I would also use it to carry up a motorcycle ti the van, so the tinted glass should have to durable for a little flexing because of the weight of the motorcacle. Also it would have 2 parts, in the midle the motorcycle rail, and on the 2 sides, the tinted glass? What do you tink, how is it managable?
That's what I do for my box truck. I have video of a dozen police each trying to find me by looking into my cab. None could figure it out. They didn't even see the camera I was watching them with lol.
One of the nicest vans I've ever seen. Especially like that it's stealth and the desk + kitchen combination. Plus everything looks super neat. This is pretty much what I would want as well.
This is really a great idea that should become more common. A huge benefit vs. something like a camper, is you can just park in any business/industrial area and not be bothered at all. Whereas if you're in a camper, police or residents never want to let you park anywhere but a Walmart parking lot. It's really a pretty decent size space for one person.
That’s an ace truck the layout is just about perfect for me. The only things I’d do differently would be a fly screen on the side vent covering the window (if it doesn’t have one already) and have the side access door locked from the inside and remove the hasp on the outside, but leave the bar, latch and padlock so it looks locked from the outside but isn’t. That would give me an emergency exit should I need it. I’d also make the side vent lockable from the inside, but look like it’s still locked outside. Maybe the addition of an exterior camera to see who or what is outside without having to open a window or door.
I would also add a window above the kitchen sink and have it be set up just like the other one (A/C vent stealth approach). That way you have 1 window on either side of the vehicle.
Really enjoyed the Zombie mowing Milk frothing ability! Ingenious fix on the rollup door and the Bahama shutter fridge vent that’s basically a game changer for stealth window
This just a good idea for young comedians, actors, musicians, tech people or anyone where income varies and they don;t want to get a second job to chase ambitious dreams in entertainment industry.
Ryder or U-haul used to call those trucks with the over-cab space and the little door something like "mother-in-law" cab. They were great for cross country moves. They rented them as a fifteen foot truck, as the size of the back was fifteen. I moved 32 times in twenty years and always got this truck for cross country moves. Put the futon mattress above the cab, and slept at truck stops. Put pallets down for a barrier to keep boxes from sliding forward and then you always have room for suitcase, cat beds, litter boxes and climbing up to the bed. Such a fantastic build. They drive pretty well as long as you don't let a boy pack the truck wrong and it bounces like you're on a carnival ride and you think that you are going to puke until you pull over and repack the whole thing yourself from the floor to ceiling in the Red Robin parking lot in the middle of a hot 🔥 summer day. Not that I would know, though.
really cool truck. I personally would have a door to access the "Gear-age" (LOL) from the inside. That way you could mess with your bike during a rainstorm....AND have "new couch access" if you ever needed to bring bigger things into the living area. Plus you could go from your kitchen to your deck easier.
This might be one of the best conversions I've seen. I love how stealthy it is. Fantastic layout out. I also love the gearage. People forget how many utilitarian items they need to store. Thanks for telling us about the emergency escape hatch in the floor. I was concerned about that potential issue.
I was talking to my son about the stealth truck and he suggested because Jason used it a lot in the city he could have good taggers paint the outside of the truck. It would be more camouflaged in the urban area.
This is by far so cleverly build. The single door is nice, easy access in split seconds without anyone see. The interior not clutter at all easy to maneuver and clean. The mock aircon vent aka window is super stealth when closed. Love this.
I love your stealth studio, such a cool, comfortable, and cozy home on wheels! Brilliantly designed, you used every cubic foot wisely. Mission accomplished, congrats on such a massive project!
Beautiful Van! I am retiring in two and a half years and looking for ideas on a build. I'm actually going to Edmonton Friday to look at a couple of cube vans. I love the way you set that up but I need to point out one thing. You need to build some type of emergency egress. Maybe a rooftop hatch to get out in an emergency. Just think what would happen if you had a fire in the cab, and no way out. Take care!
The kingdom of heaven is at hand. The kingdom of heaven can be compared to leaven in which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal until it was all leavened.
Great tour! Really unique creative design, can't find this type of content anywhere else. Please keep the on of a kind builds coming. Thanks for all that you do!
