Honestly I’d much rather get a remaster of the original game that ups the textures and introduces native support for modern resolutions, heck throw ray tracing in there too idc. I don’t want a remake because you just know they’ll modern audience the shit out of it. They can’t help themselves. The dialogue story and characters don’t need altering. At all. Given how their CEO felt "down-to earth" in the YT comment. I don't think they would start from a very deep water to... make kotor 3 without at least selling remasters of the older games, but I think the age of the games makes remakes much more optimal way.
Not just the age, but the engines are spaghetti messes not allowing remasters really. Even mods can't do much besides textures and weapons looking slightly higher poly. No, it NEEDS ported to a new engine even for a simple remaster, but at that point a remake is the better option. Smooth out the admittedly clunky gameplay of the original, give it an action combat system(no one would cry over the removal of dice roll combat. Ignore anyone claiming otherwise), and expanded upon story/worlds.
I swear to Christ, Disney better leave them alone and just let them do a faithful remake I got a really sneaky suspicion that Disney does not want to make Knights of the Old Republic Canon in Disney Star Wars. So they're going to make changes to fit more in line with Disney Star Wars. No, just no a thousand times no!
Revan is already Canon the events of the game may not be yet but they definitely plan on making it Canon at some point this remake wouldn't have made it Canon anyway though
@@ПетрПетров-о6ъ9нIf thats the case, doesnt matter if it does not alter the story much IMO. They did have a force bond, so it does not really interrupt much.
Take a look into the names of remakes. Dead Space isn't titled "Dead Space Remake", neither are the Resident Evil remakes. The FF7 "remake" is titled exactly that because of lore, as the sequel is also named Rebirth instead of "Remake Part 2". I don't think it's a deep reason, but obviously the game has been undergone a lot of changes.
I hope you’re wrong. I hope they’re reevaluating and deciding on a remaster rather than remake. A remake just isn’t going to live up the original writing. RE4 and Dead Space are different beasts, those games were always kind of goofy. It’s ok to rewrite the story cause they’re just one offs. They’re rebooting the whole franchise. KOTOR deserves better than that
I noticed something interesting recently about this game. I was looking at jobs and noticed something about a marketting position that opened up at Disney under Lucasfilms and their games division. They listed a few games the studio is known for. Star Wars Outlaws was first listed and then it was Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Jedi Survior, and one other I can't remember, but also recent. Kotor stood out the most to me, and I was wondering why they would list that one specifically. Part of me was thinking that they are looking to finally start marketing the game and the third and final entry for the Jedi series. While it is a popular Star Wars game and worth putting, there are other new games they could have stated like Star Wars Battlefront 2 that weren't. I'm very much hoping that they do work on this game and we get to see something soon.
We don't need more Star Wars deconstruction stories. KOTOR 2 was a mess anyways story-wise, and The Last Jedi was another example on how deconstructions do not make good Star Wars stories.
@@comicsans1689 The reason the game is such a mess is that they had 14 months to make the damn thing. If they had a reasonable schedule, they would've been able to fix stuff like the dumbass refugee side quest on nar shaddaa
@@BogBilberryBagginsAGD Giving Obsidian time means nothing. They actually make better games when they are rushed. KOTOR 2 and New Vegas are more beloved than Neverwinter Nights 2 and Alpha Protocol. In fact, Alpha Protocol had four years of development yet it released in the same state as KOTOR 2. The truth is that Obsidian does not know how to create reasonable development goals. They have lofty plans that can never be fully realized, and they struggle to condense them into something cohesive. Compare them to when Bioware rushed to release Jade Empire. Obsidian's management is the weakest link.
I want a remake because I can basically remaster the game through mods. Sure, it is not the same, but the chance to play as a Revan properly in his own game with high-quality graphics as well as more refined controls would be so good.
Not everyone can mod their games. Newcomers deserve the chance to experience this classic in modern graphics, especially if it’s reintegrated into canon. The only benefit of a remake is that people who played the original would get a slightly different (albeit worse) version of the story. A remaster that changes the gameplay but keeps everything else as it was offers benefits for EVERYONE
@Arander92 How would you know the story would be worse. Also, I get modding can be difficult, but we do live in a world where you can google how to do it, especially since Kotor is so simple when modding. Also, I do not want another battlefront classic collection experience. I am not spending another £30 for a game with slightly better graphics when I can spend £60 on a game with a brand new engine and possibly reworked controls that are similar yet different to the original. I don't mind remasters, but I am just paying more for a game I already have. Let people rework these stories and create their own. Also, Kotor has a great story, not a brilliant one, I can live with a change of story if it means I can experience something new.
