I purchased a clean title black on black with a stick in FL for $3,500. Guy couldn't sell it because nobody wanted a manual transmission. Lol Drove the car 2 years (not one issue) and sold it for $5,200.
In my area of N.J it woulda sold quick 🤣 I sold my 2006 Acura TSX 6 speed manual with 327k miles on it 12 hours after listing it for sale .. probably helped that it needed absolutely nothing but in my area there's lots of manuals
Never thought i would ever be so interested in watching a man working on such a vehicle as a Nissan Cube, But so far its been fascinating, Looking forward to the final out come, Cheers.
As a former Nissan Tech. Thanks for all the giggles that was painful. Suction cups work great. I have replaced hundreds of CVTs. But barely if any cube CVTs. Good work.
He needs to say how LONG it takes him to do things. Was this a 1 hour job, longer, shorter? It seems like almost no one ever tells how long it takes/took when they do a how to video.
I've thought this so many times LoL the struggle is real when he twists those shorty's right off the head cuz the attempt angle is off juuuust enough lol
"If you can grow that third arm...." You do know there is a tool available that is essentially two suction cups with a length of cable or cord connecting them? One cup applied to one side of the glass, cord over the top of the window frame, and apply the other cup to the other side of the glass. Et voila, third arm!
Doesn't surprise me that there's a tool already out there for it, but I was thinking the same thing from scratch...two Harbor Freight (or wherever) suction cups, and a bungee or rope between them. Or heck, just one, stuck on right above the window sill really should do it.
To help hold the window up, you can use those wood triangle door stops. They will hold a window up, no problem. There is a guy in our shop who only does window regs, all day, and he swears by the door stop to hold the glass up
Love the ordinary car fixes. You know, mst people doesn’t have the possibility’s to buy a big fancy McLaren or some. This is the power of you’re channel...
I stopped watching Tavarish for that reason. I'm sure exotics are great to own and drive, but seeing content with them just bores me. I enjoy the content a lot more when I can relate to it.
If you’ve ever watched Scotty Kilmer, he’d tell you to spray some silicone spray in the window tracks to make things easy for the window motor raising and lowering the window.
Shinetsu is silicone grease. Lasts longer, less mess since you're wiping it on instead of spraying, and conditions the rubber.... one application will last years. Only thing better IMHO is GM convertible top grease (gm #3634770) which is basically a low viscosity version of Dupont Krytox grease that you brush on.
Just thinking of a year ago working in your garage. How nice to have lights, heat, room, space, and a 10mm socket. Congrats on your progress, keep it up.
@@kruleworld Raid is also the worst piece of garbage you could possibly promote. To me it's a reason not to watch the video, and I think I've pretty much seen every JR video of the past months.
I have a 2012 Nissan cube. I’ve had problems with my muffler and pipe. It was loud. Had it fixed and I’m good to go. Now the airbag light is blinking. It doesn’t bother me so blink on. Other than that, my Nissan runs great. I had it now for 5 years. I love it, it’s paid for and I don’t want another car payment. Thanks for the tutorial.
Nice video. I have a 2011 Cube same color as yours. I bought it for my daughter to drive around town although we have no problem taking it on the highway. We love driving it. I had to put a transmission in it after we first got it but, we have had no problems since then. There is 150,000 miles on it and still runs great.
Cool to see how easy it is on those. One thing to mention is that plastic and adhesive is important to make sure it is sealed across the bottom and up the sides. On some cars, like mine, it actually catches rainwater and directs it back into the door. My plastic was ripped, and it took a while to figure out how water was getting into the car. Plastic replaced, issue resolved. Hope this helps others.
It took FOUR months and two rounds of selling to get rid of the one dollar X5, even with $2,000 of parts replaced on it. Let's not go through that again.
JR, I'm really surprised you've forgotten your 3rd arm. Unless you got rid of it, I remember seeing them in your garage a few years back; Harbor Freight Qwik Clamps. All you need is a few thick pieces of foam padding on either side of the wind and on top of the window frame, then clamp it. If you're like myself; my Impreza doesn't have a frame around the windows; I just use 2 at the window seals. Simple & effective. BTW, the window installer should mount your mirror for free; the 3 in my town plus all the wrecking yards reinstall the mirror for free as long as it's good.
JR - put a couple of suction cup hooks on the window and then a bungee cord connecting the 2 hooks together over the top of the door, and your window will stay up with no hands or tape.
Folks have crazy ideas about holding the window up, just use a plastic bar clamp or a grip clamp over the top of the door. Holds the window, no scratches or damage & easy to remove, third hand.....
i use a piece of a cerial box over the top of the window and jam it up in the track it holds the glass up no problem and doesent leave any tape resadue behind
I replaced the window regulator last year in my Crown Vic. It certainly didn't go a smooth as this. But then again, I'm not a professional. The window and motor are both riveted on a Crown Vic, so you have to drill them out. Then the cable was wrapped around everything I couldn't see.
Good job on the window reg. Side note just spray some WD 40 in the track both front and back till it drips out the bottom. That normally makes the guides nice and slick.
My mirror on my 94 chevy truck\ i screwed the rear-view mirror into the metal under the head liner. Not gonna gonna fall off now plus it holds up my headliner.😂
Sweet haircut bro. You and Gabe trying to twinsie it? That Cube is in high demand and so is the Juke. Yet Nissan can't turn a profit? How odd. The Rogue was the most bought car at auction last year

