My mom used to have to heat the bottle if real Vermont Maple Syrup, in a pan of hot water, to turn it back into syrup, for my dad's pancakes....lol. It would crystallize, so easily in cool, dry places.
That's how they made sugar in the "olden days"! It is described in the book "Little House in the Big Woods" by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Always fascinated me reading about that and visualizing what was happening.
I feel that, My great uncle runs his own sugar shack just for himself and to give away to people. He would make maple candies while making the syrup by boiling it and dumping the hot maple syrup in the snow. The candies were like taffy, so good.
The device is Creaming machine - used in traditional confectioners all over the world. I made this candy with my grandmother using precious maple sent by Canadian relatives. Made specifically for holidays and celebrations... cornflour moulds.
Amazing setup you guys have, very professional. I'm in Northern Ontario. We've had the perfect weather for syrup so far. I was tapping my trees in February. That's crazy!!
Now that's the way to do it Eh! Love the cascaded filters. was really impressed how much they took out. phenominal. Great video guys and explanations to us Neophytes. Thanks for doing it and better yet thanks for sharing.
Maple candy has been a lifelong favorite, but I can never seem to find any now as an adult! It's been over a decade since I last had some... and welll, I might just have to order some on my next paycheck.
First time i've actually seen sugar made in that particular way, seems like something that could be made at home to get a more natural sugar, without additives and bleaching agents.
Darn, I want some of those maple candy leaves now. I used to be able to find some maple creme cookies locally, those where delicious! 2 maple flavored maple leaf shaped cookies with maple creme filling. Yummy!
I used to buy maple cookies at Safeway, their select store brand. They were the best yum cookies. I don't live in the same state anymore, no Safeway here.
Love how the maple butter looks like caramel or butterscotch. In fact, that would be totally off the chain, could you imagine MAPLE CARAMELS and MAPLE BUTTERSCOTCH?!
I dated a Canadian a few years ago, and he brought me some maple leaf-shaped candy and a bottle of maple syrup. They looked pretty much exactly like in the video, I wonder if they were from that same company.
I was very intrigued by every thing is the video. It all seemed very well done. I will have to visit your website. You said that you coated the candies after they dried. What is that process like? I wish it was shown in the video.
Actually this is a video of making granulated maple sugar, maple candy and maple butter. but it's okay, it's satisfying to watch and I'm not complaining.
I'd like to have your delicious maple syrup products in my country, but I don't know if you export your products to other countries (I live in Mexico, in Jalisco), I love maple syrup, is really delicious, thank you for share your amazing factory of maple products, greettings from Mexico 😃

Do you sell that thick syrup you make the butter with? Because it would be an amazing molasses substitute!
That pot that stirs the boiled maple syrup must be the hardest pot to wash

Awesome video!
Do you just use the maple syrup as a coating for the candies?
Or is the syrup further processed somehow to create a coating mixture?
Thanks!
That’s it, I’m calling Matthew William to tell him that this is amazing
I’m surprised that the candies didnt come out saying “eh, sorry”