@@Arander92 Remakes don’t always change the story. A remaster would be very limited in terms of graphical improvements. And a lot of people I’ve spoken to won’t even touch the game because of the gameplay.
I just want it done right, make me feel the magic of kotr without feeling try hard or any type of gender bending/ politicians agenda. It would be fine if it's just a remaster, it would sell just fine. Just want the game and fingers crossed for it done with care.
For me I would just love a new RPG star wars game. One where you start off as a Padawan and move up. There's plenty of room to make the game in between the old and new republic. They could even go further back in time and do the exar kun war era.
I'm hoping for both a remake and a remastered. Either is fine for me, I want to go back into the Old Republic a kick Malek's butt again and again. If it's a remake I hope the Character Customizer is reworked, and maybe add more clothing/weapon designs. I hope that it does super well and they rework/remaster Sith Lords next, maybe add the deleted content and whatnot.
I think it could get a reannouncement at the game awards, or at star wars celebration next year. Either way I think we could be getting news fairly soon
What if the reason they're not calling it The knights of the Old Republic remake is because they're not remaking just the first one what if they're remaking both and adding them together in a bundle kind of game
Just give a simple remaster with modern resolution support. I don't need new quest lines or new companions. The entire love interest/ fuck every pixel on the screen has no real place in the original story. Yes I know the entire Bastila/ Carth thing is huge part of the story which is fine. But I don't need to romance Bastila's mom or Zalabaar. It's weird how in the last 25 years you have to have 10 romance options in a game aimed at pre-teens and younger. Having a limit on two is fine, which the relationship building in the old games wasn't focused on romance, it was a nice bonus at the end of the game. However I enjoy the fact that its not a must or isn't fisted down the players throat like in mass effect or dragon age. Its Star wars and giving it a heavy or serious romance is just out of place and weird to me.
KOTOR was rated T for teen, and Mass Effect was rated M for mature; neither were aimed at pre-teens and younger. Players from the era in which those games were made enjoyed the romance options. I'd rather have a choice of 10 romantic suitors than being pushed into an arranged relationship (makes for better roleplaying). I'd say those games were groundbreaking, in that respect.
When you said reboot as an option, I do wonder if perhaps they will go back to the Mandalorian Wars and start the new game series from there. It seems like an effective tie in with the more recent Mandalorian TV show which will also be worked on as a movie as a means to reach new audiences.
@Temple277 I hope so, too. I am primarily a PS player, but all this exclusive stuff just stops me from buying certain games. I can't afford to buy an Xbox Series X just to play the new Halo game or whatever, so that means that many people miss out. I get that most people can afford to, so they do gain money from exclusive games, but I just want to play Halo on PS and Spider-Man on XBox
It was so bad Sony asked for their money back lol. That exclusivity was over years ago. However, all that being said, I'm still pissed I can't play Kotor on my PS.
Yeah. I'm hoping that whatever form it takes, Reboot, Reimagine, or Remaster it's still a great KotOR game, not some new thing trying to ride the love so many people have for the originals
@@eksqc2825 no it's clickbait, "everythings change" what changes -- nothing at all, they're still working on it just don't use "remake" that's all it boils down too. "might change everything" it changes fuck all

I camt see a sequel without Chris avellone being all that compelling given how swtor and its tie in books went ans the fact that Karpyshyn has already shown he's happy to disregard kotor 2 content
It's smart to not have any news until KOTOR is ready to be shown. Whether it's a reimagining or a remake with the same mechanics, the game will be one of the most anticipated RPGs since Final Fantasy VII Remake.
