    I love your build!! You have fit so much in there!! And a good size fridge and a microwave. So smart!! Would you talk to me about your electrical? I am a single mom trying to build a rig for my daughter and I to travel in. I have no idea about electrical but I’ve got three 100 watt panels and hope to buy two more. I want to put them in an H configuration with two maxx air fans in the two open spaces. I really have no idea what I’m doing and would love to know how your solar handles the microwave more numbers on that.
    Anyways your box truck is amazing!! You did a great job!!

      OffAirhead, thanks first for watching. Solar was probably the least I knew about when tackling this build. I watched Will Prowse videos and even bought his book. Very informative. My solar panels (8x100W) are on two different charge controllers. I set up my first four just like Will demonstrates, with one 200aH battery and realized it wasn't enough for my fridge. So I bought another 4 and another battery and solar charge controller. The limiting thing in any system is the inverter. Mine is 2000W and if I start too many things at once it shuts down. Check out my other videos and definitely check out Will's. Thanks again for watching.

      Fit4Expedition Fun Seekers, welcome to my channel and thanks for watching. One of the requirements for me were the barn doors. I have a mosquito net for it that I need to install. I do TRX, dumbbell and kettlebell training with mine. I found TRX is probably the easiest since I have a ring hook on the back. I installed my DC to DC Alternator Charger while I was at a BLM spot in Alabama. Yes, it's tough to do! LOL
      The shower pan is overall 42"x28". The shower area is 22"x20". It's made for my Thetford cassette toilet.

    Good video. Subscribed. You're just getting started, but I like your style. I subscribed to Nomadic Fanatic when he had only 15,000 subscribers and he climbed to about 300,000 eventually. Nice setup. I like the box truck platform for the rectilinear inside. I wonder, do you have to pull into weigh stations, or does the van front preclude that. That aspect has been on my mind, should I decide to go nomad (van vs. stepvan vs. box truck). I'd like to avoid the whole weigh station issue if possible.

      @@BoxTruckVagabond I recently looked at this online. There are a few states, like Montana I think, that require all vehicles over 10,000 pounds to stop at weigh stations. It's probably a good idea to have a print out of the current list of states' requirements. Similarly, consult online (USCCA or other source) for each state, when you are about to cross a border, to confirm what your requirements are regarding CCW and guns. You do carry protection, right?

      2003, we converted a 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck to our concept of an ExpeditionVehicle.
      Our interior is 7w x 12 l x 7h, about 600cf.
      Registered as a RecreateVehicle, weigh-station and PoE stations post 'No RecreateVehicles' at the off-ramp.
      .
      Think about it from the bureaucrat view:
      The bureaucrat singular focus is benefits and retirement.
      Anything interfering with that is wasting their underpaid overworked time...

      re -- 'maybe my next build'
      Agreed.
      We grow and evolve, our vehicle needs develop.
      I suggest avoiding believing 'this rig is my forever rig'.
      .
      We suggest tossing in some car-camping gear, go have fun.
      Allow the conversion to evolve organically.
      .
      We see first-time builders attempting to duplicate a stand-still house inside a vehicle.
      Instead, see it as a blank-slate, with the ability to be anything you imagine.
      .
      Avoid building a conversion for months/years, then try to force the adventure to fit the rig.
      Instead, allow the adventure to flow the conversion.
      .
      This comes from a half-century of full-time live-aboard in a wide variety of rigs:
      * two semi-trailers, a 30' and a 40'
      * a semi-tractor converted to RecreateVehicle
      * vans

      In our ExpeditionVehicle, we carry water in stainless-steel five-gallon retired Pepsi kegs.
      Our standard in the rack I fabricated -- seven kegs, thirty-five gallons.
      Advantages:
      * modular -- add/subtract any at anytime
      * separable -- a couple-three go to town for re-fill while the rest stay in camp
      * mobile -- one goes to the picnic-table or campfire
      * isolation -- if one gets stanky, the others remain in-service... and can be used to clean the problem-child
      * loanable -- one can go to a caravan chum.
      .
      Used in restaurants for decades, these are engineered to be pressurized.
      We hook a 12vdc air-pump for bicycle tires, a quick puff, and a keg is ready to go.
      A kitchen sink sprayer on the outlet, and water flows.
      .
      For showers, we use a dedicated three-gallon 'Torpedo' keg, a miniature version of the Pepsi kegs.
      For hot water, we use a 'sous vide' circulation heater designed for cooking.
      .
      A brainiac caravan chum calculated the photovoltaic to re-fill our bank for a shower:
      * about fifteen minutes mid-day sun.
      .
      Nearly two decades full-time live-aboard.
      Twenty-four months twenty-four thousand miles around South America.
      Alaska, Panama, all over North and Central America.
      Summers up rough logger tracks to remote mountain lakes.
      Winters on isolated Baja beaches.
      This works for us.

    • @BoxTruckVagabond
      @BoxTruckVagabond  2 года назад +1

      I saw a conversion where he pressurized tanks like that and didn't need a pump. It was genius. Good idea!
