u cant fix the ranged class with more melee.... it needs more damage ranged to keep up. and bm should not be a dps spec. its guarranteed to get nurfhammered into the mud. MM with some fun rotation is the way to go
Bruh warriors lol. I main a priest and l always felt bad when I killed a warrior. They stood zero chance 😂 like I could stand still and kill them with button mashing 😢 every other class I felt like I had to try.
Very good takes! I would say though that Battleshout is just part of the rotation and helps to add a minor "skill gap" in warrior play (making it 10min+ is just adding blessing of might to warrior). Whereas pally buffs are not part of a rotation and thus should be extended. Also rogue combo points staying from target to target is not QoL its a big dps gain and massive pvp gain, so I think instead, the combo points should just not go away on your other target unless you build a combo point on a new one.
Hi Ben, I see your point that bshout is simply part of the rotation. The idea would be to make the class more accessible/friendly to play since a lot of pug warriors are a bit clueless (not their fault - I remember my first time playing warrior in 2019..floor pov lol) I am glad you like the idea of pally buffs being extended, the 5 minute duration just doesn't make sense considering how long the raids are. As for Rogue, you offer a strong middle ground on rogue combo points - it is true that rogues are campaigning for a large dps increase maintaining combo points. Not losing combo points from a kick or simple misclick seems fair. Do you think these changes should be done as runes? Or simple QOL patches?
I like your idea of QoL runes! Plenty of spots to add them. From their balance patches so far they seem to not want to touch the base game too much... just the additions like runes. So perhaps belt/wrist or even trinket slots can be the QoL slots! @@NOHITJEROME
I agree, so far they haven't wanted to adjust the base game at all. Having belt/wrist/neck etc be qol slots makes perfect sense. Unless we want to have 30 spells in our rotation lmao. Are there any other QOL runes you want to see next phase Ben?
Thank you Lamm, that means a lot to me. Although you are very kind, I am sure there are some problems assailing you in SOD. It's not all sunshine and rainbows over here, especially not in Ashenvale. (where I've been getting camped for 2 hours..) Do you have any changes you want to see in P2?
Thank you so much man, it’s always great to see you here! I really appreciate the support and your good vibes. Your work has always been an inspiration. Maybe someday we’ll team up beyond the comment section, who knows? 😄 Keep the epic content coming. It's creators like you who keep the community thriving!
If every class had one or two rune slots dedicated to class-specific quality of life improvements, that would be fine by me. Assuming that by final phase, every armor slot is rune-able, this leaves plenty of room for QoL changes.
@RoguesDiary I 100% agree with this, it's a good idea. We should have 2-3 rune slots that are dedicated to things like: longer buff durations, lower mana costs for said buffs, free rez without seed..etc. I am glad you see the reality which is EVERY armor slot having a rune. We can't seriously end up with 20+ castable abilities all on our bar. I'd need to get a new keyboard for that lol. Do you think QOL improvements take away from the original vision of the game though? Some of the quirks of the game like the short buff durations, high mana costs, needing reagents to brez, they are considered good things. (by at least some portion of the population) What do you think about that?
For paladin I'd like a slot where all choices extend the blessing duration and the choices buff freedom, protection and sacrifice. Freedom to give movement speed, protection to change the shield to magic immunity rather than physical immunity (or also melee to continue attacking, sac to provide a last stand effect or something. For warrior maybe make shouts give a personal buff.
I like the ideas grammy, giving us options to pick which we extend and improve. For example a rune to give freedom MS. Maybe a 2nd slot purely for durations since they are so clunky right now. Modifying existing spells similar to Exorcism. It's a good idea. Do you think they will go that route? Instead of new spells.
I kind of agree with the quality of life changes, but to be honest mages who don’t pass out water or people not keeping their buffs up are just lazy or incompetent players. I’ve noticed SoD has brought in a lot of new players who have a lot to learn… let’s not forget that SoD is a test bed for Classic+, so let’s try and not advocate for too many changes that take away from it’s charm. If you want the most “optimized” WoW experience retail is still there for you.
Hi HunterDude, it's true that mages not giving out water would feel like an indictment of the player. But have you seen any warlocks giving out healthstones? Feels like getting the holy grail if you actually get one of those lol. I like your take that this is more testing for Classic+..we don't need to go overboard. Few small tweaks here and there.
I wholeheartedly agree with Hunterdude. Not every class needs movement speed increases, not every class needs a kick and not every class needs to have 100% equally competitive damage specs. Leave every class their unique flavours and talents or we're creating retail 2.0, which we don't play anymore for a reason!
The buff thing I agree with Jerome, it's a pain to get the groups or raids buffed up and it's unnecessary in every way - just takes time away from actually doing the dungeon or raid.
Love how you think mages biggest problem is making water in stacks of 2. The problem with all casters are their damage in raids and dungeons is they are miles behind melee and hunters.
Perhaps I am making too much light of the balancing issues that casters face. Making two water per stack is just a funny and odd quirk of SoD, something that has rarely been dealt with in WoW history. I suppose I fear having to make stack after stack of water while my raid goes on without me to clear Gnomeregan..Scarlet Monastery.. Molten core.. as I keep making water 2 at a time. As for your main point, you are very right to be concerned about P2 caster balance. Spell ranks are causing big issues, for example Corruption being a level 34. The new rank comes at 42, which means Warlocks miss a massive power spike. What do you think can be done about the caster/spell rank imbalances? Should Blizzard finally get rid of spell ranks?
@NOHITJEROME I think blizzard need to implement some sort of spellpower from intellect conversion. .5 spellpower for every 1 intellect. That would at least allow casters to gain spellpower without having to depend on plus spellpower from raid items only and make getting a green item while leveling have use over just stm and mana pool increase. If they keep adding weapons for melee that are higher in raw base dmg then rogues and warriors are going to be insane after a few item drops in gnomer.
your suggestion of a spellpower-to-intellect conversion is a compelling idea! It elegantly addresses the need for casters to steadily increase their potency in a way that feels rewarding and progressive, rather than being overly reliant on sporadic gear drops altho wow as never been Integrating a .5 spellpower per point of intellect could indeed offer a smoother power curve, giving every piece of gear, even those seemingly inconsequential green items, a tangible impact on a caster's journey. It's about making every dungeon delve and questing adventure a step towards becoming a formidable force of arcane might. Your point about the escalating power of melee classes with each new weapon drop is spot on. If not addressed, we risk seeing a widening gap where the raw might of melee overshadows the nuanced art of spellcasting. and I like your solution wish blizzard was reading this comment section, WINK WINK! What are your thoughts on how this change could impact the game's economy and the value of intelligence as a stat? It's a delicate ecosystem, and every tweak has its ripples.
I’d rather they just changed every buff to last 30min baseline instead of a rune slot and Druid’s should just be able to learn ress same way shamans could learn dual wield
Hi Vidya, it's a great dream to have, every buff should last 30min baseline and it would make the game more enjoyable. But likely they simply want to fill in some "smaller" rune slots since otherwise we'll end up with 20 spells.. We'd need to play with TWO keyboards to be good at the game lol. Seems likely they shove a bunch of less desirable "minor runes" at us to fix bigger inconveniences. Love the idea of a questline for Druid rez. It'd be great even as a non-rune. Do you think Druids having res feels anti-classic though? It's very intended that they didn't have res back in the day, only certain classes like Priest had the knowledge/ability to perform such miracles.
It's a fair take vidya. I would love to see druid get a rez without a rune. But we will undoubtedly have to fill many rune slots and a rez seems as good a slot as any. Unless you can think of more qol slots to fill for druid instead
You've sliced right into the heart of a pivotal debate in the world of SoD - the balance between preserving class uniqueness and avoiding the 'one-size-fits-all' approach seen in retail. It's true, Rogues and their Fan of Knives (FoK) stir up quite the storm. On one side, there's the call for expanding toolkits to bridge the gaps between classes. On the other, there's the desire to maintain distinct class identities, ensuring each adventurer brings something special to the table. Lilje you might wonder why we need to change anything at all. I'd say it's because SoD is about giving players what they want. The most fun spells, the greatest hits. FOK is a "greatest hit" of WoW Rogue spells. Pushing your class to push to new heights never seen before/ A combination of all the best and most interesting spells that have ever existed for Rogue. What's your take on the balance between uniqueness and versatility? Do you see a middle ground, or are you a staunch supporter of keeping each class distinct and specialized, like a well-crafted blade with its own unique edge?
It's very scuffed Tomas but I hate to say it..rogue tank is probably a mistake. What can they really do to fix the spec? It's either unbelievably broken or useless
yes doomz gets the special TF rune, grants the rune wielder thunderfury for free without having to farm the bindings. (only applicable if you already had thunderfury in a previous version of the game of course :D )
Great video! One thing i really hope they do for Shamans in phase 2 is make it so ghost wolf doesn't cancel water walking. I just want to run across the sea.