I'd take a remake over remaster any day, thank you. Unless it'd get an Age of Empires Definitive Edition treatment but I doubt it. I don't see any room for a worthwhile remaster in KotOR, I don't think it would be that much better than original game with texture mods and a reshade
I will never understand this opinion. If you love the old game so much, why are you so keen on them removing everything that made it a classic (dialogue, performances, script, etc) and replacing it with a reinterpretation that WILL be worse than what we originally got? It will not hold a candle to the original game because the writing talent that created it in the first place is not there to make it good. This just feels so shortsighted to me. It’s clearly a better idea to remaster KOTOR I&II and then just make KOTOR III like we’ve all wanted for decades
@@Arander92Nah no thanks. At this point a Kotor 3 is just gonna suck. I'm loving SW Outlaws, but at this point it's obvious modern SW is just it's own modern reinterpretation. The divide in all content is very obvious post 2012 and the people that made Kotor have moved on long ago. Tor is as close to a true sequel, we are ever going to get it was made by a lot of that old team, even drew wrote a bunch of it. I'd rather they retooled that gameplay and release it a SP box product.
I love my kotor and kotor 2 overly modded versions, but the Mass Effect Legendary Edition and the amazing work of the modding community for that game has made me think a remaster for it might be a decent thing. Though I am still hoping on an eventual Kotor 3 since the multiverse came into public eye since marvel.
I want a really good quality remaster like diablo 2 or command and conquer. Where everything is the same just with visual and quality improvements. That said, KOTOR could be better with just remaking the game into something modern and even larger. Disney probably wants it completely remade because they keep taking Lucas Arts titles and making it their own. It's not the old republic anymore, it's now the high republic or something I heard. So they will probably have a list of what they want in the game to make it fit the mouse storylines.
I don’t get why people would want a remaster of the game. I get that a remake could potentially suck but I’d be willing to take the risk to maybe get a game with the same awesome story with added good combat instead of the janky ass combat from the original
They don't, though. Maybe like a few? Lol, hardly a ton. Remaster basically means re-release. We don't need another re-release port of kotor. Absolutely do not need. No one needs it. Will not make good sales. This is a remake. And it might suck. But they might as well cancel it if it's a remaster. @@Andyman269

It honestly sounds like a silent hype project. The merchandise being released quietly and the lack of attention on what could be another game of the year tells me that they are waiting for something in particular. What that is, I can't say, but I think it might be things like this video and the reactions to it. If they have decided it isn't a remake anymore they could be looking to see what the pre-existing fan-base thinks before really ramping up into full development.
Excellent find man!! I'd probably fall in the camp of thinking they just dropped the word remake and it will still be that. As you said, Dead Space, Resident Evil etc have done it. Yet again Until Dawn doesn't have anything else in the name and that's more of a remaster/remake hybrid.
What I'm afraid of is that they're not saying the name because the game that they're actually making could better be described as "Disneyfied Knights of the High Republic", but they want all the KOTOR fans to spend all their money on it so it doesn't crash when it turns out it's closer to The Acolyte than the game everyone loves
I have a feeling and hope that the omission of “Remake” from the title is actually a positive. I think Sabre is actually changing the fighting game play in the reboot of the series to make it more in line with modern gaming. I see it being like Jedi Survivor but with less puzzles and open world like the original. What would be great is the z as nice mentioned plus a Starfield or No Mans Sky type planet movement. Wishful thinking but that would make this epic
Thanks for covering, to me it definitely does look like some sort of re-announcement coming next year. I am sure saber has very different goals for it than aspyr had at first
out of all yt tabs I had open this one keeps misbehaving. I either get no video and just audio or both but they keep buffering every 5 seconds despite excellent connection. So I simply had it as audio only, very weird behavior and I have no idea why only for your video it worked like that. Anyway- I'm glad they openly acknowledge it's on top of their list so I think it will be done eventually. Remake or remaster or whatever doesn't really matter to me as long as it's of quality. Sadly I think the dev team working on it is not the same people who worked for Space Marine 2 so I wont expect the same level of polish
on one hand I really want the KOTOR remake/remaster to happen and be good. On the other I see the original game, a game I have played and replayed numerous times and think "Well I can play this awesome game" and thus realize I don't NEED a remake/remaster no matter whether it be good or bad. So when the original reveal made me jump up and down (at the expense of my fragile back) but now after that excitement has settled I am not in any particular rush to see this game come out.
I don’t care, i trust the company. I have a lot of friends who loved the space marine lore who say theyre massively in love with space marine and that its a dream come true. I'm cautiously optimistic. And worst comes to worst, we still have some amazing fan productions of KOTOR out there, and can still celebrate the original two games and MMO.