No emergency exits, he could become trapped if a fire starts in the cab area..i'd reconfigure the locks on that small rear access hatch/door to be easily openable from the inside in case of emergency. Sweet rig though otherwise.
you guys said there is one on the side, but maybe one more on the roof (like those public transport bus) as a backup, there is a saying-two is one, one is none
@@daveisham7306 Actually, you can see when he walks around that there is already one in place, his! (12:27)...I hope the previous comment about a floor escape hatch is true - otherwise it would be smarter to redo that side door - Leave the lock on the outside, but make it cosmetic only and put a better lock on the inside to make up for it. That way on the outside it looks like it is locked and can't be mucked about with, but the real hardware is inside so he can skedaddle in hurry in case of emergency.
Very cool layout inside. Love the long countertop and rock climbing wall. We went with a box truck for all the space too. Just can't wait to start the build but we have the concept down. Thanks for showing this. He did an incredible job 👏
This is one of the best van builds (box truck) that I have probably seen yet!!! I would really like to see Jason break down the costs of the van and the build itself.
I always thought that those stealth vehicles should mount small TV video cameras on the outside then mount big flat screen TV's to use as windows. Full privacy and the cameras are really small now. I have a 9" monitor in the bedroom of my Class A coach, I added last year, so I can see who is at my door or the back of my coach to check on my motorcycle without getting out of bed. Actually there are 10 cameras around my coach that I can use to see all around my coach. Even put one on my remote control spot light that's on the roof so I can check low clearances and see if my tv/ satellite dish is down and stowed before I drive off. I like this build! But crawling through the cab would get old quickly for me.
I did something similar a few years ago with a box truck. The only problem I had was people trying to break in in the middle of the night because they thought I might have tools inside. Happened probably six times in six months. Once they even tried stealing the whole truck. Scary thing at 3 am.
That is always a concern I would have if I went this route, so maybe magnetic signs you can remove that say "oscar's junk removal" would lessen someone wanting to break in.
I was thinking about that, what if you’re sleeping in back and someone breaks in the front and tries to drive away?? Car theft in Chicago is off the charts but I don’t know if they typically steal this sort of thing. Need some sort of magnetic sign like asbestos removal or like someone said junk truck. I guess asbestos removal would still imply tools.
Amazing. The vans, though cool, seem like they would always be a struggle to use full time due to size constraints, but this or step vans seem like a good compromise and provide (close to) normal studio apartment living.
Quick question please- after living in this amazing box truck for 2+ years- is there anything that you've found could be an improvement to your original design? Anything you'd change knowing what you know now? More solar power, etc? Yours is my fav stealth vid by far- Thank You!!
Best van tour you have done to date. Relaxed allowing the owner to go through the build without rushing them through it. Throughly enjoyed this video. Great job!!
Just slightly unrealistic financially speaking and NOT believable. You got lots of people praising you but they have no common sense, logic & are math 2+2=4 challenged. Yes I will spend thousands & spend all of my free time building so that I can save money on rent as it is sooooooo expensive for a GRAD STUDENT. Makes total sense guys. Great commercial for AMAZON though who probably paid you to do this vid. LMAO
Bad ass, stealth home on wheels!!! That thing is awesome!! There's lots of places he could park at for a week or more and no one would even look twice and wonder if there's anyone inside. I would find a way to ad at least 4 surveillance mini cameras with wide angle lenses and even night vision, one at the front, one at rear, and one on each side of the truck. All connected to a digital recording unit, AND to the flatscreen tv, so if there's any weirds noises outside and around the truck, there's no need to step outside, as everything can be seen on the tv screen, and should anything bad happen, there's footage to be used as evidence. Great mobile home, indeed!!
Very cool! A good alternative as Class B Van's are hard to come by. Just need to decide you are not going off non-maintained roads. Something to think about as Box Trucks are not in high demand! Hmmmm?
This is one of my favorite builds to watch on RUclips and I've come back to this video a bunch of times to get re-inspired. It really makes me want to get a box truck and try for a DIY build, which I really feel I want to do in the next few years. I have some ideas written down too. Rent is absurd. I just want to know where this guy parks his box truck in cities and where he's able to safely sleep overnight so he's not accosted by cops or security.