Hi Big Cuz, it's a great suggestion. Another is to make ghost wolf no longer purgable. It's the funniest/silliest thing to be flag carrying on Shaman and get ghost wolf purged lol. Now we just need a water map to combine your suggestion and my suggestion. It shall be the most hated warsong map of all time :D
For warrior with zerker stance coming, a rune for either making overpower usable in all stances or slam proc Also blood and thunder from cata rune that also increases the number of mobs and thunder clap hits And yes rogues need FoKs without the annoying sound effect. Mage needs arcane missile proc
Hi Moto, love the idea of Overpower working in all stances, it's QOL without really changing the balance much. Stances feel very clunky in Classic, they always have. Sometimes (not ALL the time..) I accidentally getting stuck in the wrong stance for 2 minutes after I Overpower lol. Feel like a turtle that flipped upside down and needs to get back upright. As for Blood and Thunder, it would be a good balance to give warriors more AoE threat as they fall behind Shamans..Paladins.. though the class fantasy might be ruined. I'd love to see warriors be THE burly main tanks that tank ONE target max and do the best job at it. Unfortunately with the current balancing everyone has to be good at everything since the raids need to be cleared quickly. (since we all agreed in the community to that..) Glad you agree on FOK, though I'm curious what you mean by arcane missile proc - What proc would be generated by AM?
so it basically gives you a chance to have faster channeling arcane missiles while channeling arcane missiles? heard you like arcane missiles, so i put more arcane missiles on it. lol
For me the biggest problem for a warrior is the difficult to farming gold… fishing is difficult, to many ganks, cant farm any mobs because is to slow, we just got mining or herbalism
It's a big problem giulian like you said. most players have alts ie mage to farm gold and funnel the warrior. One thing you could try is selling tank services. I find that a bit annoying (as a non-tank lol) but it might work for you. Not sure if you've ever tried that before.
that makes sense, I can only imagine how much better that would be. we need a petition to make wow combat dragons dogma combat. that will get the kids back in lol@@TheWideMurloc
i reckon the QoL thing's would be cool to have as drops or epic quest rewards or something. Combined with having ranks on certain runes that are droppable either world loot or in raids etc. If we could run the raids for gear, runes, new rune ranks and QoL drops (say a spellbook that teaches mage table or lock summon or even stackable soul shards/ammo etc) would be cool and could make ez increased loot table without having to make new models etc
Love the idea of having qol rune drops (or just book drops in general) from the raid for small things like Paladin buff durations. Multiple ranked runes would be very interesting as well. An upgradeable mega-rune for each class lol. I like the idea of having more reasons to run the raid than just loot. Having QOL runes to look forward to throughout the raid would add a lot besides "oh great another mail piece dropped." Would you want to see actual BIS-level runes dropping from raids as well? Or did the current P1 system for runes work better for that?
@@NOHITJEROME I'd be happy to see some in the raid. but open to other ideas too, maybe achievement based ones 'complete 15 full clears of raid with no wipes' or something
So… here’s my take. I don’t really see any problem with SOD except for botting and economy. To be quite frank, I don’t agree with anyone who plays a game 40-80 hours per week and says they have a problem that only occurs if you play the game 40-80 hours per week. Anyway… just a casual’s opinion.
The economy is definitely going to be a big problem clark, it's a good take. The pre-bis cloaks for p2 are already 350g+. I don't want to mortgage my character just to get one :D. Do you have any ideas to fix the economy and the problems the game is facing at the moment?
Great assessment as usual Jerome, I hope they increase buff timers for both warrior and pally in phase 2. The priest buffing also sounds ridiculous, I'm guessing no other class has to spend that much mana buffing people
Hi Peateargriffen, I like your idea of increasing the buff timers especially for Paladin. 30 minute baseline is the bare minimum and fits perfectly with the current length of the raids. I can tell you from experience buffing on Priest is a waking nightmare. By the time I finish buffing..I'm OOM and we are halfway into the next room and someone notices my mana is zero and they start complaining. Makes me want to reroll Druid or Mage lol. The big question is whether they should add these "buff duration" changes as minor runes on belt slot for example. Or should they do an actual QOL/rebalancing patch next to runes? What do you think would be better?
That's fair to me, runes can be used to smooth our annoyances while also balancing classes. I'm sure most priests would be very happy to have free or reduced-cost Fortitude at the cost of a belt rune. Same for warrior..same for paladin. Though maybe some players would keep the rune off to experience classic the way the authentic way lol @@peateargriffen36
It's true neil as a clothie (specifically healer) I was able to get geared up in ridiculously efficient fashion. USUALLY in groups the healers get geared last. Something nobody ever mentions in the gdkp discussions.
Hi Jota, great idea. Let's get rid of purges and stuns while we are at it. Any spell that is considered unpleasant to fight against should be removed. In the end we will be wanding each other at full HP with no obstructions. :D But seriously I don't mind the idea of re-evaluating "unfun" mechanics. OW2 (I know..) got rid of most CC in one of their patches to make the game more enjoyable to play. If you had to get rid of ONE WOW classic mechanic, what would it be? Purges? For me it'd be stuns for sure.
@@NOHITJEROME As a main retri paladín, its tío hard to fight in PvP if priests are dispelling my seals constantly. And i can remind back in the day getting a port to Tb and a dwarf priest waiting at the destination just to purge world buffs which costs a lot of time. Maybe the Word here IS just delimit some kind of buffs that could be dispeled and other dont, like in this case, paladín seals. But OFC its not a terrible mechanic, thank to boons ;D. And answering about stuns, stuns are ok, but ofc not stunlocks. That IS ilegal ;D
Undispellable seals seem fair to me. I have learned a very valuable tip here on my priest. I was never dispelling rets and was unaware of how frustrating the seal dispelling is. Ahhh, thank you. Do you have more things you hate dealing with on ret that I can note down? :D
I like that idea jantmoen. There are some awkward overlap runes in the same slot ie chest where you can't run 2 good runes. I dream of collecting every rune and having them be relevant instead of just collecting them for something to do lol. Do you think that could lead to some unintended/overpowered consequences though? Some of the warrior runes come to mind..
I don’t understand the melee hunter thing. I play and enjoy hunter as a ranged class. If I wanted to play melee, I have several other superior options. I really don’t get it. It feels like it should remain a meme, and this comes from a long-time hunter main
100% agree. I don't get this theme about doing primarely dmg in melee not exciting on top of being in the raid without a pet via lone wolf rune. Player can have this in later expansions/retail, there is no need in classic/SoD
Hi FoxTrotting, glad to see some pushback on the melee hunter comment. I suppose the desire (at least for me) to experience Melee Hunter comes from wanting a unique playstyle for the most iconic and vanilla of all classes. We all know how Hunter plays, we've all spent countless hours shooting enemies while safely 40 yards behind our pet. Probably my favorite position to be when near enemies that want to kill me. :D The hook for Melee Hunter is that it the exact opposite gameplay as is typical. Up close and personal, every GCD matters. Plus it's a very common class fantasy in other games. Or movies, Legolas didn't get to just comfortably sit 40 yards away in every fight. Do you just feel like melee hunter doesn't fit in Vanilla WoW? That's a fair take, but it feels like one of the safest choices to add a new playstyle to the game without changing TOO much.
Thanks very much Capps. This means a great deal to me. I suppose I am mainly passionate about not having to create hundreds of waters for everyone next phase lol. (somewhat joking) I hope they do something about the 2 x water per cast situation. I'm sure you have something you are passionate about for P2 yourself. What would it be?
@@NOHITJEROME I am very curious about - high level quest rewards in p2.. Are red level 40 quest available in eg feralas? - What about a level 40 Sargent cloak? (it's sod exclusive) - How much honor for r4, r5, r6 in p2? - Do we have level 40 warsong weapons like p1 (25 instead of 18) or will they 38 like era? - Is zulfarak available? - new receipt for talor/leather/BS? - do we upgrade the p1 epics to a new p2 version or do we get new slots? - is gnomeregan split into dungeon part and raid part? Why I am asking this? - > data mined pummler is level 35 instead of raid level 40! So many questions besides the big rune topic 😅
Hi Capps-WoW, you bring up a lot of really interesting questions, some I want to explore further and others I can guess on: - High level quest rewards - should be available, as long as you can do the quest at 40 - Should be full WSG and AB rewards. We don't know about a new cloak, but there are new rings..new bow..etc. PvP is EXTREMELY rewarding - Great honor question - would like this cleared up myself. Also do we get R6 as the cap? Feels like it but no guarantee - ZF should be available, though it will be overrated IMO. Most classes like Mage will really struggle to aoe farm it with low spell hit. Will still be farmed of course - Must be new epic crafts, presumably exactly the same as now but different slots. So if you use BS now..you would want to use it next phase - I would assume new epic slots entirely, which makes gear sets really weird. Maybe you are onto something where they will keep you upgrading the same pieces - Gnomeregan should be purely raid, the dungeon doesn't exist anymore similar to BFD. - Didn't realize the pummeler is 35, that is a great spot. Why do you think it's 35? Maybe a hardmode version for 40 or something will be added too
@@NOHITJEROME the new pummlers tool tip says level 35 This made space for speculation about split this raid/dungeon.. a raid part and a dungeon part (split like karazhan mythic+ in back in legion) Maybe it's just a mistake :) Ranking: Have a picture about ranking and levels, I think it's from era. Rank 1, 2,3 = req level 1 Rank 4 = req level 33 Rank 5 = req 38 Rank 6 = req 41 Rank 7 = req 44 Rank 8 = req 46 Rank 9 = req 48 Rank 10 = req 51 Rank 11 = req 53 Rank 12 = req 55 Rank 13 = req 58 Rank 14 = req 60 So.. Next phase will be a ranking phase 😅
They should have runes that go on your waist slot or something small that is simply a quality of life rune. increased speed when not in battle... infinite ammo ect...
