    Wow, your presentation was very impressive! You are a natural instructor, well-spoken and precise. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe! My daughter (not a young girl like you, she's 34) loves maple candy so I thought this year that I would make her some to send in a package with a maple candle. It's always fun to get a surprise package in the mail, right? Thank you again for this lovely production, you are very mature!

      @@sajwellebeing Success! Tonight was very glad to make the candy! It took 3 tries. In the first 2 tries, I followed the instructions, but the candy did not harden. So, then I boiled water to see if my candy thermometer may be off (Kitchen Aid / had good reviews on Amazon). Water is supposed to boil at exactly 100 Celsius. It appeared the water boil may have been coming up around 103 Celsius (reading). So, on the 3rd try with the syrup, I went to a reading of about 113 Celsius (as opposed to 110 C), which was probably 110 Celsius (235 F). This worked! Going forward I will know to boil a little longer and now I know that if it's not way lighter in color / thicker when stirring, there will be no need to pour into molds. I'll just begin again. In any case, thank you again for your instruction! Glad for this new skill!

    Hello from Canada! Thank you for your video. I have tried this now 3 times unsuccessfully, and I saw in the comments that the thermometer is often the problem. Could you let me know which one you purchased from amazon exactly, or what price range I should be looking for? Thank you in advance for your help :)

    • @sajwellebeing
      @sajwellebeing  3 года назад

      Glad you enjoyed the class. Yes it is often the thermometer and also it can just take a few tries to get the hang of. Here is the thermometer we used, it doesn't have be expensive just good quality. Sometimes you can find one locally at a store with cooking supplies. Good luck and happy maple candy making! 😊www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001FB6IFY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Can you use light maple syrup instead of dark?

    • @sajwellebeing
      @sajwellebeing  3 года назад +1

      It should not be a problem. Light syrup is just harvested earlier in the year when it is colder. I like dark, which is harvested later in spring, because it has a little richer flavor. Thanks for asking.
