Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel. If you saw my last video, you’ll know just how well a dishwasher tab was able to clean my oven glass door in just 12 minutes! Make sure you check it out - ill insert the card here. Since I was able to clean my oven door so fast and effectively I was eager to see if this method worked just as well on my oven cavity. First, I removed all of the loose burned bits from the cavity. If I was to do this over, I’d also wipe down the oven with water and paper towels before I started scrubbing. I then put on some gloves and took a bowl of warm water and dropped the red power ball from a Finish Dishwasher tab inside. I then dipped my dishwasher tab - white part down - into the bowl of water for a couple of seconds and started scrubbing the inside of the cavity dipping the tab back in the water as needed. I scrubbed the bottom and side walls. Since my heating element is at the top of my oven cavity I left that alone. You don’t want to scrub using the dishwasher tab on any heating elements or fans. The dishwasher tab will start to break apart over time so just grab a new one. I actually started to use my hand to move around the broken bits all over the oven and this was effective for me. Once the oven cavity got pretty dirty i wiped it out with water and paper towels so that I could see what I still needed to clean. Once I was satisfied I took more water and paper towels to wipe away the remaining soap residue. You’ll know you’ve cleaned up all of the soap residue once your oven dries and you no longer see a white film in your oven. I also took a vacuum to suck up anything left behind. While this method definitely worked to significantly clean up my oven, the whole process took me about an hour and a half which I was not expecting after having such quick results with my door. I’ll definitely be looking for a faster solution for the future. I hope you enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for watching and I’ll see you next time! Bye!

I've been using this dishwasher tablet method for over a year now. It has to be the hard tablet type, but I've found even the cheapest hard tablets out there work really well. It's definitively the best I've found to get rid of baked on marks. Yes, it can take a bit of elbow grease but it gives the best results of anything I've tried over the years.
Just put a 3 colour fairy type dish washing tablet in a fish pour boiling water over it put in oven on 100 C for an hr, then wipe clean
I’ve always used Oven Pride. You put the oven racks inside the plastic bag provided. Squirt some of the Oven Pride into the bag. I leave it outside for a couple of hours while I clean my oven. I then rinse the oven racks with hot soapy water and they are spotlessly clean. I’m thinking of trying the baking soda and vinegar next time just to see which is the best. I’ve never been aware of any strong chemical smell with Oven Pride. 🇬🇧

To effectively clean your oven, just heat it up, let it stay warm, spray it with an oven cleaner spray, let the foam work its way into the grease for a few minutes. Wipe it off and repeat the process if needed👍
Yes but oven cleaner spray has chemicals - which this method avoids.

It's the citric acid in the tablet see . Use citric acid and washing up liquid make it into a thick paste rub it on your oven leave it as long as possible over night then wash out with dippy water rince and its brand new works on glass enamel and steal and so navy other things

Use old newspaper vs. paper towels for the first wipe. You will save even more money by doing this.

Grease lightening is stronger and faster. Comes in a spray bottle and cleans while sitting in the oven. Takes about 45 minutes to clean the whole oven and that includes removing the cleaner after it removes the baked on grease.

It's the citric acid in the tablet . Easy way clean your oven is mix citric acid with washing up liquid make it into a paste rub it in your oven lean as long as 3 to 6 hours or over night then wash out with soppy water and rice it be brand new.
How much citric acid and dishwashing liquid do you use?
😁I found my method of cleaning the oven best. I took it out into the yard……then loaded it into the back of the ute and took it to the dump. Best part is I’ll never see it again. I haven’t missed it for a second, we do all our baking in the barbecue. Crispy chickens and smokey butterfly lamb roasts.Mmmhmmm

a faster solution is to use kitchen degreaser. it's also good on metal blades of ceiling fans.

Issue with this is I can never get rid of the baking soda. I go back in with a rag so many times and it still remains. Plus baking, baking soda isn't usually good

I just did mine the other day. The oven was made in 1960. Magic chef. The timer no longer works so I let it run for 2.5 hrs. Was shocked at how clean it was. Where did all the burnt-on food go? I should have made a video.