I love that idea CSProduction, I believe that is exactly what they will do. Small quality of life runes to make the game more enjoyable. The idea of a small MS increase when not in combat for all classes is excellent. We will be losing the boon buff, but everyone loved the boon buff. Give us all a passive MS out of combat to make traveling faster. I can't think of any downsides to that, can you?
Other then classes that already have speed complaining about it, I don't think anyone would mind. The Ammo Idea on second thought would work because there would be storage problems if you remove the rune.@@NOHITJEROME
Sounds excellent generalpacman - deadzone is infuriating. Don't understand why everyone looks at it with rose tinted goggles. Why is the deadzone pleasant for anyone?
What Paladin needs? As of me, i dont need any new damaging ability runes, what i would like is new rune that gives 100% proc to SoC, Gear(Or maybe rune?) that adds SP damage like ones from BRD in early 50s(Like Mantle of Second War in situation of SoD), Improve our CS and DS runes and in rest make our utility situation better? And speed, give us some speed pls.
Hi Aaron, there are some good ideas here. I think the 100% SoC change would be good, but I'm particularly into your idea to add SP gear/higher SP damage. As a Shockadin lover in TBC, I had so many great nights playing that spec and breaking the game in ways only Shockadin can...ah those were hilarious and great times just one shotting players in WSG and even arenas. Do CS/DS runes really need more changes/improvements though? I agree on utility changes, you need longer buffs, the 5min duration is laugahbly bad. You also deserve speed, what do you think about say Freedom giving a small (30%) MS bonus for ~5 seconds whenever it is cast? Can go on both the caster and the receipient
@@NOHITJEROME Make speed bonus 8 sec. This with Blessing of freedom and Divine shield would help a lot. I like WPVP, but getting kited without being able to catch your enemy is frustrating.
And if I'm not mistaken it was said that CS would have 4 sec CD? 100%Damage to CS or making it 4 Sec instead of 6, improving DS damage to 125% instead of 110 or making more enemies affected instead of 4? Or even better, make CS and DS proc Seals) If I'm not wrong, I've seen Seal of Justice can proc from them. But not damage seals.
It would be a good change Aaron, additional speed bonus for a short time of 30 or 50%. Finally you don't have to slow walk towards your enemies for minutes on end :D What about aura mastery? Temporarily speed boost via mount would also be a big mobility help.
4 Second CD for crusader strike would be a good change, at least for PvE. Ret is just not competive right now. But maybe there are more creative ways to balance ret instead of just shorter CDs. I am surprised divine storm doesn't proc seals, it would be a very logical qol change. What would you do for mobility? Or are you mainly pve focused
definitely a big tanking issue. looks like you were right to mention it - they will be changing the rogue combo point issue in P2 with either a spellbook or a rune. hope you like it
I really don't want blizz to get rid of ammo when there are coveted quivers at max level that can increase the power of your character, that kind of just nerfs hunters at 6o. Who said I didn't want to rely on my pet?, if you 1v1 a druid a BM hunter loses every time because the sleep the pet there are huge sacrifices made to be a BM hunter but people on see the stupid eye of the beast memes. I suggest nerfing eye of the beast #1 because 90% of the time it is just troll game play and giving BM the ability to tame new pets through a rune and to give them more varying abilities such as dust devils having a cyclone on a 30 sec cooldown and lightening breathe or crabs get a mortal strike or sunder, I think this could bring up less used pets and create a less boring meta that a lot of hunters are complaining about "its not fun sure I can do good damage even after nerfs" p.s. love the vid N.H.J. I'm just a little hot over the subject lol
You're absolutely right Cody; removing ammo and nerfing coveted quivers would not only dampen the Hunter's arsenal but also diminish the rich tapestry of strategies and playstyles that make the class uniquely challenging and rewarding. It's about preserving that authentic Hunter essence, where every arrow counts and every quiver tells a story of battles won and beasts tamed. Your insight into the BM Hunter's struggles, especially in those nail-biting 1v1s against Druids, sheds light on the deeper complexities of class interactions and the sacrifices made for choosing a certain path. It's a high-stakes game of rock-paper-scissors, where every choice, every pet, and every ability can tip the scales of fate. Revamping the pet system should be something they actually do! Introducing new abilities could indeed spice up the meta, offering fresh strategies and making each pet a force to be reckoned with. It's about turning the underdogs (or undercrabs?) into something different and useful. WOTLK once explored the idea of pets having true unique abilities, but unfortunately the systems were not as deep as they could have been. Let's not forget the infamous 'Eye of the Beast' - your point about it being used mainly for trolling is well-taken. A nerf there could redirect the focus to more strategic, engaging gameplay, rewarding skill and innovation rather than mischief. Though they I won't be able to grief bots at the Neutral Auction house anymore.. P.S. I'm thrilled you enjoyed the video, Your passion and deep understanding of Hunters add a vital spark to this discussion. It's voices like yours that can guide the way to a more balanced, exciting, and enjoyable future for SoD wish Blizzard is reading this
I'd love divine steed but its still just a charge with no way to control a target on Paladins, maybe it could snare or daze an enemy for 3-5s. Please blizzard
That sounds amazing @therandrppodcast. I envisioned it as a 3 second 100% movement speed buff, not a charge. Wouldn't mind if if it added a root, you already have daze from avenger's shield, stun from HOJ. Are there any other abilities from retail you would want to see on Paladin as well?
Hi LewReviews, There are macros for powershifting, but then you have mana issues from all the shifting. Imagine sitting cat form popping rage pots, mana pots, whatever potion you want. Or sapper or grenade and you are still in cat/bear form. I'm sick and tired of getting destroyed by Rogues when I go to pick up the flag too. (though maybe I'm asking for it playing FC lol) Would you say it's such a non-issue that you wouldn't even want a belt or neck rune to remedy the situation? I'd take a small rune to fix a small annoyance, sure it's not game breaking but still.
Getting rid of spell ranks is bonkers, that would overpower classes like Boomkins making them even stronger in pvp, Starsurge shows how imbalanced spells feel when they auto scale. It makes no sense to want to break the game like that
You are not wrong to say that there would be overpowered classes and consequences as a result of getting rid of spell ranks. But why is it fair for Warriors to do 4000 DPS by Phase 4? Do you want to blink and the Warrior already killed Ragnaros in one second? As hilarious as that sounds, I'd rather that everyone be bringing something to the table and relatively similar damage. If you get rid of spell ranks, there would be need to be some small rebalancing. But putting our heads in the sand and leaving things as they are doesn't feel like the best solution either. Don't you want casters to be relevant in P2 and beyond? This shouldn't be Season of Warriors.
@@NOHITJEROME I agree it shouldn't be "Season of Warriors" but what you're proposing overpowers a few classes and leaving the rest behind, which doesn't fix the problem but just changes who deals more damage
The idea would be to at least have ONE phase where casters are dominant. Right now it seems we will never have a moment where casters are relevant in PvE. It doesn't feel good to always be 2nd fiddle..I can tell you from experience. (not from playing fiddles..but that's a story for another time) Don't casters deserve to contribute to raids at a high level like physical damage dealers do?
Agreed winnfieldcustoms, would love to see dual spec. Though I find myself annoyed constantly having to respec mid raid. Perhaps a limitation where you can only dual spec swap in major cities?
Consistent across every content creators videos like this, it just sounds like you want to play wotlk. That game already exists but everyone seemed to drop it for some reason while wanting most of the features of that game.
@zhowdeshell, you've raised a fascinating point! Yet, the charm of SoD lies in its unique blend of nostalgia and innovation. It's about harmonizing the best of the past with fresh, exciting elements that keep the whole game alive and that feeling of brand new even tho is not. I think my truest desire is WOTLK..but without HAVING to do every single little rotation thing just to kill the boss. WOTLK (especially HLK..which I spent many hundreds of hours of floor POV on) feels like you HAVE to play the game to the max just to kill the boss. Do you think there's a middle ground where the essence of WoTLK (minus HLK nightmares..) can coexist with the evolving narrative of SoD? I'd love to hear your thoughts on striking that perfect balance!
I guess feral druid combo points wasnt a good mention too? Feral also lacks AoE and would of been a good mention. Seems like they could make a ton of changes to make the game feel better. Im all for quality of life really hope to see summon stones and maybe make the raid entrence a "neutral zone". Bag space has always been an issue unfortunately so doubt we get that.
Looks like they will change feral combo points and rogue with runes or QOL books. Perhaps we can tell the future over here :D krozac. What do you think about the news?
Hi hizzousekakashi, interesting and unique take that the community is the biggest problem. Is it raid related? The parse culture? The ninja looting? I'm curious what your biggest issue with things are. Of course my biggest issue is losing my staff to some random pug and wanting to break my keyboard :D
Parse culture and the king of all "GOLD" the constant push for more GDKPs and everyone needing every single raid to be preproven meta for stuff that isn't that hard and is designed not to be that hard, classic was always where you could crack a few beers and down a raid no problem only a handful of raids actually felt like people having fun with the game and not just trying to inflate their ego with a parse.
