    Funny how college stadiums can survive indefinitely but pro stadiums are “obsolete” in 10-20 years.

      That's a good point actually. Maybe if the Volunteers played at Nissan stadium it would last forever. Some of these dusty old college bowls are older than time itself.

    • @EpicSlug
      @EpicSlug 7 месяцев назад +45

      The reason is colleges can't relocate, so have to pay for their own stadiums. In the NFL the billionaire just cries and bullies the city into building a stadium. The smaller the market the better this works. NFL owners also require lots of expensive suites and club seats as those seats are exempt from revenue sharing. The other tickets they have to share 35% revenue with the NFL. This is why NFL stadiums are so expensive they need huge expansive clubs and suites because of the revenue model. Where as Colleges like Michigan make money from large capacity not suites. NFL owners would rather less fans attend but charge much more for premium seating.

    I hate roofs on stadiums for football and mostly baseball. In 50 years we will never see a snow game, or a windy hard-to-kick in game. Its ruining pro sports for me

    • @overchicken286
      @overchicken286 4 месяца назад +2

      Main reason why teams are getting roofs is look at where the superbowls are hosted, all the indoor stadiums and some warm places like Miami and Santa Clara (49ers stadium). Teams are realizing that superbowl gives the team and city a lot of attention. They want to make roofs so they can try and host a big event every 10 years.
      I agree with you though! Roofs are destroying sports. Snow games are the best type of football games out there! I understand some teams needed roofs (like AZ for an example), And I'm ok with some teams having them. But I totally agree that roofs hurt the sports world

    Not that this is a dig at DG, but I'm always wondering, what the fuck do people want in a stadium? Their own personal ball cupper? Unlimited alcohol for free right at their seats? A personal butler with an umbrella every time it rains? It's a stadium meant for 65-80k people who need to get in and out and see a football game. If this is bad, then Lambeau field with their backless bleacher seating, one tier bowl and open to the elements must be complete and utter trash unworthy of pissing on if it were on fire.

    I think one of the driving factors behind replacing Nissan stadium with a dome is all the shows held there. Nashville weather is WILD. Yeah not a lot of thunderstorms/lightning in the fall during football season. But its about 1 to 3 times a year that some show(live music) is delayed/canceled because of bad weather/lightning in the area. Especially during CMA fest in early June. Fans have to huddle in the concourses during this time, can't imagine that being fun. As far as the stadium itself, its great for football, not a bad sightline in the place. Its a great location next to Broadway(walk over the bridge), if you don't want to drive/park downtown, take the Music City Star train. Yeah not the fanciest place but who cares, its not a total dump as portrayed in the video.

    Born and raised in Nashville, and I've always loved the location of Nissan Stadium being walking distance to Broadway. Always loved the look especially at night, seeing the lights of Nashville skyline right behind it. I will say the stadium is basic outdated in NFL terms. The stadium's structural frame was built with concrete, most modern stadiums today uses steel. It's also been stated that the mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems need to be completely replaced. The window system throughout the stadium is so outdated that it is not even manufactured anymore. So I see why it's makes more since to just build a new one instead of keeping this one around, but I'm a little conflicted on this New Nissan Stadium. If you're from Nashville you know the city is constantly building more skyscrapers to upgrade the LOOK of the city so I understand why they want to completely upgrade the entire East Bank

At that time, it was considered adequate; but they refused to do any maintenance. As a result, the stadium rusted out and had become structurally unsound by 1980. The Twins and Vikings demanded a new stadium, which they got (The Metrodome).
      Ever since then, sports teams began whining like spoiled children, demanding "amenities," regardless of whether the stadium was in good condition or not. (A perfect example was the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, which is in excellent condition; but the Rams complained that "it wasn't in the Top 20 stadiums," so they moved back to Los Angeles.) Now we see the Brewers, Diamondbacks and Titans complaining about the need for insane repairs or outright replacement, all of which cost more than the original stadiums themselves.
      The whole thing is a scam, and it would come to a complete stop if the Government passed a law forbidding the use of tax dollars for sports stadiums. Let the super-rich owners pay for their own playpens! "He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want" (Proverbs 22:16, KJV). @@jesusm2159I would prefer the Stars stadium near the new football stadium, but the rumored owners prefer it near TSU. The word is the proposed ownership have a sweetheart land deal & cost concerns will play an important role. The new mayor doesn't think public tax dollars should be spent on stadiums, so the baseball stadium will be privately financed. We'll see what happens when and if the expansion franchise is rewarded.

    2nd generation titans season ticket holder my dad was an original I have taken them over a new stadium is already announced but Nissan Stadium is no where near the worst In the league compared to the 10 others I have been too Nissan Stadium hasn’t had any issues postponing games events nothing but I can agree it’s “boring” but the stadium isn’t rundown or anything like that

    I agree with 90% of this video, but the point he’s trying to make of it being surrounded by parking lots makes it seem like he’s alluding to it being disconnected from the Nashville party area. And that simply can’t be further from the truth. There is a pedestrian only walking bridge that quite literally connects one end of the stadium to Broadway. I would argue that it is the single most connected stadium to its cities central party area. I’m not sure if there’s a Stadium closer to its downtown than Nissan Stadium to be honest. But I guess that takes first hand experience to see. However, every single other point being made in this video is unquestionably correct. It’s time for the Titans to upgrade.

    I saw several games here and I enjoyed the experience each time. I love the Titans and I am glad they're getting a new stadium but it feels like you're making something negative out of nothing and for what? To make a video? This video is silly. I'd watch the Titans play on the moon or in someone's backyard.

    I go to that stadium there is nothing wrong with it, it is a normal football stadium so just shut it I’m not even watching the video,also I don’t know what team u cheer for but if it is like the Texans just shut up and u say it is trash and it is used for many things other than football like concerts like Taylor swift or cma like does nothing and your just strait wrong

  • @stevjoh

    Ginger, have you ever been there? You really don't know what you are talking about. Almost everything you say here is not factual or is just your opinion. Stadium is built along a river, it is not at all surrounded by parking lots. It is walking distance from downtown. And the walk from downtown across the bridge is pretty cool. The stadium experience is as good as anywhere else and I have been to many stadiums. Maybe you should visit a few of these stadiums before you make your uninformed videos.
