Tyler Reddick Is Going To Be A Problem

- Tyler Reddick has been in the top 5 in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings for most of the 2024 season. Reddick has the most top 5s, the most top 10s, and the best average finish in Cup. Yet with only his second win of the season coming at Michigan this past Sunday people are only just now starting to realize the driver of 23XI’s #45 Toyota is a true championship favorite. Tyler Reddick is going to be a problem.

Do you think Tyler Reddick is the championship favorite?
Of course he’s likely gunna be the one to watch in the playoffs
Yes
2 wins, the most top 5s and top 10s, and the best average finish. I’d say yes.
no Larson, Elliott, Byron and Bell as championship favorites
Championship 4: Reddick, Buescher, Bowman, Keselowski
Edit: I hope yall look for karlcalvert046's comment regarding the Cutline. I know it's a longer read, but it's very interesting to see what the cutline would be like.
Imagine if Tyler Reddick wins the drivers championship and SOMEHOW the 45 misses the owner points championship so that Hamlin STILL doesn’t get his championship, even as an owner! 😂
I don’t see a situation where that happens, unless we get something like we got in 2022 where, ironically, the 45 team was the reason the 9 failed to make the owner’s championship 4
At that point, God hates him
@@Dark-ql7kn God doesn’t hate Denny Hamlin.
Just remember, Junior Johnson won six titles as an owner, including the first three-peat with Yarborough as driver. That was his consolation for reaching 50 wins without a driver's title.
@@bighand1530You know it's a joke right ??
I’ve been a Reddick fan since 2019 and I knew that he’d be a championship contender one day. And just like Harvick, leaving RCR was the best thing to happen to his career.
@theacgkid I know it was a while ago, but welcome back anyways
You know Richard Childress is steady kicking himself for letting Reddick go. Richard should at a minimum offered Reddick a 2 year contract at the time or most likely a 3 year.
When Dale Jr. retired, I chose to follow Reddick bc he seemed like a good dude and he could wheel a car. My wife and I got to meet him in Wilkes at an Xfinity store for the Pocono race weekend this year. Dude did a question and answer session and actually took the time to speak to everyone and genuinely answer and converse with everyone again while signing autographs. That’s someone worth cheering for; he deserves all the success, accolades, and a larger following.
People tend to forget this was suppose to be his first season with 23xi if he stayed with rcr in 22 and 23 Reddick made more progress in his 2nd year with a new team than where he was at with rcr in his 3 years just shows that rcr was holding him back leaving rcr was the best decision ever now he’s arguably a championship threat and in position to win the regular season championship
Meantime, Kyle Busch is rethinking his RCR decision after so many DNFs
@@S.K.R.E.Inc. rcr is rethinking his decision on letting reddick go 😂
Something that needs to be mentioned is since reddik started winning he has won multiple races in every season and lets not even mention the number of wins hes al.sot gotten
This kid is definitely a future champion and hall of famer
Not just Tyler Reddick, look at CBell. I think those 2 are sleepers for the championship
Christopher Bell made it in the final four 2 years in a row. I think it will be 3 in a row.
Reddick, Byron, Bell, Larson is probably the championship 4 this season.
Reddick, Bell, Hamlin, and Larson for my final 4
Y'all are overlooking Blaney and Elliott
@@JGR4LIFE20I’m trusting Blaney to make it more than Hamlin. Ford will definitely ramp up their support for the 12
There's no such thing as a championship favorite with this system but championship 4 favorite yes. This is by far his most consistent cup season yet.
I want to argue that so badly bc of how good Reddick has been, but unfortunately you’re 1000% correct. lol
This shouldn't be news to anybody that actually watches Nascar. While everybody has been drooling over Kyle Larson and Willy B, I've been saying that Reddick and CBell are becoming top superstars. Maybe it's because they drive Toyotas and not Chevy's.
Anybody that calls Reddick fans bandwagons have no idea what we've been through.
But the thing with this championship format, peaking now means nothing. As a Byron fan….see last year.