The push for gold is definitely something I've noticed as well. I guess with less time available players are more time-conscious and more focused on minmaxing. The beer culture of enjoying the game and having fun is long gone. I would prefer the more relaxed atmosphere, but it feels like gone doesn't it?@@hizzousekakashi8836
Ye, I recently cancelled my second account and plan on spending far less time in the game, I'm still gonna check out the new phases but once that new phase magic is gone I'ma just tune out till the next one
I'm in the same boat where I cut back my subs to just one. For one thing..it's not very fun to have 2 accounts. The game feels very designed around having one account and when you have two it becomes a burden not a benefit. Though P2 will bring a lot of the hype back. We are in a down/chill period right now.@@hizzousekakashi8836
I dont want new spells, like at all for any of the classes. Just change how our spells work together withing our specs or something like that, utility such as totemic recall would be nice, but nothing major like divinestorm/chaosbolt or consumed by rage. Its a new game and I dont know how much I really like it after all.
Looks like they are adding totemic recall which is great, they are adding small QOL changes via spellbooks instead of runes. Are you in on those changes or do you think they are mistakes?
akhsdenlew I don't want to see retail either but more mobility is generally considered a good thing isn't it? You are right to be wary of a retail-minus but giving everyone one mobility option doesn't seem so bad.
@@NOHITJEROME it's pretty much the reason why i hate retail. Everyone has 3 big defensive cooldowns ( walls) doing pretty much the same thing, 1-2 minor defensive cooldowns and 3-4 offensive cooldowns for their goes. Not everyone needs to have mobility.. no. Not everyone needs to have stuns, stealth, instant heals either. Priest and paladin doesn't have mobility yea, but they have other stuff. U can't give them sprint just like that... I do agree that they need to make changes but not make it into retail either. Making the hybrid specs or shadowpriest viable is ofc the correct choice...But making it more convinient and make every class do exactly the same stuff is something i do not wish for. SOD is walking on a very thin line here.. a few mistakes and u basically have retail.. but on azeroth ( still better than retail ofc). Classes still needs to have inconviniences, and still needs to feel like "classic".
Everyone has 3 walls, 2 cd, 3-4 offensive CD in retail. I suppose the question is whether that makes the game itself unenjoyable. Or is it the systems around Retail that make it unenjoyable? If you put retail balancing in Classic..would it be fun? If you put Classic balancing in Retail..would it be fun? I do like the idea of classes being separate and feeling different. Specs like shadowpriest are very cool and feel good to play, as well as "meme specs" like shockadin which undoubtedly would not exist in retail. The inconveniences do make the game feel like Classic. But do we NEED them to still get the maximum enjoyment out of Classic? Or are they baggage.
I don’t think using up a rune slot for QOL features is a good idea. Why not make spell books that teach your class the mage table/paladin buff (sort of like the spelll book that gives rogue eviscerate rank 9/10 in UBRS in the later phases) blizzard could make an epic quest chain that players can do in order to achieve the spell book ! I think a lengthy/lore heavy quest chain would be a much better idea to achieve the QOL features! Cool, unique quest chains is what makes SoD incredible!! I hope blizz keeps making them for future features
Hi Parzival, I like the spell books idea teaching you mage table, 30min buffs..more questlines sound great as well. I allowed myself to get rune crazy, the focus on runes being the only path I could see going forward. I have caught rune madness. Would you want to see new questlines for QOL features in gnomeregan/p2? Is it time to get mage table in p2 or too early?
I’m torn, I don’t play a mage but I do have a ret paladin. The logical side of me says wait until we have 25-40 player raids to bring the mage table/paladin QOL features since the current raids only calls for a few people needing water in most raids. But I will admit rebuffing an entire group of 10 people every 5 minutes is awful 😂
You play the class that has the most frustrating with the current buff systems. You alone deserve the decision and if you are willing to wait maybe it could end up being a P3 or P4 thing. Though I don't remember Paladin buffs being 5min at level 60 in 40 man raids. You don't seriously rebuff every 5 minutes in endgame raids do you?
ok next time you get full credit, I think you said it first but I got it from sarthe the second time. will give you forgive me? I can give you 2 water at a time for many hours as payment.
Do not do not make QOL runes…. All you do by doing this is making a class the sacrificial lamb bc some people want longer buffs or more water….The outcome - you gimp the upside on dps and utility runes for a class… I would rather have new skill runes than a rune for longer buffs..
I had not considered such a take Hel2sey, QoL runes adding a burden to specific classes. After all nobody wants the TBC Warlock arena experience where you have to make 19 different consumables and buffs before the game even starts..my hands have never recovered from that lol. But we have to have a break, don't we Hel2sey? We can't just keep adding new game-breaking runes every single phase. By Phase 4 we'd have 20+ new abilities to press. There's NO way I can keep up with that many abilities. Unfortunately some of the runes are going to have to be duds, fillers just to keep us going towards the next "good" runes. New skill runes are great, but do you really want 20 of them? 30? Can we play the game with so many options?
The problem is that we will end up with 10 button rotations unless most of the new runes are passive like you said. That's why I feel like p2 MUST be a breather phase, a phase of smaller/less relevant and simple runes. What do you think will happen? Will P2 just double our rotations and take things to a point of no return?@@moto684
@@NOHITJEROME I truly hope P2 is more about passive runes, QoL runes, or possibly ones that augment skills we already have. Regardless just want rotations to feel more fluid
I also hope for this moto. We need a small changes to make rotations smoother, we need small improvements to qol. Especially free brez since I never remember seeds :D We don't need 20 new abilities this phase especially since we get so many new skills. Do you have any ideas to make rotations smoother? Ie making things more like tbc
Hi stealthyturtles, it's a correct observation to say that these QOL changes were all done by Wrath and Cata. And a lot of players find the idea of going up to the top of ICC and repeatedly running into HLK to be a fate worse than death. (perhaps I am in that camp..lol) But could you agree that one of the biggest complaints about Wrath and beyond is that you are FORCED to use these QOL changes to push through the raid? QOL in a simpler time like classic..in a mode where the raids are easy and relaxing..that makes for a good overall experience. Or maybe you disagree - maybe you prefer the short buff durations, the required reagents for brez, etc. Are they just part of the package that you enjoy even if they are rough around the edges?
@@NOHITJEROME i personally do enjoy them, shamans still have totems, rogues have half a bag of poisions and vanish/blind powders, it forces the player (at times) to make decisions on what items they want to keep or destroy or just drop all together. almost every class has some kind of inventory management thing and its a flavor of classic. yes, with addons you can clearly see 30s vs a 1s 12c item and the decision is easy in regards to bag space. there is also the buff duration, ya it would be nice to have a 30m buff, but most raids have 2+ paladins and you can buff as you run throw trash mobs up to bosses. classic shamans used to totem twist every 10s for WF totem/grace and now we dont have to do that if we have a druid present. i dont want the game to just become a retail version of classic, i enjoy all the nuances. classic with a twist is what i wanted as a classic+ supporter, and thats what i got.
I understand your point on inventory management being a key part of Classic. It is something I am dealing with on Shaman right now (a very annoying problem mind you) but it does at least make the class feel..different than say playing my Priest. Totem twisting being lost (and that being a bad thing) is a very good point. Only a select few shamans I ever met in 2019 ever totem twisted. Now that will be completely dead with Druids. Do you have more ideas for the rest of the runes if not QOL though? What do we do to fill out 18+ runes in a way where we don't have 18 button rotations of our nightmares?
@@NOHITJEROME speaking for shaman specifically (i love the class design and concept of it more than any other class) i would love to see a frost shaman build. something that makes frostbrand weapon a viable option. my idea would be something along the lines of Way of Earth, but simply called Way of Frost. This would take Frost Shock off shock c/d, similiar to how WoE takes earthshock off. Fire/Earth share a CD, frost shock becomes melee range, frostbrand weapon gets a buff where it procs fairly often for big burst, but removes the slow effect, increase frost shock dmg by 20% to slow targets (this would make earthbind be prio over strength totem in pve and pvp). or you could do increase frost brand proc dmg to slowed targets also. secondly, give a rune that turns Fire Nova Totem into Frost Nova Totem, making it basically be a mages frost nova, where it roots when it pops. I would like to see a viable option for 2H shamans to use that is not the obvious WF weapon mainly, frostbrand is a dead skill and would be cool to see it revitalized into something useable and synergizing into the kit with frost shock/ice nova totems. For QoL on shamans, give us Totemic Recall, its really annoying when a totem pulls a mob while leveling and to keep up with them, im fine with placing the totems individually, but having the option to destroy them (even if you dont get the mana return) would be nice. Shamans dont really have a hard cc so obviously hex would be nice for pvp, a micro stun off sunder would be nice also, but i want to see new skills that have never existed before in WoW. For instance, resource generation runes for maybe something like Priest. Where you take a huge loss on healing, but instead you generate more rage/energy/mana for allies at the cost of your own mana. (i think this wouldve worked well for mages instead of giving them healing) that way your entire party can sustain mana longer, and pump harder by having more free resource at the expense of the support class mana. Again, i want classic with a twist, not classic with retail skills like spirit link totem, divine steed, avatar, shadow dance, etc for each class to just be classic-ified.
i refuse to use mage water currently as its too slow and for poor people. My mage always gets so offended in our raids when he spends 30 minutes making water for nobody to want it lmao
That's hilarious MaidensRag, I am in the same boat bringing sweet nectar and offending mage after mage..But next phase the true BIS water comes from crafting. I cannot wait for those mages to have to make us water 2 at a time. Will you go back and sweet talk the vending machines? I suppose we will have to apologize to them lol
@@NOHITJEROME damn youre right were gonna have to apologize :/ i mean im neverrr rude to him about it im always just like im sorry its too slow and were trying to go faster etc.
