I hope Baylan doesn't end up being a secret apprentice of Vader. I've said this since the original speculations. Just make him a rival of Anakin during the clone wars. Perhaps he believed the chosen one prophecy was about him. Or he wanted it to be

Yeah. I was cautiously optimistic when it was announced. It ended up being a total snooze except for Baylan, Anakin, and Thrawn to a lesser extent. I rewatched the Anakin portion multiple times. Didn't rewatch anything for Ahsoka. I actually ended up rooting for Baylan over her in the end.
@@therightperspective8690 Same. Baylan is a legend. Ahsoka is one of my favourite Star Wars characters from that time period. Perhaps even my favourite. Clone Wars/Rebels Ahsoka that is. And to a lesser extent Mando Ahsoka as she still holds pretty true to Ahsoka. But the Ahsoka from her own show isn't Ahsoka. She's an imposter and I found myself rooting for Baylan. I also love Ray Stevenson. He's one of my favourite actors. Who wouldn't love Titus Pullo.

@@DaNewWaveLee Really. Everyone I talk to about it and most reviewers tend to generally hold the view that Baylan is best character in the show. And I feel that 'matching Ahsoka" is not a high bar. Her character was terrible.
And maybe my opinion is influenced by my love of Ray Stevenson, but I think he embodied a disillusioned ex Jedi who understood there was more nuance between the light and the dark than the Jedi had let on. And that beard.
People keep talking about Ashoka crossing her arms and I guess they never noticed that Anakin always did that and she developed that habit from him. you know "HER MASTER".
It’s more of the personality that the arms cross symbolize. Very apathetic.

But I'm sure deep down in the high heavens he wants us to continue the TV series because we all want to see. ahsoka At her full potential as the embodiment of the Daughter and to see Anakin Skywalker at his full potential as the Chosen One and see other characters like Luke, Ezra and many other Jedi like Cal etc may GOD Help us all always and may the force be with us always.

@JustLikeTheSimulations No they didn’t. Anakin was the only one who had his memories tampered with. And that was his knowledge of becoming Vader. Anakin, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan all recollect. Otherwise they wouldn’t have alluded to it with Rex towards the end of the arc. Yoda wouldn’t have inquired about it in S6, and definitely wouldn’t have made a comeback in rebels.
Maybe he will find a temple of the father but there will be no father cause he is dead. but there will be Anakin. and they will fight Anakin will kill him.
They could filmed this already in season 1 but who knows.

He was such a great character. With how much AI is progressing, I’ll bet they will find a way to create his character in AI if the don’t recast. Tbh I hope the do AI. Besides like Sean Connery, I really don’t think anyone could fill his shoes.

Obi Wan , Anakin and Ashoka all lost their memories of what happened in regards to Mortis. In their minds it never happened.
No they didn’t. Because Anakin and co. alluded to Rex that he wouldn’t believe them if they said what would happen at the end of the arc’s episode. And in season 6, Yoda inquired about it whenever he was hearing Qui-Gon’s voice to Anakin. Meaning they clearly told the council and clearly recollect.
I think you mean the vision by The Son that Anakin had on Mortis, which was in fact erased by The Father.
I loved Ashoka I hope they find a good replacement for the actor
Im just glad that they are replacing him with a new actor after his passing rather than just forgetting about the character as him and Shin really carried that show 50% of the time and the other 50% it was carried by Lars Mikkelsen/Thrawn.

I’m excited for season two the only thing season one was missing was starweirds I was hoping they would finally appear while they were going outside of the galaxy it would’ve made for a good horror themed filler episode would’ve been even cooler if it was Anakin Skywalker’s force ghost that came in and saved Ahsoka by using force light to destroy the Starweirds basically disintegrating them with pure light side energy

Disney cant just let something die along with the actors who died, its not right to continue a series when a main characters actor dies, i remember when shows would be ended when someone on the cast dies but i guess we are past the time of where studios honor the death by not continuing the show without the actor. I know Disney has lost a viewer in myself once an for all.

If memory serves right regarding the mortis arc, Anakin, Obi Wan and Ahsoka have no recollection of their time in Mortis. Almost as if it never happened.

They didn't forget the whole thing, but Anakin had the future memories erased.
The Mortis thing was reported, and that is why Palpatine knows about it in Rebels.

