I was digging the thoughtfulness and ingenuity of the work he has done UNTIL - OMG - the dish drainer idea blew me away. He is absolutely brilliant. Standing ovation from over here.
Your toilet solution is pure genius. Congrats on that. And of course, the rest of your build is clever and livable too (and the magnetic flyscreen in it's little cubby by the door is a wonderful idea). The other thing I really enjoyed is the way you mostly said "We" and not I all the time. It annoys me when guys say "I" all the time as if their partner was just introduced to the finished product and had no input at all. All in all, this is a very practical and livable mobile home. One of the best I've seen in fact.
This guy is a genius !! his wife is a lucky woman (I'm sure she's great and he's lucky to have her ) but what wife wouldn't want to camp in this !! takes stealth glamping to next the next level : )
This is such an incredible, well thought out home. Instead of cat litter, consider using pine pellets designed to be used as horse bedding. A 40-pound bag at Tractor Supply Company is $8.00, much cheaper than cat litter. The pine pellets absorb the moisture from feces, making it a dried solid and urine causes the pellets to break down into sawdust and absorb the fluid. No dust, no smell. I use it for my cats and every few days, just dump the entire litter pan in the garbage and start fresh. There's no need to scoop daily.
Excellent tour of Harvey the RV! Hi, I'm Susan --- I traveled with Eric in Harvey for a total of nine months, and it was a wonderful trip in so many ways. Even though I lived in Harvey all that time, I'm still amazed, watching this video, at the ingenuity shown by Eric in creating so many clever solutions for every aspect of this 'home away from home' -- his attention to every detail made it so comfortable, convenient and safe for us on the road, in every climate and location we encountered. His "piece de resistance," the swing on the 'veranda' outside of the French doors, where we spent almost every evening, was a wonderful end to the day, especially when we could have bluetooth music and a fire in our little fireplace with our dinners out there -- as well as many lunches by lakes, and some lovely breakfasts in the mornings (French toast, anyone?) with scenic sunrises. - There are many helpful websites and apps for RV travelers, but we especially enjoyed our stays with "Harvest Hosts" in various vineyards, wineries, and private estates that welcome RVs (with reservations online) for an overnight stay (with the expectation of a modest purchase at the commercial ones; we took a bottle of wine for our private stays, and sometimes enjoyed the fireside company of others who had also traveled). BLM lands offer free overnight stays, all over the country, and keeping a list and map of those is very helpful. I'd also suggest taking along and using a current copy of the Rand McNally Road Atlas (or another one) as well as depending on your mobile phone's GPS -- the latter is very handy when looking for particular addresses, but an atlas gives you the "big picture" while traveling, and often includes detailed areas of larger cities. -- Happy Trails to everyone!
I've always admired mechanically-minded people who see what they want, imagine a plan, grab some tools, and then go about hammering reality into a shape that fits their needs. The type of mind that could engineer complicated cabinetry, wire up cameras and electrical systems, and then dream up something as simple as zip-ties to ease an unpleasant situation. Your 98 year-old dad must be so proud of you!
You remind me so much of my father, a Canadian grown chemical engineer with an amazing mind! He would have loved your stealth home!! It, and you sir, are AWESOME!
Your RV designer, Eric, set out today in "Harvey" on a solo trip to the SF Bay area and beyond, so we are wishing him Happy Trails and an enjoyable visit with friends along the way. He'll be in touch from the road, on his brand-new modem gear. Missing you already! ❤
Awesome ! Better than any expensive RV. Everything made exactly they wanted and needed with real home feel. They can park everywhere they want and nobody would think there is anyone living inside. The truck looks like hard working old truck so nobody cares. I’m going to build something very similar. Absolutely love it ! Stay safe and healthy guys. Keep traveling and make more videos with your rig.
You have so many genius ideas that I want to steal for my eventual build. I have to say, you have the best idea for the toilet ever. The external storage bag slot is so cool. No black water and no festering dookie in the cab. So smart!
You sir are a genius. you've seemed to have thought of everything to make things work together such as the drawers that slide sideways when your work is pulled down. Very nice construction!
Love the shower water disinfection > re-circulator > hot water heater!. Never ending water on wheels? Wow. I happily hard agree about your toileting setup. Well done. Outstanding thought and execution. Congratulations to you both!
Stunning piece of simplicity, but very usable. Love the open space a lot. If I would go on such journey, it would be like this. Love the truck very much for the amount of space you can have. This is the darnest and amazing thing I've seen. Well done, sir!! And safe travels!