What warlock desperately needs is a way to dump threat as dps, the class was notorious for having higher threat per ability than most other classes and although we can now tank, dps lock still retains that issue in sod. Give locks something like soul shatter so we aren't always hovering over our LiP bind or asking for BoPs. Furthermore I agree with most of your suggestions, except for priest. Giving mobility on shields will go beyond the priest themself and apply to whoever the priest is shielding which effectively gives anyone with a shield a mini sprint, which isn't warranted imo. Giving priests a way to solve mana issues, especially for shadow might play a much bigger role in solving their immediate issues though.
That is a good idea @wholawl, a threat drop. Soul shatter is a fun ability and would seem perfectly valid as a new addition. Every class should have a threat drop of some sort, they could be minor runes. You caught me asking for too much on priest, I certainly don't NEED movement speed, it is just noticeable that classes like warrior keep becoming more mobile as some like paladin and priest remain the same. Simply making us drink less would be enough for mobility, as it stands now we lag behind the pack quite a bit in most situations. Do you think abilities like Soul shatter should be added in P2? Maybe it is too game breaking to be able to drop threat at will - maybe those runes should be saved for the endgame.
@@NOHITJEROME I wouldn't mind it coming in later phases , as long as we eventually do get it at some point.^^ As for mobility, I'm a bit on the fence about this. Had quite the long conversation with a couple of my friends ( who are all top tier pvpers/raiders from multiple eras) and there's a strange consensus when it comes to pacing and space that a lot of players don't consider, the faster we move in general the faster the pacing becomes which further skews balance and raid encounters into a different design philosophy (which mimics retail's design somewhat), we're all afraid that if classes gain more mobility it will inevitably lead down the same path retail has gone through. ( would elaborate more on this privately if need be ).
Hi stellan, this is a very interesting take I had not seen yet. Paladin threat is a big issue in raids right now? Are your poor DPS hitting floor pov in every big pull? :D
@@NOHITJEROME The problem is that if you go 1h and shield. a warrior or Ret pala can easily make a devstorm and take all the aggo. and the aoe tanking in holy is not woth it. loos all the mana in holy to fast
Hi Joe, Paladins do need more holy damage. I'd say it'd be fair if they lose some duration on HOJ..feel like I'm HOJed for 20 minutes a battleground these days. Got hit by a Paladin yesterday, went to make a sandwich, came back, still HOJed. I'd trade lower stuns for more damage. Do you think the Ret rotation needs work too? Isn't it still basically autoattacks and runes at this point?
You mentioned it a bit with meleee hunter and decreasing pet liabilty. But more is needed for melee hunter. BM spec and mm spec is just miles ahead in damage output than survival tree. Especislly in next phase where most of the bis gear is gonna come eith pure attsck power (lightning reflexes only scales with agi). With that bring said moongoose bite and the ability from survival tree that requires a parry proc are simply useless in pvp against casters and literally useless in PVE.. besides that they are VERY weak. Its a shame that melee hunter now is just bm spec with flanking strike. And its gonna be the same in phase 2 if not something drastically changes
that's actually a cool idea for new runes. gain x,y or z ability if a certain skill tree has less than 20 points or something like that, x y and z changing depending on which skill tree you don't spec into
I like that ingineru. There's a lack of creativity and options right now. For example on Priest I really only have 1 viable spec with a few small tweaks here and there. Would love to be discouraged from going the exact same spec as everyone else next phase for healing. If I could get a rune as a reward it would be enough to reconsider things entirely. (especially a mobility rune) Why do you want the half/half reward for specs? Purely for variety?
I love the idea tharpoon. Rewarding you for running more variety instead of just the talent tree laid out for you. But they keep hyping up "capstone" talents and I think the devs love you being kind of forced down a tree for balance purposes. If they start rewarding players for playing weird and untested hybrids..might start to really break the game in some ways. Do you think they'd ever really try out that path? I don't think they will unfortunately.
@@tharpoon interesting tought,to get ability based ln x amount of talents not spent in a tree,my idea was basicaly to get runes that Promote fire/frost speci such as frostfirebolt
Some of the duration buffs make sense. Paladin buffs for example. But, I do not see the point of changing the duration of short term buffs that require just 1 click; Ie. Battle shout and weapon imbues for shamans. That is legit just players being lazy. It should not necessarily be an issue that is fixed with a weak aura… but…it is 🤷🏻♂️. I have 0 issues with full imbue or shout uptime. Certain quality of life improvements should probably not be tied to runes because of how mandatory they will feel. Rogues having their combo points linked to themselves and not individual mobs? That will almost always be a mandatory glyph and will eliminate any choice in that rune slot. Quality of life things like a mage table or a lock summoning stone are also just unnecessary as runes. Nothing stops the players (when they are out of combat ofc) from swapping one pair of belt, pants, gloves, w/e to another piece of that same type with a different rune, using the new ability and then swapping right back. These changes should just be made at the base kit level or just not done at all I feel. Mobility skills can make sense as a rune but then you would also have to reorganize things like warrior’ Warbringer to another slot most likely. At that point, it starts to feel very much like an MoP talent tree. Create a mobility slot, interrupt slot, long cooldown ability, short cooldown ability, etc. It will really start to feel like a Version of Retail Minus not Classic Plus.
Hi JAlvarez, you make some intelligent points about much QOL being simply lazy player fixes. It is something that happens in all MMOs, eventually all complaints and annoyances are patched up as it is easy for developers to make these changes. Silencing longtime complaints for shortterm goodwill. Bshout is a consistent complaint, weapon imbues are a consistent complaint. I could easily see them changed via runes next phase. As for QOL not being tied to runes, I tend to agree. However they have done such runes already - there is a rune for Priest that lets warriors gain rage when shielded. I would prefer to see new questlines added for spells or perhaps just spellbooks that ALL mages can use for example. But it's SOD and they seem all in on rune..so who knows. Your MOP point is fascinating, I do wonder if they plan to do exactly what you are laying out. It is likely we are heading towards retail minus. What do you think would be a better solution for the remaining rune slots? If we just get more runes across the board that will be overwhelming with 20+ button rotations.
@@NOHITJEROME you are right. A lot QoL changes are a response to certain player laziness. But, for example, in the case of weapon imbues, why not make it similar Stormkeeper from legion and just add a bit of flare to the class. I like the idea of making it more fun to press not just making it something your mindlessly press or removing it because it is seen as a chore by most. Just spitballing here but, something similar to other xpacs, Imbue your weapon with X for 5mins. For the first 15secs, your imbue gains X increased effect or something along those lines. That could be tied to rune. Just a little something extra where players would feel good about pressing it. Personally, I’d go so far as to say that I’d like to see whole animations and even a cast on an imbue so it feels like you are actually drawing in the power of those elements. But now I’m just coping. Great point about the priest bubbles and warrior rage rune. That was a biggie. I do like your idea of a quest line to add spells or effects. The real “problem” with the game right now, it just feels like people want more and more. That’s pretty great to see. I don’t think it’s a bad idea that certain rune slots are for certain roles or situations. I don’t think they need to go crazy on extra abilities but why not make one slot primarily passive battle effects, buffs, or utility. Then take another and make it QoL stuff that is not actually class defining or breaking, like the rogue combo point issue. That is the prime example of just QoL that was 100% necessary to change. It was not fun, engaging or at all rewarding.
I wouldn't mind adding flair to classes and adding more creativity to the runes. The imbue idea for example would be much more interesting than the current imbues. Everyone always wants more and more, but long questlines to get small qol improvements seem fair. One of the biggest complaints in P1 was that there wasn't enough to do on your "main." If you like alting, it's a great phase, but having more small things to do that are nearly meaningless but still improve qol could help a lot. I believe there will be passive rune slots just like you laid out, there will be small QOL rune slots. Otherwise they end up with 20 different buttons you have to press and nobody wants that. If the entire phase is just QOL runes though it might end up being less hype. Would you be disappointed with a "filler" patch with less interesting runes before P3?
Love your videos but I disagree with a lot here. While I think quality of life changes like longer buff durations / lower buff cost / and mage table / lock stones are probably a good idea I don’t think giving paladins or priests movement speed increase and rogues the ability to aoe is a good idea. The main complaint about retail is how every class feels the same. Think many of the suggested changes would lead to exactly that. I don't believe the argument "final fantasy does it" has any merit because we're playing Classic WoW, not Final Fantasy
Hi Ben, you are right that there's a big difference between longer buff durations and paladins getting more movement speed. I don't want to watch a paladin sprint at me at +100 MS any more than you do lol. I suppose the point I wanted to make was that some classes have huge weaknesses while others are getting buffed again and again. Warrior has warbringer, they have single minded fury. Meanwhile what do rets get for movement? Or priest? Some classes are definitely getting more than others aren't they?
