  • "The greatest gift that God gave me was allowing me to become the greatest failure I ever knew."
    Immaculata Productions proudly presents 'The CONVERSATION' with Fr. Brendan Kilcoyne and his guest, 'Salesman for God' Jim Browne. Jim speaks about growing up with an alcoholic father, his own journey through alcoholism and conversion through Our Lady.
    "No matter what kind of an Easter egg you get, there's nothing in the middle of it... and that was me."
    "And then it happened... He said 'all those sins are forgiven'. All my psychotherapy, all my thousands, all my new age, all my 'healing the inner child', all the AA meetings.... and all I needed was one word: forgiven."
    "I said 'St. Anthony, I thought you were all about car keys and invoices and the fiver I didn't know where I'd left... now I know what your job is: you found me Jesus' ."
    "It's not the 'gift of the gab' that's important, its the gift to be able to listen... like a priest in Confession. It's the greatest gift of all, the listening priest that can then give absolution."

    I loved this conversation. I grew up in an alcoholic home. I understand that feeling of not being good enough. Why did I get the mad parents? There must be something wrong with me? Only when I understood that I am the daughter of the King of the universe, every hair on my head is counted and I have a mission, known by God before time began, did I start to heal.

    This man describes me very well, I didn't know my wife loved me, I just thought who could love me. When I realised she did I felt seen. I love her so much, thank God for her.

      There is much more then alcoholism that is hard to heal... When one is abused by fear that he is only loved by God if he/she is "good"; that hell awaits him/her who sin because God never forgets and has a record of ALL our wrongdoings... What suffering this causes and how hard it is to heal!!!!

    One of my favourite testimonies / talks of all time. I've sent it to anyone who I think will listen to it. Fantastic interview Fr Brendan. Jim's honesty, authenticity, no nonsense putting the Lord first in every way, and his humour are awe inspiring. Thank you Jim for sharing. Huge inspiration for me

    Thankyou so much Fr Brendan for this fascinating interview and God Bless your priesthood. I heard so much about Jim Browne that I had to go and visit him 2 years ago. It was around that time that I was "enlightened" to what was going on in our world and in our country. I am the only practicing Catholic in my family here in the west of Ireland, with Christ being the centre of my marriage. Jim doesn't have to open his mouth, he exudes holiness. He was there to hug me when I cried because of my worry for my family. I will never forget that moment. I am laughing and crying at this most humble and beautiful man. We are all broken children of God who need His mercy and grace every single day. My home is consecrated to the most Sacred heart of Jesus and our blessed mother, no tv or radio. I pray people realize the beauty and truth of our faith and for the conversion of our country. There is a title on one of the Eucharistic Adoration booklets with the words from Jesus "all I ask is that you love me". I am still on that journey of love. Jesus Himself gave us the tools for this journey: the Sacraments, the Church founded on the "3 legged stool"; Scripture, Tradition and the Magisterium. We have it all folks, all we need to do is open our hearts and hand it all over to Jesus, "follow me" he says, ... He takes care of everything. God Bless

    • @colleenconger5265
      @colleenconger5265 2 месяца назад +2

      He did not give AA any kudos I believe he’s trying to say that it was God and only God that can heal. AA does incorporate God but that wasn’t working for him and this is on a whole different level I think anyway….. AA says to a higher power, which can be anything. Jim ONLY attributes his recovery to God and God alone. With that said, I’m not saying anything against AA. just wouldn’t say that AA worked for him, if it did he is a straightforward guy and he definitely would’ve said so, but he said just the opposite