And truex the year before
Tyler Reddick definitely is a championship contender. But if it were still a full season points format, the battle that he has with Elliott, Hamlin, and Larson would be one for the ages. But because of NASCAR's push for entertainment and not be a legitimate motorsport, that will never happen.
Thank Matt Kenseth for ruining it in 2003
@@S.K.R.E.Inc. Matt Kenseth didn't ruin anything. NASCAR ruined it themselves. They should've acted like adults instead of freaking out.
Correct. Absolutely correct.
@@S.K.R.E.Inc.i'm new to NASCAR(2nd year watching) , what did kenseth do?
God, give it a rest
As Eric points out, he has a 3.8(?) average finish the past few races, he’s my pick to win the championship
3.2
At the beginning of the year I picked reddick to win 5 races, all in the summer time, so I expected this, and I’m happy people are recognizing him as a championship favorite. Also NWP 400 gonna be also!
Currently my championship 4 prediction is
11 Hamlin
5 Larson
12 Blaney
45 Reddick
Here is mine
5 Larson
9 Elliot
20 Bell
45 Reddick
Larson Bell are obvious but Chase and Tyler have been underrated
Reddick is trending as a championship favorite, consistent and being in that top 10 every race.
Reddick by far has been one of the most consistent drivers, he legit has a chance to make the final four
Reddick is my pick to win the Southern 500, he dominated back in the spring so I expect more of the same.
Matt Kenseth 2003 vibes
Hopefully that means the points format changes again should he win. The Matt Kenseth rule, updated to Tyler Reddick standards
If he wins the championship I'll buy a donkey
the 23XI cars are just incredibly fast, if 2nd half season bubba can show up more throughout the season, both of them are gonna be super dangerous.
Wallace could have very easily have one yesterday, if he didn't get caught up in the wreck with Larson. For sure a top 5.
They are unofficial 5th and 6th Gibbs cars. Hope for their sake Joe doesn’t bankrupt them with the alliance like he did Furniture Row and Levine.
I don’t think it’s much Reddick as it is 23XI. Reddick and his team have consistently shown speed and ran up front the entire year. Hard to believe he only has two wins. It feels like he should have more.
he's essentially a less extreme Larson, not as flashy, but more consistent
Before the season, I picked Reddick to win the championship. Dude is putting together an amazing season so far.
I thought this season could be a good year for him. Bit if you would have told me he'd be doing this well i would not have believed you. When Reddick was first to get to 10 top 10s i thought that was impressive like you'd pat someone on the back for that. But this summer stretch has been underrated, Dale Jarrett and Jeff Burton said it best before and after the Olympics. Of course since Kyle Larson won at Indy, he instantly gets insane levels of hype but Tyler had been the best driver in the summer. At Richmond 2 prior to the race beginning Jeff Burton said he honestly might go out and hoist that championship trophy at Phoenix. As long as he doesn't fall off a cliff the way MTJ did last year Tyler Reddick could shock the NASCAR world but there is a long way to go. Especially since a lot of people at this time consider the #45 an underdog, they are the real deal if not this year in many years to come.
YES! I love Reddick! I hope he gets a championship soon
Reddick would technically have 6 wins this season if it wasn't for his miscalculated dive bomb at Darlington, the wall scrape at Chicago, the painfully effective block Logano threw on him at Nashville, and the lack of laps he had to chase down Larson at Las Vegas. Those were some tough pills to swallow.
I've followed Reddick since he was 14 wheeling (and winning) in dirt late models when he had long red hair. He grew up racing with Larson, and he's almost as good as Larson is. Dirt guys make the best NASCAR drivers, learning car control when it slides around, and I think they end up as good road racers as well, because they're used to having to turn the car both directions in the corner. He's not my favorite, but a guy I like see do very well each race, and I knew when he was racing the best dirt racers at such a young age, he would be in NASCAR eventually, he's been fast in every series, and I would love to see him have a shot at the championship.