Great haircut. Regarding your sponsorship, just curious, how many people are into joining a 309k member clan? Just kidding. Great video on Nissan Cube!
It would be cool if you could import a RHD Cube, take the rear end and splice it into the LHD rear end to have a symmetrical rear end and then make it so the hatch opens upward instead of sideways. You could make it so that either the glass does wrap around all the way (This would look better) or remove the wrap around glass completely.
Harbor freight has awesome suction cups big and small handle lock type that hold windows up while working on them, or even temporarily hold it while driving if you can't fix it right away.
I made an Oreilly's stop to jerry-rig a brake light switch 18 gauge wire cut in 2 20ish inch lengths dorman switch 85958 switch 85980 would also probably work as well and some quick disconnect terminals stripped the wire crimped the terminals on attached the wires to the switch and fished the wires through the bottom of the steering wheel go and unplug the factory switch and plug wires into the connector. with the wires ran this way they won't get tangled in the pedals and you can grab the switch if it drops when needed hold in your right hand and use it to light up your brake lights for turns stop signs speed drops ETC. once the actual switch came in i did a disconnect and swap. this was on a later year first gen Colorado and having one that's red makes no brake lights more dangerous.

Watching this in Scotland 🏴 and need to replace the window regulator on my wife’s cube. Hopefully it goes as easy as it looks on this video 👍
Did it last night - 40 minutes start to finish after getting the know how from this video 👍
I use 2 or 3 pieces of 3/8 hose bent in half to hold the glass up. I place then between the glass and the top of the door.
Get some long bits for the impact, and I use a wood shim between window and inside door metal to hold the window in place.
JR - put a couple of suction cup hooks on the window and then a bungee cord connecting the 2 hooks together over the top of the door, and your window will stay up with no hands or tape.

I always use blue painters tape. I always finish by spraying silicone spray in the window rubbers .

I did a window regulator recently. Got lazy, didn't test it before putting it back together. It was wired backwards.
Nissan has typically always made one wiring harness for all of their vehicles. Blue tape is the key to other options.

You could use a window plunger the type they use to pick up the windshield to hold it in place
You need to lube the tracks inside the door too that the glass rides in, not just the seals around the frame.
Rainex helps alot with windows going up and down easier too.
Fix the gearbox👍🏼It’s easy peasy. If it works with oil in it.. charge the pump and filter and see if it works🤗

If your turn the car on, 14.4V will make the window go up and down a lot faster. It gets exponentially slower every volt it drops