Even with the propane tank hanging in the back, it looks like a commercial vehicle This is a fantastic job, sir I can’t believe the ingenuity that went into creating this
This has to be the most thoughtful and genius use of space I've seen. Absolutely hands down the best truck conversion I've seen and I've seen hundreds!!! Beautiful man with a beautiful soul, wish you all the very best for your future, and future travels. With love from Australia 🇦🇺
So many great things about this! The wardrobe style cabinet with vertical shoe storage, Brilliant! The whole Rig is Brilliant! Never let anyone say "There's no such things as stealth". ❤️ it!
FRICKIN' GENIUS!!!! I've watched Huuundreds of these type vids and Harvey is BY FAR my absolute FAVORITE!! It's the INGENUITY for me! All others pale in comparison! FANTASTICAL!!!
I want to thank you too, and say I agree whole-heartedly with you ~ I've also watched many other truck conversion videos, and although I admire the efforts put into them, there were none others that I would rather have traveled in as much as I did in this well-designed 'work of genius' with Eric. Happy travels to you ~ 😊
~~Amazing~~ That truck is amazing and that man giving the tour is so smart to figure out all those things he showed us...simply amazing and I want a truck just like it so I can trail and visit family and have to worry where I'll sleep or inconveniencing anyone...you could park anywhere and knowone would know your inside...Genius!!! 🙂👍❤️
It was very convenient to have our own accommodations wherever we went, visiting friends and relatives; even when they had plenty of room to house guests, we were actually more comfortable staying in Harvey overnight. We've had other guests with their own RVs, who did the same, and it really provides more privacy for all.
What an absolutely amazing build. This man has thought of everything!!!! Even the fact that they can have a long decent shower or as he says "we can shower for as long as we like". Congratulations to this man on such an amazing absolutely brilliant beautiful home away from home. He truly has thought of everything, water, electricity, a place to put his/theirs soda can etc even down to security 🎉😊 He has a brilliant mind, very clever man and a very clever build again congratulations 👏👏👏👏 Thankyou for showing us your "tiny home" Lisa UK xxxx
Every time I watch these videos of pure ingenuity I wonder why the big RV companies find it so fucking hard to make RV’s that are functional and that doesn’t cost the price of a freaking home. Last time I saw one that cost 196.000$, I mean seriously!!! They should hire the van life people on RUclips designing and building they own campers I’m sure they’d make a killing in the long term.
Dr. Duze you have built a very functional box truck home, with all your wants & needs. So many people build cookie cutter layouts. Everyone should learn well from your built needs, will encourage others to create & build their wanted needs. Safe Travels On Your Next Journey Experience. always, Tommy🤠
When he pulled out that porch swing at the end of al those creative marvels, I was just blown away! Ha ha ha! Genius. I want a husband like that. Too bad he is taken. Really smart build in every sense, and not a pricey one either. It takes spatial genius to build this. Oodles of cabinet space and such nice cabs too. The living room looks like a house. Clever bathroom. Do not buy any pricey composting toilet, you did right by building your own. The plastic bag for #2 is the right way to do it, not a smelly pail of week old #2. This is clean and neat. Jug for #1. Perfect. Love that patio, awning, table, and of course the patio swing! What a fun tour this was. Keep on building, you are in your element.
Holy moly I love your study! I work 100% remote and I’d like an area I can store all my work supplies- maybe even lock them up. That would be fantastic! Actually the whole thing is well thought out. Good job!👍
These types of conversions are the most amazing. Best for stealth. It blows my mind an entire functional lifestyle can be had without anyone knowing unless you let them know. I kuck myself for not driving anymore
Forgot to say: couple of my favorite things are: your USA Map, and the awesome back porch! I love the tailgate lift, awning, porch swing and retractable steps! 😊 Thanks again!
I like the idea of recycling the shower water as it’ll greatly reduce water consumption but while the rest of your build works for you it doesn’t do it for me. Having said that, the more I watch of these build videos the more I’m able to narrow down what is a good fit for me. So, thank you for sharing!
Thanks for your thoughts. You are doing just what I did, watching videos and pulling out the ideas that I wanted to incorporate. I wish I had kept track of all the hints and ideas I collected (like the couch/murphy bed) so I could have given credit where it was due. Good luck with your project!
Box trucks are rad for conversions. I went down the rabbit hole and made mine. A HUGE bonus is they're square so making walls/etc is pretty easy even for a rookie like me.
Very nice! A few things to consider if you haven't already, lock down your batteries, hood and fuel cap...this is Merica we're talking about for goodness sake.