Balin can't be starkiller because starkiller was a little kid between episode 3 and 4 when Vader found him , balin was probably a Jedi knight at the time when he saw the Jedi temple fall meaning a young adult the timeline wouldn't add up.

yeah i do not get why he needed to bring in starkiller in this video. He will never be canon and even if introduced he can only be starkiller by Name. I do not think that Baylan helped founding the Rebel alliance. I think he just wanting to say that maybe he was Vaders apprentice but that cannot work either with the Sith Inqisitors now in Canon filling that role basiclly.

The father, son, and daughter are filoni's characters. The mother is not.
Filoni is 99% more likely to bring back one of his character or even all three before bringing in the op mother...
But the Ones being connected to Abeloth is straight out of Legends. It stands to reason with all the references to them, plus them being dead beyond a doubt, that Abeloth might be brought in.
Abeloth is going to appear. It was already announced that a actress for Abeloth is being looked for.
And if you think about it, thrawn is not one of Dave's characters and he pushed and pushed to make sure they brought him to the screen outside of the cartoon rebels!

I don't think anakin would intentionally spare him. He was trying to save padme. I think he'd slaughter every last wife child and cutest pet if it meant a chance for padme's life to be spared and for his betrayal to mean anything. He murdered every single Jedi indiscriminately that first week, or at least attempted to.

Of course, Vader wouldn't have spoken highly of Ahsoka. But he could have mentioned her in a respectful way. If I remember correctly when they meet in Rebels he tries to turn her. There is only one other person he gives that choice: Luke. So clearly he does have love for her, though less than he has for Luke.
Baylan *probably* didn't know Vader. He knew Anakin from before the order was destroyed and Anakin definitely WOULD have spoken very highly of his Padawan during the clone wars.

So if it is the mother she's most likely just tricking and guiding him to free her or something she would be someone that's powerful enough to do so I would think. it would be wonderful to see a standalone 3hr Vader film or 7hr Vader film trilogy w Hayden Christensen & Ian McDiarmid that serves as perspective pieces for each of their characters
(ex: similar to what the ‘Mandalorian & Grogu’ film project / Thrawn film project will do to tie post RotJ/pre sequel trilogy media together, including BoBF, TM, Ahsoka & Rebels)
a parallel to any/all existing media (digital, print, comics, animated series, tv series, films) in post the RotS era and leading up to (or through) RotJ
I hope they just use technology to recreate his face like they did with Luke in his most recent appearance.
Ray was such a a good actor. I hope whomever takes up Baylon's mantle has the same Gravitas. An older Star killer, would probably be the most powerful Jedi of his time. At least down to a razor thin margin between, he and Luke from Legends. Starkiller could sink Imperial Starcruisers...AND Asohka is a top 10 duelist, the fact that Baylon could best her, is impressive.
I doubt he was an inquisitor and i doubt he was a sith apprentice. The knowledge of Paridia a the Mortis Gods is knowledge that was stored in the Jedi Temple and old folk stories.
Season 2 has definitely NOT been announced.
Who cares really? The amount of crap that Disney pumps out made me reluctant to watch anything with the SW logo. And this is coming from a die-hard fan. I'll stick to the OT, the prequels, R1, and Andor. The rest... is just not worth it.
Baylan Skoll is neither Sith nor Jedi, and that's what makes him the most interesting character in the show. I think it is pretty clear that he is a disillusioned Jedi who THINKS he has to do what he is doing for the ultimate greater good. He is probably incorrect, but hopefully we will find out. Recasting him is incredibly important, I hope they make a smart pick. Like many others, i think Liev Schreiber is probably the best possible choice.
It would be neat if Baylan is built up to be the dark side antithesis of Ashoka
Baylin would have likely learned about the Mortis gods from Admiral Thrawn since He was doing research on them during the events of Rebels, and the memories of those who visited Mortis were erased regarding their visit by the Father
Ideally nobody would be replacing him, but they have to for the story. It's unfortunate that he passed so early into his life, and it's unfortunate that they have to replace him in order to finish telling the story. Rest in peace Ray Stevenson.
Kieran Bew who recently played Hugh Hammer in House of the Dragon would be a good choice to recast. Has a similar stoic look about him, if sightly younger. But with good use of aging makeup. I could totally see it. Ray Stevenson was phenomenal in the role. So its tough shoes to fill.

You’re making it too complicated. It’s more likely this simple: He was there at the temple when it fell and most likely heard one of the clones call Anakin Lord Vader. He became disillusioned after he escaped and forged his own path.

I just can't see him being connected to Vader, he is not bad or "evil" he is doing his own thing and likely has since the Jedi fell, maybe Abeloth has been reaching out to him but no Vader