Just find it funny how ppl want that classic feel to wow yet complaining about things how it was originally supposed to be like.. the more and more they changing these things might as well just go back to retail… 😒 bet at 60 again ppl will complain how far sod came and how much “now “ it actually feel like retail “ “bring back classic back..legit ppl no sense now days
you are completely right. man i just get swept up in the culture sometimes though. it happens. hope you have a good p2 launch all the same..good luck and pray for no bad queues
you're spot on! Shamans and their elusive totem-pulling tactics or should I say, the lack thereof are indeed one of Azeroth's greatest mysteries. It seems we might need to open a special branch at the Academy of Advanced Adventuring just for this. But let's not stop at Shaman education! What about those Mages struggling with their water production, or the Druids who dream of a world where Boomkins finally have beds that can fit 9 foot tall owl people? If you were to enroll in this academy, which class seminar would you be first in line for?
I fear they won't change the main 19+ year old issue for Shadow Priests in Vanilla/Classic content: Mana regen. No I don't count the oil cause you can only use it in a specific situation. Give them VT, fiend pet or something, anything. If not we only get some mana back from Shamans totem and their S-Rage. Even this content creator didn't even say a single word about the SP's mana issue. It's a very known and talked about problem. So no thumbs up or sub here. Try again ^^
It's a big problem that you are very right to point out. OOM priests might as well be left at the side of the road lol they don't offer anything to the group at that point. hadow fiend might be the solution - that rune feels all but inevitable. Would you say SF would solve enough priest mana issues? It hardly solves problems on trash but would be nice on bosses.
Hi Chris, FOK at 60 does make a lot more sense than having it at 40. Do you really believe in the homogenization of classes though? I somewhat do believe in it, just because Wrath has a lot of systems around it besides just the balancing. Ie take wrath balancing and put it in classic, still would feel like classic. But not the other way around
I greatly disagree with combat ability specific quality of life changes. The non combat stuff like pallies getting longer buffs is fine. But the stuff like druids getting a non combat res….that’s a very slippery slope towards homogenizing every class. The same goes for hunter tank. Don’t get me wrong….I’m a meme dreamer. I actually played a dungeon hunter tank in tbc/wrath for fun, keep threat on one target and lockdown the rest. I also played melee spellpower hunter. Even had a couple little clips of me doing it on my channel. With that said though, that’s just meme’ing. If hunters are given a tank spec too…shit just gets super homogenized, with every class being a hybrid. Just make melee dps hunter good, and keep them the last pure dps class
Hi Burlehmangus, you are right that we are heading towards a slippery slope of homogenizing every class. I suppose my concern is that the original vision (especially with 10mans) of the game is being lost entirely. class that can't do EVERYTHING is just no longer being brought to the raid. Why bring anything except warrior..priest..I am in the same boat as a meme dreamer, I played shockadin in TBC and I very much enjoyed it. I see your point a bout hunter tank - not everyone should be able to do everything. But the problem is some classes ALREADY can do everything. So they either have to be scaled back or the weaker classes have to be buffed. Which should it be?
How many pugg have you done. I have seen rogue tank,Druid tank, warlock tank. Every dps class get a spot in a raid and even seen mage healers, pally healers,Druid healers.
I love that matty, so as you autoattack you reduce the cast time of a spell ie chain lightning. It feels like a classic-esque spell and would be extremely fun in pvp. Do you think it would be too overpowered though with instant chain lightning/overload proc?
@@NOHITJEROME It might be too strong, ya. But enhance is one of the worst dps in the game. Might bring them up to top 5. I dont think Shams should be top dps, but mid or high mid would be great
Hi James, you are right that qol runes are a waste, but otherwise we end up with 15+ usable abilities. Isn't that way too many? We would need new keyboards at that rate lol. Better if only 6-8 of the runes are truly special and usable in your rotation while the rest are kept as simple passive or less relevant runes
Hex..you make good suggestions. (As long as shaman are Horde only hex works great for me lol) I'll also take undispellable ghost wolf so you have nothing to complain about when FCing. (except me when I run off on offense while you have 11 people chasing you..) Do you want to see totemic recall? Any other QOL changes for shaman? Or just hex/ghost wolf
hex makes me think of wrath arenas. very awful and unfun ability. i am only supporting it because i am horde and we get to hex the alliance. very much like that
I'm tired of getting my warrior butt kicked over and over in pvp against my fellow hordies 😢. I guess I just need to git gud. With my druid or rogue I still have way more chances against competent players. Please give us spell reflection and heroic leap.
It's ok druidism, give it 2 weeks. You will be dominating like nobody else. Mortal Strike is the king of PvP. Don't let yourself get demoralized when you are at your weakest in PvP. Will you stick with it through Feb 8 at the very least and see how it feels?
@@NOHITJEROME yea man, I probably gotta stick with my warrior this time since it's way harder to gear up with leather-wearing classes. As of right now in SoD it's the class that I have invested much more than others. I'm not really good in terms of DPS parsing hence I play tank classes, I just wanna at least enjoy pvp a lil bit. Warrior is just bad against any decent player who know how to abuse 7yds range
Sticking with your Warrior will pay off. You don't need to be good at parsing next phase. All you need is basic PvP understanding and Mortal Strike will do the rest. Everyone abuses the range yes but there is math in your favor next phase. All you need is a nice pocket healer to keep you slashing your sword. :D
Fascinating Benjamin, I assumed everyone was running the same DW spec right now. What are the differences between the builds? Very curious to learn more.
Hi Kasey, it's true that a lot of these suggestions come from retail. I suppose my theory would be that the skills themselves are not the problem with retail, it's the systems around those skills. But maybe that's a naive take, after all the furthest I've gotten is the lich king..far from the current retail in Dragonflight. What do you think - is balance a major retail issue as well as the systems themselves?
NO QOL RUNES!!!!!!!let me just say I am 100% against qol runes. What qol do warriors or priests need? Sure, mage table and totemic recall, soulwell, etc would be nice, but if some classes are getting qol runes while warriors are getting glad stance or self healing like you suggested, that gives warriors a huge advantage. If youre going to add qol then it really needs to be in the form of a drop from the new raid that teaches you the spell, which I'm all for. Also while some of these "problems" as you call them are pretty inconvenient, imo its what makes classic classic. As a sham main, it only took 1 or 2 raid wipes in MC for me to start routinely recasting totems as I moved along. Mages and locks can be filling their bags with water and soul shards in their free-time. I know some people would be butt-hurt, but I really wouldn't mind if there was no qol. Just give some some totally new abilities to play around with haha
Hi Twinyuccas, I see your points about not having new QOL runes..but then we have 18+ runes that all affect our rotation and I'll need 3 keyboards to play the game lol. Yes all these problems make Classic..Classic. But we need filler runes, Blizzard made their bed with having a slot for every piece of gear. They can't really make all the runes relevant to your rotation can they? If you have 18 new abilities it will be a disaster imo
Yeah I see where you're coming from. Personally I don't think 11 new abilities from runes(every pieces of gear except weps and trinkets) will clutter up rotations too much. I think between passives, long CDs, and new runes basically replacing old rotations like with destro lock, we could have 11 new abilities and rotations will still feel smooth and classic-like. And I'd just feel so cheated if I get totemic recall which gives me absolutely no advantage in a fight, and other classes are getting cool new stuff
Hi knifegirl, you are right it would turn into something closer to retail. But aren't we getting run down by 30% MS warriors with infinite in-combat charges? Some classes are getting a lot more out of SoD than others aren't they?
That's a true point ffarkasm, but an argument could be made that the classes are enjoyable in wrath. The problem is that the content itself feels like it forces you to play a specific way. After 200+ attempts enjoying the floor on HLK..feels like you have to play a specific way or not play at all. How would you balance things closer to vanilla ffarkasm? What would be your biggest class related change that avoids the wrath problem?
That's the best quality of life suggestion so far. why do we need paladins anyways? We get rid of them, a lot of problems are solved. Any other fixes to add while you are at it?
As Shaman, I would like one button to drop 4 totems and perhaps recall. I am okay not having this but there are plenty of pulls I don't drop totems to save time and mana.
Hi EkimKtulu, it is a good idea. One button totems + recall will be ideal for P2. Especially since the raid is supposedly fast/easy and everyone will want to rush through it. I wonder if you think shaman will be less desirable without totemic recall if they don't add it? Leveling mine atm
That's a unique take I had not seen nilocm, FOK not being fun to use. Watching Rogues use it makes it look fun..I am filled with envy and rage watching it. :D Perhaps looks are deceiving. What would be a more fun ability for rogues to use to solve their AoE issue? Can you think of anything from past expansions?