Your Billy Brauer paintings behind the Murphy bed jumped out at me. I live in Vermont and for years painted with Billy. He taught me to paint. He passed just before the pandemic and everyone who knew him misses him greatly. I was so surprised to see his paintings in your truck. 😮
Duze. You just ruined me. I was all in a 2003 Isuzu. Now I'm all over the map. Well done leaving the scars on the box. I want that shirt. I've been junking out all day. I'm 50, and looking for a build.. Yours is so awesome!!!
Hi, I’m a friend of your cousin Sally. I saw this video on her FB page. I was only going to watch it for a minute but I ended up watching the whole video. I’m so impressed with your box truck home. It’s very cool.
This is pretty close to my dream RV as it has a porch, a swing, and an everlasting hot shower as well as so many other well thought out things like no black tank and dish drying storage. I want this RV so much.
This is the first time I heard about mattresses getting moldy in campers. Didn't realize that was an issue. If that is the case, incredibly great idea with the pegboard to allow extra air flow. Thank you for sharing!
Just awesome sir. I love everything about it! Thank you so much for sharing! You are very gifted and talented. The fit and finish of your cabinetry is perfect. How long did it take for you to build it all? If the price is right, would you sell it to me? I will make you an offer you can’t refuse.😊😂. I’m retired Army, retired long-haul trucker been everywhere in USA, retired construction. Money is not an issue; just might not have the time. 66 years young, but have 8 grown kids and 19+grandkids. Would be hard to find the time to build that beautiful camper. Thanks again!
I am glad you enjoyed the video. It took two years to build after I retired. I am still enjoying it, but if I get to the point where I want to sell, I will be glad to let you know.
Beverly: I never for one moment took any credit for building Harvey -- it's all Eric's work and he most certainly has a right to be proud of it (although by nature he's a humble guy).
This is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! You have thought of EVERYTHING!!! Great use of all the space, I truly enjoyed this video.. Thank you for sharing!!! Love love the light from the doors & the swing also!!! 👍🤎🤎😎
Fabulous! I suggest you keep your security items further in, away from the door - so if someone should gain entrance, you are not cut off from the security items you need. But otherwise, great video on a really neat job!
This is the absolute best RV that I have ever seen. The design is remarkable. The craftsmanship is great. The safety, and good use of space is excellent! Congratulations!
The only stealth build I have seen with side windows used a large vent/grate to conceal the window until he was parked somewhere that did not require stealth. I thought about it, but the interior was actually quite light and we spent most of our time on the back deck until it was time to eat and sleep. I could not think of a reason why a box truck would have a large grate/vent on the side. The lack of side windows had its plusses as it made the truck quieter and darker at night. @@nicktw8688
Absolutely remarkable! Initially I thought, ‘What, no windows?’ OMGosh! Blew me away with the French doors to start! Once inside, the gems kept coming! Did not even feel dark nor claustrophobic! I appreciated all the little details! Talk about cabin like feel! The final segment reminded me of a romantic couple, sitting outside in a swing, country setting fireside, enjoying life! Just warmed my heart!❤️😊 Have you experienced any injury with a chair falling off the patio? I heard you mention one needs to be careful. I’m always considering safety first. Overall, phenomenal rig!
Thank you for your nice comments. You're right, there's no need for windows when we have the French doors, the front pass-through to the cab, and the skylight; we kept the stealth aspect that way, too. - ( And yes, we are a romantic couple ~ we enjoy life and each other to the fullest!)
I am very impressed with what you have created. You have incorporated some of my must haves for full time living. The deck, study , fold away bed , recirculating shower and more. I so wish I had your skills.
Eric, this is actually a very awesome RV you made. You designed everything perfectly to make it very comfortable. I’m not sure about the bag toilet with just a curtain for privacy. I tend to poop very quietly and it smells like fresh flowers in the spring, but my wife makes terrible noises when going #2 and it smells like something died up inside her butt which would leave the RV smelling pretty bad. Something a little embarrassing if you have guests. I’d want a wall with a door on the bathroom, but I realize the space limits what you can do. I do like the idea of the recirculating shower. I’ve heard of people doing this, especially if you’re boondocking a lot. The Murphy bed is perfect and the desk is a great idea. Having the patio and the patio doors is a nice touch and, the swing is a great idea that is rare on an RV. Great and detailed tour. I enjoyed it. Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words. The main reason for not having a solid wall bathroom was to expand the size of the kitchen by making the floor all at the same level. This lets two people easily navigate around each other. I do wonder what you eat to get the flowers in spring result!