The Background Music used in this video is nostalgic af because of the Nascar Racing 2003 Crash Compilation 2 video from CodyHGaming
You should do a video about the poor fan experience at Michigan and how the Track can be in trouble like the weather parking disaster and the long lines to get in at the gate
2019: Tyler Riddick part time in the 31 for RCR
2020: Tyler Riddick full time in the 8 for RCR
2023: Joins the 23XI Racing and drives the 45
I said reddick is the most talented in nascar in pure raw ability.
Reddick is a final 4 contestant this fall
Bet
When it comes to fan appreciation I think Tyler Reddick struggles with the same thing William Byron suffers from. We know they’re great drivers and will be up front 95% of the time. But rarely do they get picked to actually win the race.
I think he’s got as good of a shot as anyone to win it this year. Not my favorite driver but I’d be happy to see him get one! Would really like to see a showdown between the 45, 5, and 20 at Phoenix!
Look...Reddick is a very good driver who works for a smallish team...and now he has two wins. If he were driving for Hendrick, he would be the equal of Larson.
This is NOT a problem.
He's just a good driver, and yes....he is a threat...in the present NASCAR format.
LOL Wait he’s an equal to Larson but he’s just a good driver. Some of these comments just make me shake my head.
@@soccerthrowback0664 Poor word choice on my part. Try this....
He is quite simply, a good driver....and yes....he is a threat.
By the equal of Larson, I meant given equal equipment, he would likely have the same stats as Larson.
@@LyleFrancisDelp I would disagree, There were many races this year that were actually dominated by Toyota drivers, and if Larson had the equipment Reddick on those races, he’d probably be doing even better right now.
I think the championship 4 is going to be Larson, Hamlin, Reddick, and Blaney
Pretty sure Reddick is in the lead under the WC system
The Tyler Reddick experience
Some wacky early season win
Falls in the background
People realizing Reddick is having a sneaky consistent season (you are here)
Another drivers dominance puts him in the background again
Somehow worms his way into the Final 4
Winning the championship
I definitely think people sleep on Micheal Jordan's racing team. Both Bubba and Reddick are very strong. Don't be surprised if one of them ends up winning a championship in the future
Reddick, Bell, Larson, and Hamlin are looking like the championship 4 in my eyes.
Tyler Reddick vs. Chase Elliott for the latford version, let's goooooooo
I'm fine with either Reddick or Hamlin as champion
Same
Never been a fan of Tyler, but he is a damn good nascar driver
Wow, breaking news that Reddick is good I guess. I thought everyone who paid attention knew that already.
MTJs collapse last year is really harsh for the loss he endured. I have absolutely no doubt his performance fall off was directly attributable to what happened in his personal life.
I think Byron is still there for sure. He always stays consistently near the front and shows dominance when necessary. Everything for him is a calculation of the risks!
He’s a whole lot better then his teammate
Reddick is the second best driver in the series, EASILY.
This has been coming for a long time, and now that he’s in top equipment like Larson is, everyone else is seeing it.
Reddick and Cbell are the next cup series champion
Man that guy is looking good! I can totally see him being a championship contender if the team is firing on all cylinders come the “post-season”
He's definitely a championship contender.
I think Reddick might make it to the champ 4 weekend. but I think that he will have heavy competition to make it.
Corey Lajoie flipping was a sign that Tyler Reddick was going to Win
PS: I'm playing GTA 5 while making this comment
I was a schrader fan till he retried from naskar went a while with no driver then pick reddick when he was at rcr was glad he got out of that
Yes, I believe Reddick is a championship contender. With that said, he can have a bad couple of races in the playoffs and miss one of the cuts.
I have Byron winning the title this year but going off vibes I was thinking Reddick would get it
I think if Tyler Reddick keeps it up he might win the championship this year 😊.
A nearly 50 percent top 5 percentage. Insane
2024 might be his year
Y'all forgetting the McDonald's curse?