I may be alone on this but I disagree with your whole hunter take. I've never had an issue with bag space or had a "need" to fill my other bags with ammo. I could really care less about the Melee hunter class fantasy. If I wanted that there are better classes for it like Paladin or Warrior. BM hunter on the other hand needs to stop being nerfed because PVP babies wanna cry about getting soloed by a pet when the have shit gear and cant play their class well enough to counter it. The main class fantasies for hunter have always been bow and pet and id rather them not nerf that into the ground while making another boring tank class. You really want switch it up why not make a rune that turns all shots into heals and make them a DPS healing class where the pet can dps while you heal the group/raid. And for the love of god nerf warriors and rogues already.
Hi Soulchillin, thanks for your point, it is a valid one. I don't see Blizzard changing the bag situation. But they will be buffing melee hunter even more, have you seen the new Raptor Strike rune? They will be getting further away from the class fantasy you are talking about with the bow/pet to make a melee warrior type class.
It's probably asking for too much thomas. But we have to ask to get things, that's what i learned from santa. What do you think would be more realistic to ask for and receive balance wise in P2?
I am sorry ,but they are clueless. They dont want to touch anything, but the new runes. In their mind .. this is still classic with the only difference the runes and so they only do tweaks and nerfs/boost for runes and no traditional talents have been adjusted so far. This is dumb and wrong because they add tons of gear that never existed for those levels and they also put artificial stops " end game" for months at strange levels and they still think they dont need to touch anything else , but runes ..... its beyond stupidity and i agree 300 % with JEROME that all spells and abilities should scale per level the same as runes. U cant just put runes and ton of new gear and hold ppl low levels for 3 months ,but treat the game as if its just classic with runes. U make ppl to play for months at low artificial level caps with totally new gear and runes while half the classes are idiotically inferior due spell ranks. Nobody would cry and whine about spell power , spell ranks and spell hit if they was not held hostage at low levels , when u plan to do so you should know better and change traditional talents accordingly to your new phase style approach.
What an awful video full of so many non issues. I'm guessing it's ragebait designed to irritate people into replying like I am right now. Almost all of these aren't even QoL, it's just you groveling for unnecessary buffs. Why does Priest need to move faster? Why do Rogues NEED to have AOE for DPS? They're top tier single target, why do they need to be good at AOE too? I main Priest and Rogue btw. First time I've disliked a video on YT ever.
Hi d0tsy, these are complaints others are coming up with and I'm relaying them. (other than the priest MS which you astutely pointed out..that's just selfishness on my part lol) Why do all these classes need AoE..MS..to be good at everything? Well because Warrior already is good at everything. Why should there be a class that's faster (Single Minded Fury), higher dps..either they have to be toned down or everyone else must be brought up to their level. That is the only way, isn't it d0tsy?
@@NOHITJEROME Why can't it just be a roleplaying game where some classes are better than others at certain things? Should every healer have a shield type ability like PWS too? No. Thankfully the SoD devs seem to actually care and have even explicitly said stuff like "we aren't letting nerfs/buffs be popularity contests that will be heavily influenced by streamers" (paraphrasing) so stuff like this is most likely never happening, I will say it's deeply gross how people invade something longstanding and then want it changed to fit their lack of ability. Pretty much every issue in this video can be fixed or somewhat mitigated with user input.
Hi blasfemy, it's a flawed game to be sure, but is it really bad? What problems do you see with it that can't be fixed? My biggest problem is the dang ret paladins killing me while I quest and sending me back to hillsbrad.
Which class do you think had the biggest problems in SoD phase 1?
shaman - resto and ele
u cant fix the ranged class with more melee.... it needs more damage ranged to keep up. and bm should not be a dps spec. its guarranteed to get nurfhammered into the mud. MM with some fun rotation is the way to go
Yeah I think shaman overall had the biggest problems. Shadow priest was probably the worst spec overall.
Bruh warriors lol. I main a priest and l always felt bad when I killed a warrior. They stood zero chance 😂 like I could stand still and kill them with button mashing 😢 every other class I felt like I had to try.
@@fr3ddycraft lemme guess, ure a raidboss? oh, not? im talking abt pve-
Very good takes!
The idea would be to make the class more accessible/friendly to play since a lot of pug warriors are a bit clueless (not their fault - I remember my first time playing warrior in 2019..floor pov lol)
I am glad you like the idea of pally buffs being extended, the 5 minute duration just doesn't make sense considering how long the raids are.
Your video production is s tier now! Good job!!
Lot of good takes in here man. Always a good day when I see a post from you!
Thank you so much man, it’s always great to see you here! I really appreciate the support and your good vibes. Your work has always been an inspiration. Maybe someday we’ll team up beyond the comment section, who knows? 😄
Keep the epic content coming.
The buff thing I agree with Jerome, it's a pain to get the groups or raids buffed up and it's unnecessary in every way - just takes time away from actually doing the dungeon or raid.
what editing softwere u use
Hi Dualities, I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro 2022. Have you ever tried it?
It elegantly addresses the need for casters to steadily increase their potency in a way that feels rewarding and progressive, rather than being overly reliant on sporadic gear drops altho wow as never been
Integrating a .5 spellpower per point of intellect could indeed offer a smoother power curve, giving every piece of gear, even those seemingly inconsequential green items, a tangible impact on a caster's journey.
@@NOHITJEROME I just think if shamans can have dual wield without a rune slot, druids can get a ress without a rune slot
It's a fair take vidya. I would love to see druid get a rez without a rune. But we will undoubtedly have to fill many rune slots and a rez seems as good a slot as any. Unless you can think of more qol slots to fill for druid instead
@@NOHITJEROME called it, knew they wouldn’t waste slots for increase of buffs etc :D
Rogues with FoK, " everyone know it needs to happend ". No fuck that, why? Every class should not have everything like in retail...
The idea of a tank without any AOE ability is super scuffed.
I would prefer to see an AOE finisher rather than FoK.
FoK as a finisher
It's very scuffed Tomas but I hate to say it..rogue tank is probably a mistake. What can they really do to fix the spec? It's either unbelievably broken or useless
Can they add a TF rune for Doomz?))
yes doomz gets the special TF rune, grants the rune wielder thunderfury for free without having to farm the bindings. (only applicable if you already had thunderfury in a previous version of the game of course :D )
@@NOHITJEROME I like that !
it's what you deserve my friend
Great video! One thing i really hope they do for Shamans in phase 2 is make it so ghost wolf doesn't cancel water walking. I just want to run across the sea.
Hi Big Cuz, it's a great suggestion. Another is to make ghost wolf no longer purgable. It's the funniest/silliest thing to be flag carrying on Shaman and get ghost wolf purged lol. Now we just need a water map to combine your suggestion and my suggestion. It shall be the most hated warsong map of all time :D

For warrior with zerker stance coming, a rune for either making overpower usable in all stances or slam proc
Also blood and thunder from cata rune that also increases the number of mobs and thunder clap hits
And yes rogues need FoKs without the annoying sound effect.
(since we all agreed in the community to that..)
Glad you agree on FOK, though I'm curious what you mean by arcane missile proc - What proc would be generated by AM?
Missile barrage proc I think what it was called from wotlk
I love the FoK sound 😅
it sounds great, i am ready to hear it again
so it basically gives you a chance to have faster channeling arcane missiles while channeling arcane missiles? heard you like arcane missiles, so i put more arcane missiles on it.
@@NOHITJEROME wow Nice one i never think about it. I have a druid alt too so what u think is the better way to farm gold with him?

I only can speak in Dragon's Dogma 2. Can you explain Gladiator Stance in a metaphor involving DD2 combat

i reckon the QoL thing's would be cool to have as drops or epic quest rewards or something.
Having QOL runes to look forward to throughout the raid would add a lot besides "oh great another mail piece dropped."
Would you want to see actual BIS-level runes dropping from raids as well?
@@NOHITJEROME I think there should be a cost to upping the buff timers, a minor rune would be a good compromise.
That's fair to me, runes can be used to smooth our annoyances while also balancing classes. I'm sure most priests would be very happy to have free or reduced-cost Fortitude at the cost of a belt rune. Same for warrior..same for paladin. Though maybe some players would keep the rune off to experience classic the way the authentic way lol @@peateargriffen36
they are more focused on ending gdkps. be ready to not get bis again as a clothy
It's true neil as a clothie (specifically healer) I was able to get geared up in ridiculously efficient fashion. USUALLY in groups the healers get geared last. Something nobody ever mentions in the gdkp discussions.
I really want to see in P2 how offensive purge/dispel magic dissappears from spellbooks :D
Hi Jota, great idea. Let's get rid of purges and stuns while we are at it. Any spell that is considered unpleasant to fight against should be removed. In the end we will be wanding each other at full HP with no obstructions. :D
But seriously I don't mind the idea of re-evaluating "unfun" mechanics.
Imagine u hide in dmf and purge everyguy with full wbuffs

Undispellable seals seem fair to me. I have learned a very valuable tip here on my priest. I was never dispelling rets and was unaware of how frustrating the seal dispelling is. Ahhh, thank you. Do you have more things you hate dealing with on ret that I can note down? :D
I would like a "prismatic" rune slot. Put one unused rune from any slot here.
The hook for Melee Hunter is that it the exact opposite gameplay as is typical.
