that moment i was like maybe rune fencer lol
Commenting at the beginning and may edit after I finish the video. I liked Denam as a Rune Fencer for a good while, only recently (doing the Apocrypha quest) did I change him to Terror Knight for a bit, and then Dragoon to help clear out the monsters. I'm on my first playthrough, Law, and saved Catiua, so no Lord class until later. Just watched your Stat growth video this morning and was debating if I should make Denam a Buccaneer with just a sword, purely for the stats growth. It's a shame Denam can't use the Knight Commander class. He skips straight from Generic classes to Lord, seems a little silly to me but oh well. I remember reading a lot of suggestions saying to make him a Ninja, but I found that class to be underwhelming for anything besides inflicting status ailments.
Well, I'll give Ninja a try again. It may have just been that my other Ninja just sucked. I can see the benefit of steelestance on him. My only minor hookup is that I like to stick to a few weapons to master. Definitely never considered giving him a bow as a Rune Fencer before, so I might try that later and with the Ninja too.
The terror knights special attack with a weapon that inflicts breach is the ultimate debuff especially against the Dark Knights. It turns the Dark Knights into an average unit lol.
Despite loving Rune Fencer generally, I personally don't like Denam as a Rune Fencer because his main advantage to exploit in my eyes is that he has such strong base stats that no class weakness is actually that big of a weakness. If he's a rune fencer, he's just a versatile class that's uniformly improved in a not-so-noticeable way, and with no single gamebreaking ability. I personally go with Berserker because I don't trust a squishy generic with it, that damage is too tempting to not strategically take advantage of (I usually just don't keep Denam near my other units), it fits well with my strategy to break as many objects as possible and stockpile cards at the beginning of every match, and it transitions perfectly into a broken Lord class that can combine Berserk with double hit and Mighty Impact, and maybe even Phalanx to be a one-man army.
@@faizedfoxgaming7426 By the time you get access to summons, Denam's likely already a Lord that can use summons, though (that's usually the path I go, anyways).
@@richardkhchang yeah i choose princess first so untill i do more potd i wont be replaying any story stuff to get lord i havent even beat the game yet only beat up till heim
IMO, for majority of the game, the best Generic class for Denam is RF. All rounder stats growth. Second best would be knight. A tanky support Denam is great for the entire game. Third best class? Anything but cleric. However, my favorite class for Denam is Warrior with Dagger+Sword. This way, he has close + mid range finishers and two chances of parry every turn. He can play very offensive like FFT's Holy/Dark Knight by spamming finishers. Heart Crusher is a nuke and Rending Gale is a story boss killer (2h sword is also good but it doesn't get its range finisher until lv 30. And parry is a lot better than counter esp against buffed bosses). Thx for the upload
yeah i agree but some people said it has the worst stat growth but i would rather have the all around for when he becomes lord plus u got stat charms that can fix anything
@@faizedfoxgaming7426 Exactly. IMO, all charms that players can get from the story battles should be reserved for Denam, because he lacks bonus stats that most uniques benefit from their special classes for 36 levels. Even with those charms consumed, WKs and KC still beat him in overall stats lol.
My Denam uses magic so Rune Fencer then cudgel + 1h sword Lord class for him. Summon lv.2 handles most things and if he needs to fight close quarter, close in and sword finishing move. Skill is cudgel, 1h sword, meditation, and conserve MP
@@faizedfoxgaming7426 One thing though I am not sure if I really need the cudgel skill. I put it only for imagined extra magic damage. But if the damage change is miniscule I probably will try another skill in its place.

Thats cool u took the time to do that and weigh em all kind of equally. I would say rune fencer on denam is like a mini lord its basically like a class that just works so well for him its insane
My Denam had been Knight for most my Law campaign but I switched to Terror Knight early in Chapter 4. Knight got less and less impressive as time went on in my campaign. Knight is very tough, but so what? The AI goes for the stuff that it can damage more easily anyways. There are no Aggro Mechanics. So with Knight Denam being ignored, the damage output he did was poor. He wasn't really putting in conditions, and his damage dealing was mediocre. He became simply another battery for Heal. Even my other regular Knights got used less and less. Terror Knight was different. Inflict Fear with a PBAOE aura or use 25pts to do it with 100% success on a melee attack. Couple that with my Claymore+1 for Breached effect, I sent TK Denam to take on the toughest threats. Fear + Breach effects by a single character, start laying in big damage with Denam, and set up the other party members to do even more damage. TK isn't as sturdy as Knight, but just tough enough for the job. Also there's a Dark spell where you siphon off HP from enemy NPCs, so TK Denam can still top off his HP a bit if needed.
i agree knight is pretty useless most of the game cuz his main selling point is phalanx but the enemy wont target a unit it cant deal lots of damage too so they just ignore him what good is a tank without taunt...white knights are best knights :)
I say you use Knight wrong lol Knight can be damage spons, absorbing damage with guardian aura? from attacker front liner like berserker or tk or backliner like shaman or witch It made later potd floor survivable from 1 hit archer to mage
I actually made him a Dragoon with 2 handed swords. seen my entire team wreck through those nasty beasts and or dragons when needed. Made alot of battles alot easier. Wished i could make him a White Knight though.
yeah ninja's controversial because when it comes to inflicting conditions from ranged, casters or archers are better. their dmg is meh but if you have a mage denam (from initial questions) and have been levelling him up as wizard and giving him int+ gear, ninjutsu is like a poor man's summon. so yeah a physical ninja denam, i'd pass. a mage ninja denam works very well quite surprisingly. baldur's bow + benumb to inflict conditions. then ninjutsu to deal dmg.
@@faizedfoxgaming7426 swordmaster only works if you level denam up funnily as a cleric. the key on the swordmaster are the dances. being able to aoe weakened/breached/slow is potentially strong. those only increase in effectivity if you have a high mind (and the spellstrike item). if it's just a physical swordmaster, you're better off just going TK.