My friend I'm just going to say that I admire you're passion and dedication towards KOTOR and I'll always be a big fan of your work. I've told you before since it's been 3 years now since they announced the KOTOR remake and not much has come of it that you should consider giving up on this. However like I said before I like your devotion for this game so hopefully it does come out some day
we should try a reverse sociology to this, they make remakes of games no one asks for. We should just tell them we do not want this and than they will make it a get it out in no time lol they make an Ebon Hawk toy I swear I will buy it little to no questions asked LOL
Feel like they could be combining one and two and add on the adventures of Revan and meetra surik afterwards or possibly have a custom character option for both that meet up after the events of two
Knowing how ambitious Saber Interactive is as a development studio this is for sure going to be a Kotor reboot. However if they do take this approach I hope they don’t dumbed down like Space Marine II or Jedi Academy and instead keep it FULLY story interactive first (with multiple choice dialogue options) and Gameplay focused second like Kotor and SWTOR.
Speaking of KotOR merchandise, two years ago, I actually dressed up as Revan for Halloween. I won first prize in the costume contest saying Revan's most iconic line: "I am Revan reborn! And before me, you are nothing!" I even reenacted the scene with my friend Ean Baker, wherein he was Revan and I was Malak. I even made him say: "You were the Chosen One!" after Malak dies, even though neither Revan nor Malak is the Chosen One. The Chosen One is, of course, Anakin Skywalker.
Damn that is so cool. I made a Revan pumpkin about 4 years ago and dressed, poorly, as revan with an old 1999 hasbro red lightsaber, even though I was born in 2006. Anyway, I love your story.
I know that this is a huge dream, but what I am hoping for this is to kinda start a new trilogy, based odd the original. What I mean is that they get to make the full original revan storyline in someway, and remake the second one, fix all the issues and have it actually be finished, and finally make the third game that will finish the KotOR storyline. I know this is a pipe dream though but seeing that they might be making something more of their own kinda gives me a bit of excitement because if they do it well, they could make a sequel and so on.
The way I see them calling the KOTOR Remake just “KOTOR” reminds me of when Nintendo remade Super Mario RPG but just called it “Super Mario RPG” instead of Super Mario RPG Remake/Remaster like most games would is because the title “Remake” is something us fans would call it so that way we wouldn’t get it confused with the originals. Sorry if this comment is confusing but I tried to explain it as best as I could
Honestly, waiting 3 years since announcement only for them to reveal it as a "remaster" instead would be the biggest let down. Modders have already found ways to upscale textures, to the point where a remaster is just utterly pointless. Waiting 3 years compared to what modders could do in mere months is just not worth the wait.
More confident than ever that this happens now given the success of Space Marines, investments, plus the free cash flow visibility on the Kotor remake given the development stage.
So…… if it’s not a remake/remaster…. the overhaul total conversion mod was DMCA’D and we won’t be able to play it with modern graphics/controls (namely jumping)
Only thing that needs to change about this game is that they need to have kotor 2 gameplay with kotor 1 story. And whatever skills/feats you can add. Maybe custom lightsabers and blasters and maybe Yuthura Ban as a companion. But nothing else.
I dunno about the name change, but it seems likely that they're avoiding advertising the game yet because they're not far enough in the development. As a few mistakes made by Paradox recently have shown us, it's not a good idea to raise the hype too early, not until you're relatively confident that you can keep your schedule and the game will be in an acceptable condition when going into early access (let alone if they don't do early access at all).
I still remember playing KOTOR on Xbox with a buggy disc and having my jaw drop at the plot twist. I saved the game and went straight to bed 😂 I just hope they keep the story mostly intact. I'm ok with some modernized mechanics as long as there's some depth and customization
I heard a rumor stating that the reason the title lost the remake in it is because they are putting KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2 sith lords put together with all original content. But then again this was heard A bit ago. It might be worth considering it as a theory from some random. I am hoping they are keeping their vision.
Apathetic to this still. Trendier news for me would be that Reforged rerelease of the first Broken Sword that supercedes its rough Director's Cut, as an aside.
People who say they'd rather have a remaster than a remake are most likely confusing these two terms and in fact they want a remake, which is a reasonable thing to wish for as the game has aged very badly and new textures wouldn't fix it. People are now buying PC equipment that's eons ahead of what was available at the game's launch. New game engines are also many generations ahead of the game engine for the original KOTOR. It'd be sad not to take advantage of the newest technologies and introduce this game to a whole new audience. Perhaps few more side quests here and there would also bring a dose of fresh air from the story perspective to the old gamers.