Awesome video and a create content creator! Thank you for your passion
@@NOHITJEROME I am very curious about
- high level quest rewards in p2.. Are red level 40 quest available in eg feralas?
- What about a level 40 Sargent cloak? (it's sod exclusive)
- How much honor for r4, r5, r6 in p2?
- Do we have level 40 warsong weapons like p1 (25 instead of 18) or will they 38 like era?
- Is zulfarak available?
- new receipt for talor/leather/BS?
- do we upgrade the p1 epics to a new p2 version or do we get new slots?
- is gnomeregan split into dungeon part and raid part?
Why I am asking this? - > data mined pummler is level 35 instead of raid level 40!
So many questions besides the big rune topic 😅
Hi Capps-WoW, you bring up a lot of really interesting questions, some I want to explore further and others I can guess on:
- High level quest rewards - should be available, as long as you can do the quest at 40
- Should be full WSG and AB rewards. We don't know about a new cloak, but there are new rings..new bow..etc. PvP is EXTREMELY rewarding
- Great honor question - would like this cleared up myself. Also do we get R6 as the cap? Feels like it but no guarantee
- ZF should be available, though it will be overrated IMO. Most classes like Mage will really struggle to aoe farm it with low spell hit. Will still be farmed of course
- Must be new epic crafts, presumably exactly the same as now but different slots. So if you use BS now..you would want to use it next phase
- I would assume new epic slots entirely, which makes gear sets really weird. Maybe you are onto something where they will keep you upgrading the same pieces
- Gnomeregan should be purely raid, the dungeon doesn't exist anymore similar to BFD.
- Didn't realize the pummeler is 35, that is a great spot. Why do you think it's 35? Maybe a hardmode version for 40 or something will be added too
@@NOHITJEROME the new pummlers tool tip says level 35
This made space for speculation about split this raid/dungeon.. a raid part and a dungeon part (split like karazhan mythic+ in back in legion)
Maybe it's just a mistake :)

My wet dream is TBC hunter range 3yards and no dead zone melee weaving would be so good
Sounds excellent generalpacman - deadzone is infuriating.
Or are you mainly pve focused
qol runes would be nice also pallys do have pursuit of justice and free mount but your right in pvp
also to add on to the combo point problem for rogues it is AWFUL for tanking if we have to swap tagets to taunt
Looks like they added some nice QOL runes via spellbooks. Do you think that was a good idea? I think they look like smart changes.
definitely a big tanking issue. looks like you were right to mention it - they will be changing the rogue combo point issue in P2 with either a spellbook or a rune. hope you like it
I really don't want blizz to get rid of ammo when there are coveted quivers at max level that can increase the power of your character, that kind of just nerfs hunters at 6o.
There is a macro u can power shift and take a potion its not a issue
Hi LewReviews,
There are macros for powershifting, but then you have mana issues from all the shifting. Imagine sitting cat form popping rage pots, mana pots, whatever potion you want. Or sapper or grenade and you are still in cat/bear form. I'm sick and tired of getting destroyed by Rogues when I go to pick up the flag too. (though maybe I'm asking for it playing FC lol)
Would you say it's such a non-issue that you wouldn't even want a belt or neck rune to remedy the situation?
(not from playing fiddles..but that's a story for another time)
Don't casters deserve to contribute to raids at a high level like physical damage dealers do?
dual spec would be pretty cool
It's the community that's the biggest problem with SoD and phase 2 wont change that sadly.
Are you in on those changes or do you think they are mistakes?
remember... it's still classic.
U can't have paladins running on their mounts instantly in combat like retail... that's too much.
akhsdenlew I don't want to see retail either but more mobility is generally considered a good thing isn't it?
You don't seriously rebuff every 5 minutes in endgame raids do you?
jerome! you didnt get me credit >:( for the mage water issue
ok next time you get full credit, I think you said it first but I got it from sarthe the second time. will give you forgive me? I can give you 2 water at a time for many hours as payment.
Do not do not make QOL runes….
All you do by doing this is making a class the sacrificial lamb bc some people want longer buffs or more water….The outcome - you gimp the upside on dps and utility runes for a class…
I would rather have new skill runes than a rune for longer buffs..
Unless they’re more passive runes, I disagree. Do not want 10 button rotations
Ie making things more like tbc
they fixed all this stuff already, its called Wrath and Retail. this is classic, keep it classic with a twist, we dont want Retalissic
I just take it and throw it out. Been playing the long game, knew their future water would be relevant lol
FUCK thats smart hahaah@@NOHITJEROME
@@NOHITJEROME I wouldn't mind it coming in later phases , as long as we eventually do get it at some point.^^
As for mobility, I'm a bit on the fence about this.
PALADIN PROBLEM! they need to fix thret for paladin tanks, that's the biggest problem
The Paladin also needs a damage buff to holy damage
Hi Joe, Paladins do need more holy damage. I'd say it'd be fair if they lose some duration on HOJ..feel like I'm HOJed for 20 minutes a battleground these days. Got hit by a Paladin yesterday, went to make a sandwich, came back, still HOJed. I'd trade lower stuns for more damage.
Do you think the Ret rotation needs work too? Isn't it still basically autoattacks and runes at this point?
The fact that DIVINE storm is physical is wild to me
@@NOHITJEROME
that is true weird and true point. devalues my holy protection potions. i suppose making the storm holy would be a pve buff however?
You mentioned it a bit with meleee hunter and decreasing pet liabilty. But more is needed for melee hunter. BM spec and mm spec is just miles ahead in damage output than survival tree. Especislly in next phase where most of the bis gear is gonna come eith pure attsck power (lightning reflexes only scales with agi). With that bring said moongoose bite and the ability from survival tree that requires a parry proc are simply useless in pvp against casters and literally useless in PVE.. besides that they are VERY weak. Its a shame that melee hunter now is just bm spec with flanking strike. And its gonna be the same in phase 2 if not something drastically changes
give us new spells that actually promotes going half half on specs
that's actually a cool idea for new runes.
gain x,y or z ability if a certain skill tree has less than 20 points or something like that, x y and z changing depending on which skill tree you don't spec into
I like that ingineru.
@@NOHITJEROME I don't think they will, as balance would be hard to maintain.... but are things really balanced as they are? haha
Those darn totem pulling shaman😏and first👍
you're spot on!
Huh, I made it in.
congrats highlaw, what will you do with your newfound fame? a book deal? talk show circuits?
FoK should be at 60. Then again, pallies have their entire Wrath toolkit available, so i guess, go nuts and homogenize everything?
These clears ever had a problem with a single boss.
Maelstrom weapon for shaman!
I dont think Shams should be top dps, but mid or high mid would be great
QOL runes is such a waste. Either make it baseline or a learnable.
Good excuse not to pvp last night gj jerome. I just want hex and il be a happy boy abd make ghost wolf undispellable
Hex..you make good suggestions. (As long as shaman are Horde only hex works great for me lol) I'll also take undispellable ghost wolf so you have nothing to complain about when FCing. (except me when I run off on offense while you have 11 people chasing you..)
Do you want to see totemic recall? Any other QOL changes for shaman? Or just hex/ghost wolf
@NOHITJEROME if a shaman isn't brain dead they shouldn't need it but it's nice
hex makes me think of wrath arenas. very awful and unfun ability. i am only supporting it because i am horde and we get to hex the alliance. very much like that
I'm tired of getting my warrior butt kicked over and over in pvp against my fellow hordies 😢.
@@NOHITJEROME true, can't wait for berserker rage and intercept
there are 6 warrior builds right now and I switch even during the raid...just saying
Fascinating Benjamin, I assumed everyone was running the same DW spec right now. What are the differences between the builds? Very curious to learn more.
Sounds like you just need to play retail
And I'd just feel so cheated if I get totemic recall which gives me absolutely no advantage in a fight, and other classes are getting cool new stuff
why do ppl like you want to make classic into retail? dont give every class everything? like mobility and aoe. keep it limited to a few classes.
Hi knifegirl, you are right it would turn into something closer to retail.
But aren't we getting run down by 30% MS warriors with infinite in-combat charges?
Some classes are getting a lot more out of SoD than others aren't they?
All I heard for paladins was “make us stronger” ffs. Paladin mains cringe
Looks like paladins got their way, they will get a book for long buffs. Do you think it was a mistake?
Remember, if you "solve" all problems, then the game becomes boring and the classes uniformal. Just look at WotLK...
Quality of life improvement, delete Paladin.
Leveling mine atm
while fan of knives is good AoE it's not really that fun of an ability to use imo
I can’t tell if this is satire or not
Do you think these changes are too retail-esque? What makes you say they are satire? I am open to what you are saying, I would like to learn more.
I think this asking for little to much
It's probably asking for too much thomas.
(other than the priest MS which you astutely pointed out..that's just selfishness on my part lol)
Why do all these classes need AoE..MS..to be good at everything?
Pretty much every issue in this video can be fixed or somewhat mitigated with user input.
let me help you rq. SoD is a BAD game.
Hi blasfemy, it's a flawed game to be sure, but is it really bad? What problems do you see with it that can't be fixed?
My biggest problem is the dang ret paladins killing me while I quest and sending me back to hillsbrad.
Very disagreeable video
hi 9ntice, what do you disagree with? I am curious to hear your thoughts
