    Yet another brilliant video from you on this pedal!
    I was very impressed by plugging it direct and adding a cab simulator on it. Nice one.

    Hi SImon, I want to compliment you because you are one of the few who has good taste in choosing sounds, you manage to make pedals sound better than others (not only in this video, but in many others). I would like to ask you if you found the REVIVAL DRIVE a noisier pedal than others. Best Regards. Eddie.

      Thanks a lot 🙏 I care a lot about getting the right sounds for the part / song I am playing - it makes all the difference to me.
      The way I use the Revival Drive it is not noisy at all. I set up my amps neutral and dial in my tone on the RD. It works great.
      You can get a bit of noise with the voicing switches if you run the pedal into an amp that already has a lot high end dialed in. It is like high end with more high end on top 😊
      RD is basically the amp.
      Cheers Simon

    Haha I was at the beginning and saw the kemper and was going to say plug it into the kemper. It’s great. It can take the highest of gain channels and still keep them clear not mushy. It’s amazing with it.

    You really are wonderful. Great informaton, easily explained. The Revival Drive sounded amazing but WOW, through the Kemper was incredible. Im going to plug mine through my Kemper right now.

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  4 года назад

      Jack Leyton it is funny because when I used the RD through my Kemper I made a profile of my Marshall amp that I used with the RD but with RD turned off. The not very exciting clean Marshall sound but then adding the RD in front of that Kemper profile and the awesome sound was back. 😊 sometimes is is the least exciting Kemper profiles that work best with pedals

    Great playing and amazing tones! I was wondering if you experienced any unusual amount of noise/hiss coming from the Revival Drive? I love mine and wouldn’t trade it for anything but it is kinda noisy, especially when I’m recording. I wonder if I got a bum copy from eBay when I bought it used 🤔

      Thank you Nikolay.
      I have no noise at all from my RD. Only if I crank it with everything on 10 😊 what do you run it into?
      Cheers Simon

    Awesome demo. Is it possible to get a bad sound out of this pedal?! Genuine question. Despite your awesome playing the richness of the tone is quite evident.

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  6 лет назад +1

      Rodger V Thank you Rodger for your kind words. Honestly, the pedal sounds great no matter how you dial it in. You would have to use a really bad amp to get a bad sound. It is so easy to use. Cheers Simon

      If your tube amps are cranked up so that you’ve got ghosting, then you’d have to wind back the Ghost Control on the pedal, other than that I’ve personally not found a bad one . . . Unless, of course, you go crazy with it like any OD 🤪

    I just noticed, u using eq 1 on re amp eq with the marshall amp and direct way, altought the manual said to use eq 2 in conjucntion with marshall style amp and pwramp for direct...and why u got no noise when using brite cap and preamp on gb side??? Im always avoiding using that setting because its to much noise.....can u give some explanation...btw nice tone u got there Simon...

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic

      fedboy21 Thanks man. I use eq 1 because it sounds great :) It works with all my amps for some reason. I do have a little noise when set up like this but nothing compared to the loud volume from the amp. I think the pedal is very quiet actually. Cheers Simon

    What profile do you think would be good for this. I don’t think I have a jmp profile. I have some jtm45 that could use some enhancements. I’ll figure it out.i pick something crunchy and not too high gain.

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  5 лет назад +1

      Joe Robinson I am using an almost clean JMP Profile. Look into MBritt profiles. They are really good. Or see what you can find on the rig exchange and audition them turning down the gain and adding the RD. Cheers

      @joerobinson6199 5 лет назад

      I found one. It’s the Mike Britt Mars69 50 V3T. It’s obviously a high gain profile but the revival handled it beautifully. It just makes it sound better. I’ll check out some other profiles. I’ve just begun to fool with this. Thx again.

    So Simon this will work with a Friedman smallbox clean channel?

    • @SimonGotthelfMusic
      @SimonGotthelfMusic  5 лет назад +1

      Joe Robinson I haven’t tried that combination but I am sure it will. Friedman Amps are great rock amps. RD works with any amp I have used.
      Cheers

      Simon Gotthelf Gear Demos I got it Simon. I pretty much figured it out quickly. I’ve been thru kempers and helix’s etc so I got it down. The smallbox needs no help but it adds lots of nuances to it. It IMO needs crunch behind it. I can’t play loud because we live in an apt. So I’m limited with volume but I don’t play loud anyway. It’s just a fight now between me and myself re the price and should I keep it because I’m not a traveling pro. I travel to my living room. As of now it’s staying. I bought it used from a store so I have 2 more days to decide. I hate to return it. I think I need a bit more time just a bit to fool with it with other amps. I like a lot of gain so I kind’ve have it set up on both sides to sound the same and I probably should set one side up to sound different. Anyway, thx for asking if I like it etc. take care.

    Between this and Lance Keltners demo of this pedal...I'm ready to dump JavaBoost-Guv'Nor pedal-OCD- CamelToe and just get this and my EP-3 Echoplex and EVH Phase 90 through my 78 JMP/71 cab and 79 Deluxe Reverb! Finally some simplicity🤔😂😂