Sounds to me like it's exactly as expected. Removing "remake" from the title doesn't necessarily mean a thing. It's still technically the correct name of the game, remake or otherwise. Not listing the game on the website could just be a gag order from Disney too. Only other possibility I can think of is that they removed "remake" from the title because it's potentially both the first and second game being released together? Just a thought.
Possible explanation: It's a pivot towards a reimagining rather than a true remake - ie: Saber started over. Reason being, if the remake was in as much trouble as it was - and the greater gaming community has probably forgotten about it since its original reveal trailer - then why not distance yourself from the Aspyr version, its history (and its ill-deserved bad press) and make something different using the name? It's a subtle change, but a big distinction, and it could be an attempt to make a fresh start.
As someone who is actually in the process of making my own armor of Revan…the lack of any tangible information regarding this remake is extremely frustrating. I mean, this should be a Michael Jordan slam dunk. The context of the story is already written, you have a fanbase waiting to spend loads of cash on the brand…so…what’s the damn hold up?…
@@Arander92 precisely. Which is why the lack of anything tangible to discuss about this game at this point and time is unacceptable. What more do you need?

Nice find! It might be that the marketing for the game will start building up soon who knows!
More than a KOTOR remake at this point I would love KOTOR 3 properly made. Especially with Chris Avellone at the helm
We don't need more Star Wars deconstruction stories. KOTOR 2 was a mess anyways story-wise, and The Last Jedi was another example on how deconstructions do not make good Star Wars stories.
@@comicsans1689i thought the story of the jedi exile was pretty clear and concise, what didnt you like about it?
@@jon7684 The story really meanders around so that Kreia has more time to preach to you. And post-Telos is a confusing mess, TSLRCM or not.
It could be a rebrand to distance itself from aspyr and Sony
Possible
What if they just fucking remaster 1 and 2 and then also add 3 all in one game and that's why it's taking so long. The world would set on fire
This is what I’m PRAYING for🙏🏾
That's what the OG devs said they wanted to do back then. Fuck EA!!!
Don’t hold your breath. The game industry is crashing.
That’s what I was thinking/hoping for
Dont make me cum like that
I want a remake because I can basically remaster the game through mods.
@Arander92 Sorry, I don't mean to come across as rude. If you want a remaster, then request away, I just wanted to share my view.
@@Arander92 Remakes don’t always change the story. A remaster would be very limited in terms of graphical improvements. And a lot of people I’ve spoken to won’t even touch the game because of the gameplay.
@@Arander92 Not all remakes are worse. Dead Space? Better.
RE1R? Better, infsct it's the gold standard.
Most are equivalent to the original even.
I just want it done right, make me feel the magic of kotr without feeling try hard or any type of gender bending/ politicians agenda. It would be fine if it's just a remaster, it would sell just fine. Just want the game and fingers crossed for it done with care.
Since it's cut content from the original game...what if they finished the romance with Juhani and the female PC?
It probably will be. Lets be real
With Saber CEO's recent stuff I am actually optimistic.
For me I would just love a new RPG star wars game. One where you start off as a Padawan and move up. There's plenty of room to make the game in between the old and new republic. They could even go further back in time and do the exar kun war era.
PLEASE KEEP DISNEY AWAY FROM THE OLD REPUBLIC
Phenomenal detective work! Appreciate you keeping us informed 💯
Having played a lot of space marine 2 lately, saber genuinely have my faith for now. Imo kotor is in genuinely great hands
I wonder if it will include KOTOR 2, same engine and what not so it could be a "Complete" edition.
and incl. the lost "dlc" content of kotor 2 too
I think it could get a reannouncement at the game awards, or at star wars celebration next year. Either way I think we could be getting news fairly soon
My same Thoughts.
If their doing a remaster, I sure hope their adding Sleyheron and Yuthura as a companion.
And a love interest.
Why? They don't add much.
@@Lewis-jn8ry They couldnt add much because they were scapped concepts lol
I think its unnecessary.
Space Marine 2 was so fkn good, if they are the devs behind KOTOR now I'm WAY more positive about the project than when fkn Aspyr were involved.