Not everyone has that option on their oven. Mine sure doesn't. I wish it did.
Would this work on a dryer with gum stuck to the inside?
Try running dryer to make the gum tacky. Use a scraper to remove as much as possible. Then, apply a paste of peanutbutter & baking soda. Scrub with a green Scotch Brite pad.
Make sure to thoroughly wipe down the area that had peanutbutter with with a little bit of dish soap and water to avoid oil stains from the peanutbutter getting on your clothes. Good luck.
How to clean double oven door
Dishwasher soap, even the liquids are extremely effective cleaners. They manage to clean dishes without any physical scrubbing right? I've use dishwasher soap for years to clean the bottom of our showers. Wet the shower. Pour a tablespoon or so of soap on to the bottom of the shower. Scrub it with a bristle brush for a few minutes and then leave it for half an hour or so. Rinse well. Keep pets away out of the bathroom. This is especially effective for the textured, non-slip showers.

Put flil on the bottom of ur oven for any spills remove afterwards and that part will stay clean
The best thing you can do is treat the inside of your oven the way you do the outside and clean it after every time you use it. If you do that, it'll take you a few quick and easy minutes of cleaning and you'll always have a crystal clean oven. 😉 👍

I use my self clean option 3 time in 1 day. I do that about 4 times a week..cleans the hell out of it....
How NASTY are you that you have to do it that often????
do not do this, you will ruin your oven. self cleaning is getting phased out from ovens/ranges because they ruin the motherboards and decrease the life span of the appliance.
You are basically destroying your range. First the temperature in self cleaning mode exceeds 1000 degrees for four hours, second the heat that escapes is destructive on the computer components on a range, third the heating elements life have now been cut in half every time you use self cleaning mode, forth the metal cabinet flex so much that eventually your racks will not be able to hold the wieght of a casserole pan, fifth the temperature censors life will fail due to the high heat, sixth the locking mechanism can and will fail and you will need to take the range apart to unlock it, seventh rhe control boards to certain ranges are on backorder and are very very expensive.

You know what's funny the whole thing took me an hour and a half also . What I had to do was turn it on to the clean mode and then go and have a couple of beers for an hour and a half .

I would strongly recommend wearing eye protection. If you get any of the dishwasher tablet in your eye it will cause a lot of damage.

Prevention is better than cure
If you don't let your oven get so dirty to begin with, you wouldn't have to spread around chemicals to clean it. I spray a sponge with vinegar or lemon juice solution after every use of my oven and give it a quick swipe. Oven is clean and the environment is happy.
Baking soda and vinegar and wet the inside a lot.
Add more baking soda at the end to coat like a paste.
Turn your oven 350 for about 1 hour.
Let cool 😎
Get sponge and hot or warm water 💧
And wipe it out.
Do NOT get on heating element 😤

Seems like a waste of dishwasher tablets since all you are doing is rubbing a hard soap. Was ROTFLMAO when I saw some recent vids where people where amazed at the new fangled things called brillo pads......
Get some brillo pads and some soapy baking soda, no vinegar.
Or warm up the oven and use the brillo to get a lot of it when its warm before later using the soapy/brillo.
Oven cleaner is harder work and not as effective .

Hi Simon - I am not really sure if the powerball actually does anything but I put it in the bowl of water for good measure.
I wonder if a steam cleaner would do the job? I have seen a few commercials on the web, and I have a couple of friends who swear their`s do the job in a fraction of the time. I can`t claim any first hand experience at all, but I certainly want to try one. At the moment I have an oven with a pyrolysis cleaning function. I think think it heats it up to 400C (752F) and it leaves a bit of as in the bottom of the oven, and everything is clean. The cycle takes about an hour, maybe a bit more, and is hardly any work at all.
the red ball was the important part of the tablet. otherwise use a normal everyday block.
The problem with bug zappers is that they neglect to tell you , as soon as you turn it on , you are attracting your neighbour's insects over.
The better the zapper the more bugs you get !

I'm a professional cleaner and the process to clean an entire oven (interior, exterior and racks) can take anywhere between 1-3 hours depending on the severity of the grime 🙂
A couple of tips you can use if you like in this method is to use a Scraper (with replaceable blades) to get rid of any caked on residue from the surfaces before applying the dishwasher tab.
Once the tab had been dissolved and coated all your surfaces go in and scrub with a wet steel wool pad and you will dramatically reduce the time it takes to clean your oven 😄

Scrubbing with steel wool will absolutely scratch the crap out of your stove and oven. NEVER, EVER, EVER use steel wool. Use a green scrungy pad at the most.
I hope you don't really use metal razor scrapping blades or steel wool on anybody's appliances.