Can we talk about how funny the Ronald Reagan car is tho
I think that Reddick has been overhyped most of his career but I think he’s at his best right now. He used to be overhyped because he never carried his late race speed to the end, whether it be he exerts the car or he gets overrun by long run cars. But he’s really been able to reinvent some of his racing style, being more conservative at the start, and saving speed for the end of the race. That’s allowed him to be much more consistent and get better finishes. The only flaw I can see in him is that he often struggles to race defensively, especially on late race restarts. We saw just yesterday that when Byron was able to get ahead of him on the first restart, he made the mistake of letting Byron have room to move up the track, where if he held him closer to the bottom, Reddick would get more draft off Byron, allowing him to get more momentum and allowing him to move back up to break the draft. Sure he got the position back on the next restart, but there is the possibility that it doesn’t happen, and Byron steals the race from him. There was also COTA, where Reddick with the leading car, overshoots the corner and lets Byron by. Had more drivers capitalized he could have lost multiple spots.
Childress not signing him to an extension when he requested it is going to be one of the Worst cases of a team letting a driver go in recent memory.
And Dillon getting stripped of his playoff eligibility AND his appeal getting denied is pure karma
Larson,Hamlin,Reddick and Bell. Final 4
Naw Redick ain’t quite ready yet!!!
He is coming along though!!!
I do wonder if Gibbs will continue its level of support to Reddick and Wallace through the playoffs when competing for next playoff round spot’s against the Gibbs cars.
Wonder if he’ll try to bankrupt them like he did Furniture Row and Levine
He needs to stop overdriving the car though
Kinda like Larson at Ganassi
I think he's the championship favorite but something tells me that his pit crew will cost him the championship this year. Especially since Phoenix is a track position race
It's time for KG to respect him but he won't do that.
bro jimmie every single race during the 2000s and 2010s was a contender even in the start of the season when it didn’t matter so what are u talking about😂
Reddick leaving RCR saved his career just like it did harvick
Why both McDonald's scheme Bubba Wallace and Tyler Riddick?
One car was french fries and the other was ketchup.
I dunno about the rest of y'all, but I think I've got a pretty high fever of 2311 degrees as of late 😅
Wouldn't say favorite, but he's threatening. As long as they're not peaking at the wrong time, they have a great chance. Champ 4 bound, imo.
The guy can drive !😊
Byron coming back up too
Not a problem for me, I’m a fan. Toyota is the best manufacturer.
Ever since Darlington I've hated reddick
I think reddick, and the rest of the Toyotas are gonna continue to pull away as the best manufacturer,
Ford is decent all around but not as dominant anywhere
And Chevy is really in a hole. Elliott and Larson are the only guys who are consistently competing, but the rest look lost
Hello
First person.
Reddick peaking too early Toyotas always flop around the round of 12 if you go back to 2022
Who?
Good season, but he won’t make the final 4
He's done okay but he's still only has two wins on the season Larson with four William Byron with three all of the Hendrick Camp has wins
Tyler Reddick is the points leader though.
@@runrafarunthebestintheworldonly because Larson hasn't collected as many points the last two weeks....when he gets back in prime form he'll get back to the lead...... he's won at Darlington
Kyle Larson is your 2024 champion...
I don’t like him as a person, but I can’t argue his talent.
Dude just stop and get some help you can compare a 7X champ to a mid card driver just stop
Doesn’t matter with this format. Doesn’t matter if he wins 9 of the 10 championship races. Just need one guy to beat him at Phoenix and boom, no championship
Yeah almost like you need to be good all the time not just 9/10.....
And Bubba Wallace gets to keep his job because of his skin color, despite putting on a pitiful performance, compared to his teammate Reddick
It’s called black privilege
Tyler Reddick is one of the drivers who I'll not root for, because what he did in the 2023 Pocono race was really really wrong.
I think A Dillon cut across his nose in that instance. Personally, the incident that caused me to stop liking him was the block he threw in the 2020 Coke Zero Sugar 400 that took out KYLE Busch, Erik Jones Ryan Newman, and others
@@karlcalvert812 Yep, Tyler Reddick wrecked Austin Dillon, and that really made OPS Addie B cry.
Thats pathetic because Austin Dillon has no talent.