What if the reason they're not calling it The knights of the Old Republic remake is because they're not remaking just the first one what if they're remaking both and adding them together in a bundle kind of game
Then ima be happy they can take my money now
Here's a thought. They should have brought on the apeiron dev to do an official remake and let them cook.
Dragon Age Origins did pretty well with its approval meter opening up romance paths, but also opening up new friendly dialogue as well.
As much as I love the original KotOR, I think I would prefer a new entry in the same series or style over a remake or remaster.
When you said reboot as an option, I do wonder if perhaps they will go back to the Mandalorian Wars and start the new game series from there. It seems like an effective tie in with the more recent Mandalorian TV show which will also be worked on as a movie as a means to reach new audiences.
Who knows! Anything is a possibility...
I certainly hope this means the exclusivity for PS goes away.
I hope so very much this KOTOR (or whatever) game doesn't become a hyped up bomb.
Yeah. I'm hoping that whatever form it takes, Reboot, Reimagine, or Remaster it's still a great KotOR game, not some new thing trying to ride the love so many people have for the originals
Click bait, nothing to see here
I mean not really clickbait, this is a new update that the game is alive and well
@@eksqc2825 no it's clickbait, "everythings change" what changes -- nothing at all, they're still working on it just don't use "remake" that's all it boils down too.

Yeah it’s clickbait but it’s still cool they show the game is still alive and in making
Wish they would just make Kotor 3 with Chris Avellone as the director and along with Drew Karpyshyn as the chief writer. I know that will never ever happen, but I dream of a kotor 3 such as that.
I camt see a sequel without Chris avellone being all that compelling given how swtor and its tie in books went ans the fact that Karpyshyn has already shown he's happy to disregard kotor 2 content
They only need Chris Avellone. And he worked on the Fallen Order games, so there’s precedent for him working on SW recently
Drew has a bad case of Dave Filoni syndrome when it comes to characters he didn’t invent.
@@mleadenham1 100%! He created Revan who was great, but he also created Kai Leng... talk about dropping the ball on character creation lol
Well Swtor Is a direct sequel, but changing the genre
in a world fulll of capcom remakes, why oh why cant we just get a solid Bioware remake.
This and Dragon Age Origins man...
It's smart to not have any news until KOTOR is ready to be shown. Whether it's a reimagining or a remake with the same mechanics, the game will be one of the most anticipated RPGs since Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The Legend has returned! Thanks for the update man!
I dunno, I've been around for a few weeks :P
@@100StarWars I know you’ve been around. It’s just nice to hear a KOTOR update. Again thanks for that.
Remaster or remake…as long as they take their time to make a great game that’s completed and polished it’ll make no real difference to me.
Dude i had no idea there was Revan stuff on sale.
My son is named after Revan, so you know i gotta look into this
Have fun shopping! ;)
@@Arander92 What's shortsighted is your immediate assumption that it will be worse than the original
Tons of remasters also update combat mechanics
They don't, though. Maybe like a few? Lol, hardly a ton. Remaster basically means re-release. We don't need another re-release port of kotor. Absolutely do not need. No one needs it. Will not make good sales. This is a remake. And it might suck. But they might as well cancel it if it's a remaster. @@Andyman269
@@Andyman269yeah and a lot of them don't look like crap. I'll take the remake over a remaster any day of the week.
It's been awhile since I've checked in on your channel Luke.
It's still awesome as always.
My thought is that if they make it a traditional TPS as opposed to the D20 RPG style of game, then it's technically not a remake.
I like they are being quiet about the game tbh
No news is good news as they say...
@@Italiangentleman2394 There’s being quiet, and then there is acting like they are ashamed of their product. If I was a game developer who had the rights to KOTOR, I’d be dancing on the rooftops! Saber on the other hand, acts like they are the subject of a 60 Minutes expose whenever they are asked about their game.
So nothing new then?
I feel like if they were already into heavily into development then they wouldn’t scrap it just to remaster it
Me: trying to give my sims the perfect life I can’t have
My sim: starts a massive house fire, gets electrocuted, gets abducted and impregnated by aliens
If space marine 2 devs are the one making this game we are truly going to eat good
They are keeping it secret for good reason.
Maybe it will be a true remake. I hope it is. I hope the story follows the original story.
It'll probably be closer to Xenoblade, it's a CRPG, not a Soulslike.
