@@1jidionSean Bean just screams this character is going to die. I think he's only had like 3 movies he didn't. Troy, National Treasure, and like one other.
What’s wrong with Recasting? Babylon was a great and important character. I think Mandiverse suffers because they refuse not the include Luke & Leia in it more. Makes it feel insular and disconnected from the OT. For all the flaws of Dtar Wars Legands, at least the OT characters actually continued doing important things. Not merely have their characters freeze or relapse (like Han) until the Sequels. Same for the world building.
This is weirdly refreshing in the era of Disney's visual replacements. It's easy to say they should give Baylan a soft write-off, but given Filoni's comments about him off screen, I think this is what Ray would have wanted for the character.
I’m still gutted Ray Stevenson passed away he was imposing and had a gravitas as Baylan Skoll which was impressive and Star Wars needs more than stars they need proper actors,on a tangent the Sith in acolyte he plays the role brilliantly
The Sith in the Acolyte is bad. The writing is terrible. He literally comes out of nowhere. I didn't care for his character at all. The actor comes off as trying too hard to be intimidating. Baylan's original actor was far superior. He was a villain I wanted to see more of. Had real gravitas.
Baylan was the coolest damn thing from that show. His lightsaber would sell!!! For sure!!! As for my fancast recommendation….Hmmmm…. Maybe if George Clooney bulked up a bit and grew a kickass beard….?

Best thing they could do with the situation. Still tragic, Ray was my favorite performance in season one as Baylan, almost impossible shoes to fill. But a better alternative than dropping the character and taking another direction entirely.
Please recast him... I like to think that is what Ray would have wanted. Its ok to do this... imo it shows great respect for the character and the actor who initially brought that character to life.

Yeah it’s getting annoying. It was absolutely horrendous in Solo
The dune movies were great wdym
Ah yes "the horrible Dune remakes" 😅 But I do agree that blue filter is unpleasant
Large chunks of Dune are set in a blindingly bright desert and the unnaturally white filter used Oneida Prime for narrative reasons. The rest of the time they’re in caves.
The first scene of Dune pt2 couldn’t be more orange, what are you on about 🤣
They should cast the mountain from Game of Thrones😂
The guy who played the Hound would be better.
John Krasinski bears a resemblance, although he is much younger.
Makeup
I’d love him to play a younger Baylan in flashbacks or a spinoff
he’s got a very youthful voice, too… I don’t think it would work.
Liev Schreiber would be perfect
him or sean bean
Nah Graham mctavish is perfect for Baylan
@@1jidionSean Bean just screams this character is going to die. I think he's only had like 3 movies he didn't. Troy, National Treasure, and like one other.
@@gabrielcarrasco9078 there’s snowpiercer tv series, he didn’t die in that
Gerard Butler would be better
What’s wrong with Recasting? Babylon was a great and important character. I think Mandiverse suffers because they refuse not the include Luke & Leia in it more. Makes it feel insular and disconnected from the OT.
For all the flaws of Dtar Wars Legands, at least the OT characters actually continued doing important things. Not merely have their characters freeze or relapse (like Han) until the Sequels. Same for the world building.
I kinda just assumed that Shin Hati would serve as some sort of vessel for Abeloth to be honest. Baylon seemed to be using her for a higher purpose.
Cate Blanchett as Ableoth, or I one man riot!!
This is weirdly refreshing in the era of Disney's visual replacements. It's easy to say they should give Baylan a soft write-off, but given Filoni's comments about him off screen, I think this is what Ray would have wanted for the character.
In this case recasting Baylan is completely reasonable but the actor who plays him must be very respectful to the character which he made.
Had real gravitas.
thomas jane
Graham McTavish would be the perfect recast.
I wonder if the new guy will play a role in further developing Baylan’s character like Ray did for season 1.
What if Baylan found a fountain that makes him younger? So another actor can fill his role
Baylan was the coolest damn thing from that show. His lightsaber would sell!!! For sure!!!
As for my fancast recommendation….Hmmmm…. Maybe if George Clooney bulked up a bit and grew a kickass beard….?
Part of me is sad that they're recasting Baylan after Ray Stevenson's stellar performance, he really was fantastic, but it does make sense, and there isn't really a better solution. This is one of those "Making the best out of the situation we're in" creative choices that's a damned shame when it happens.
Thank God, there will be a season 2.
I’m fine with him being recast. Though Ray will be very hard to top. And omg they’re doing Abaloth???!!! That’s awesome! And terrifying.
Seeya in 2026 or Seven for Season 2. Its a slow process.
My vote to replace Ray Stevenson: Vincent Regan. Yes, Abeloth is on the way. Wonder if the new male villain is some alien species new to this other galaxy and Peridea? Imagine if he ends up being Rakatan or Zeffo!
Benjamin Byron Davis as Baylon? (Dutch from Red dead)
I always thought Craig Fairbrass would be a good cast for Baylan, similar height and build.
If Disney can recast Baylan, why couldn't they recast T'Challa?
Take the 180 million from Acolyte and spend it doing total CG/AI of Stevenson as Baylan with his families consent.