As I mentioned elsewhere, we do take advantage of public toilets (rest stops, stores, gas stations, truck stops, venues, etc.) so we try to keep the bag use to a minimum; but otherwise, fresh air when possible and some good bathroom spray do the trick.
I was digging the thoughtfulness and ingenuity of the work he has done UNTIL - OMG - the dish drainer idea blew me away. He is absolutely brilliant. Standing ovation from over here.
Thank you, I saw a dish strainer like that in a European kitchen and had to add it to the Cabinetry
Thanks!
Your toilet solution is pure genius. Congrats on that. And of course, the rest of your build is clever and livable too (and the magnetic flyscreen in it's little cubby by the door is a wonderful idea). Thanks for the kind words. I am so glad you liked the screen set-up, it was one of the first little touches that I really enjoyed making.
I forgot to say what is obvious...the man is an engineering genius!
Exactly what I was thinking!
That pegboard under the bed is a genius idea!
This guy is a genius !! his wife is a lucky woman (I'm sure she's great and he's lucky to have her ) but what wife wouldn't want to camp in this !! takes stealth glamping to next the next level : )
This dish rack hack is genuis..I need that in my house.
I was thinking the same thing. When I saw that I thought “this is how all kitchens should be!”
This is such an incredible, well thought out home.

I enjoyed the process of learning about so many different types of systems. It was a lot of trial and retrial and occasionally try again. 😁
(And his dad was very proud of him)
Now this is the most stealth RV I've seen on the internet so far....100% true stealth. Kudos Dave.
You remind me so much of my father, a Canadian grown chemical engineer with an amazing mind! He would have loved your stealth home!! It, and you sir, are AWESOME!

Wow. I'm only half way through but this is easily the best and most thought out plan I've seen. His attention to every detail is amazing. Great build!

Would be hard to find the time to build that beautiful camper. Thanks again!
I am glad you enjoyed the video. It took two years to build after I retired. I am still enjoying it, but if I get to the point where I want to sell, I will be glad to let you know.
@@DrDuze-se5cx Thanks! 😊👍
Love Harvey's porch! Swing, tsble, fire, wow!
Wow!!! Harvey is well thought out!
Brilliant!! This is what I finally decided on for the best of all camper set ups if I ever did one.
This is his Dream...He had a fantastic time building this. This was his project not his wife's. He has a right to be so proud. Job well done
😊
Wow, you really thought all everything. I love your build. Great job.❤
What a very clever man thought about everything and a very spacious home xx
You did a fantastic job with Harvey. You are one smart man.
This is the absolute best RV that I have ever seen. The design is remarkable. The craftsmanship is great. The safety, and good use of space is excellent! Congratulations!
Thanks so much for the kind thoughts.
Needs stealth side windows that can be opened. I'd want more natural light. But great stealth!
Amazing build, and so much thought in the set-up and construction! The porch swing makes Harvey "home"! Thanks for sharing.
It's very basic, but most of his ideas I really like about it. the bug netting, the dish draining cabinet, even the Murphy bed. great conversation.
Bro rolls up door, has Nantucket French door entry! 😂😂😂
It often surprises folks.
I think this truck has more intricate systems than my house. The entire patio set up is brilliant.
Pretty good build. Got what you needed and looks to have worked out well. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! Best camper van I've seen. Looks just like a house. You did a great job on your home.
🎉🏡🎉
Thanks for sharing and many blessings. ❤
Just warmed my heart!❤️😊
Have you experienced any injury with a chair falling off the patio? I heard you mention one needs to be careful. I’m always considering safety first. Overall, phenomenal rig!
Thank you for your nice comments. You're right, there's no need for windows when we have the French doors, the front pass-through to the cab, and the skylight; we kept the stealth aspect that way, too. - ( And yes, we are a romantic couple ~ we enjoy life and each other to the fullest!)
And yes, we are careful on the patio and haven't had any mishaps.
This is exactly what stealth should look like, thank you for this great build.
Of all the builds I've seen over the years, THIS IS THE BEST!💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
Thanks Susan that is very kind of you to say.
Sweet set up,love the sink set up,the swinging chair in the back, well done
Genius build, congratulations to you both for building an amazing, comfortable and warm home. Just lovely!
Amazing ingenuity. So well thought out. The designs are simple, efficient, and cost effective, with no comfort compromised.
Eric is very clever. Such wonderful ideas.
Thanks Kristina.
Fantastic, every inch is wonderfully thought out, a master piece.
I am very impressed with what you have created. You have incorporated some of my must haves for full time living. The deck, study , fold away bed , recirculating shower and more. I so wish I had your skills.
Thanks for the kind words. It was mostly learn as i went.