Jedi survivor is in a completely different genre, and the sekiro combat wouldn't mesh at all with kotor's multi-character gameplay
Thanks for covering, to me it definitely does look like some sort of re-announcement coming next year. I am sure saber has very different goals for it than aspyr had at first
I think a re-announcement is most likely!
out of all yt tabs I had open this one keeps misbehaving.
So my question is when are they going to do KOTOR 2? Maybe they will actually complete the game this time
Hmmm.... hopefully it will be a great game.
on one hand I really want the KOTOR remake/remaster to happen and be good.
I hope it’s good especially after outlaws
I don’t care, i trust the company. I have a lot of friends who loved the space marine lore who say theyre massively in love with space marine and that its a dream come true. I know these guys will do kotor justice. Especially since warhammers themes are not woke coded and are gruesome. Just like kotor 🔥
So they might be completely scrapping the KOTOR canon, and putting a new one in.
You would make a good Leo Strauss scholar. Reading between the lines lol
I'm cautiously optimistic. And worst comes to worst, we still have some amazing fan productions of KOTOR out there, and can still celebrate the original two games and MMO.
I’m with you on the first two games, but I don’t even acknowledge the MMO. Completely ruins Revan in multiple ways
@@Arander92 in my opinion I think the MMO and the Revan Novel are Good Products but for me they will never be Kotor lll since they make everything Kreia said in Kotor 2 About Revan Pointless and make him a Damn Normal Sith Lord (while he is Supposed to be Much more) and Kills The Exile Meetra Surik Especially After Everything She has Gone through but for The Rest is a Good Spin-off if ya have never Played Kotor 1 or 2 or if have a Different Timeline Like Headcanon.
Ps also like Gameplay,Graphics are not Bad and the Quest and The Companions were Amazing but it Will never be Kotor lll for me.
Feel like they could be combining one and two and add on the adventures of Revan and meetra surik afterwards or possibly have a custom character option for both that meet up after the events of two
I just feel as though the word “Remake” is an identifier, and won’t be a part of the title.
it’s probably considered a reboot instead now. You could have skipped making this video bud.
Hopefully Saber isn’t that foolish. They would defeat themselves before the battle even began
Yo thats straight 🔥🔥🔥
Shit definitely deserved that first place prize
Congrats to your first prize winning!
To me Revan's most iconic line will always be "Fat people always lie."
Sounds awesome!!
Sorry if this comment is confusing but I tried to explain it as best as I could
Star Wars RPG seems like it would be huge, and adding on to this timeline would kill if it’s done right
Honestly, waiting 3 years since announcement only for them to reveal it as a "remaster" instead would be the biggest let down. Modders have already found ways to upscale textures, to the point where a remaster is just utterly pointless. Waiting 3 years compared to what modders could do in mere months is just not worth the wait.
More confident than ever that this happens now given the success of Space Marines, investments, plus the free cash flow visibility on the Kotor remake given the development stage.
i need this and star wars eclipse right now
So…… if it’s not a remake/remaster…. the overhaul total conversion mod was DMCA’D and we won’t be able to play it with modern graphics/controls (namely jumping)
I have a bad (DEI) feeling about this
I still remember playing KOTOR on Xbox with a buggy disc and having my jaw drop at the plot twist. I saved the game and went straight to bed 😂 I just hope they keep the story mostly intact. I'm ok with some modernized mechanics as long as there's some depth and customization
We just gotta be patient and let them cook that’s all.

Aperion was the real remake om not paying for any changes for modern audiences screw this
People who say they'd rather have a remaster than a remake are most likely confusing these two terms and in fact they want a remake, which is a reasonable thing to wish for as the game has aged very badly and new textures wouldn't fix it.
I mean when the resident evil remakes release it’s always just the game title. I feel like this means nothing at all
honestly i would rather have a game set in the old republic rather then a remake
I hope they use the Kotor II upgrade system rather than Kotor I
As someone who is actually in the process of making my own armor of Revan…the lack of any tangible information regarding this remake is extremely frustrating. I mean, this should be a Michael Jordan slam dunk. The context of the story is already written, you have a fanbase waiting to spend loads of cash on the brand…so…what’s the damn hold up?…
“The context of the story is already written”
Screw that, the STORY ITSELF is already written! They don’t even need to hire writers!