This is great. I always thought if I were to do a box truck, I'd want to get in the back from the cab just like this. No need to go outside during rain or snow. I like the back was changed from roll up to the drop-down deck. Great use of space.
It’s a box van. There’s a hug difference 1. It’s a cutaway van that depends on the box to stabilize the van body. Box truck body is stable without the box. And would be Independant of the box
Okay, BS. I had a stealth box truck for about three years. I could not keep up with the graffiti "artists". The white walls are just too big a temptation. Didn't seem to matter WHERE I parked it.
G-E-N-I-U-S!!! 💡 The interior is so efficiently designed that it seems big. May your friend's fone ring off the hook for customers wanting him to build theirs!
Maybe in the future I will do a box truck or ambulance. I would love to have the space of a box truck, but not so sure about the mpg and parking. In my van I can still use a drive thru and park in most parking spots.

My word “weird” was definitely taken out of context 😂 but oh well. It’s fun, interesting, different. I like all those things
@@JarrodTocci Hy, how wide tall and and long is this van? i want to build one that its 400cm tall 255cm wide and 600-620cm long from an iveco daily 3500kg in Europe? What do you think? Thanks in advance!
@@JarrodTocci My other question is,: Is there a wy to make the back padio deck from darkedned glass, which, when it is closed uo, itS fikcions as a windoes, but when itS down it's durable for people and some studd to be able stand on it.
@@k.o.t.o.n. No
One of the nicest vans I've ever seen. Especially like that it's stealth and the desk + kitchen combination. Plus everything looks super neat. This is pretty much what I would want as well.
I need this with unlimited 5G and you will never see me again. It's a dream truck. So jealous!
This is almost exactly what I've been planning
Love that Jason gives all the credit to his friend Matt. Lots of hard work in the build. Great design ideas.
we all want to meet this Matt.
@@TheCharlesLuu I'd like to see his girlfriend.
That is a cool build... Love the space in there. The bed is really cleverly placed.
I am now obsessed with doing this and spend my time researching how to make it possible. Thank you for being an inspiration!
Same. Did you end up doing it?
That’s an ace truck the layout is just about perfect for me. The only things I’d do differently would be a fly screen on the side vent covering the window (if it doesn’t have one already) and have the side access door locked from the inside and remove the hasp on the outside, but leave the bar, latch and padlock so it looks locked from the outside but isn’t. That would give me an emergency exit should I need it. I’d also make the side vent lockable from the inside, but look like it’s still locked outside. Maybe the addition of an exterior camera to see who or what is outside without having to open a window or door.
I like your hacks there.
Great idea!
I must ask where that photo is from. It looks familiar.
I would also add a window above the kitchen sink and have it be set up just like the other one (A/C vent stealth approach). That way you have 1 window on either side of the vehicle.
@@matt0198922
Good idea. It would give a cooling cross breeze on hot days also.
This one is super clean, modern and spacious. I love that little workspace area and that futuristic chair. The air conditioner vent is genius.
THIS is EXACTLY what I want! If he ever decides to sell it, I wanna know!
It's called mom's attic.
really cool truck. I personally would have a door to access the "Gear-age" (LOL) from the inside. That way you could mess with your bike during a rainstorm....AND have "new couch access" if you ever needed to bring bigger things into the living area.
Plus you could go from your kitchen to your deck easier.
not to mention have another possible exit if the van goes into the drink
@@cletusbeauregard1972 Yes. And also anti-meteorite umbrella.
@@serhiyranush4420 Those are so important. Relying on hats is such a headache
@@oceanecastelnau9821 Indeed. Literally.
Yes I was thinking to take your bicycle out would ruin the illusion of this being a work van.
This might be one of the best conversions I've seen. I love how stealthy it is. Fantastic layout out. I also love the gearage. People forget how many utilitarian items they need to store. Thanks for telling us about the emergency escape hatch in the floor. I was concerned about that potential issue.
Best stealth motorhome I've seen. Brilliant
I was talking to my son about the stealth truck and he suggested because Jason used it a lot in the city he could have good taggers paint the outside of the truck. It would be more camouflaged in the urban area.
Depending on where he parks, he might get tagged for free anyway!
This is by far so cleverly build. The single door is nice, easy access in split seconds without anyone see. The interior not clutter at all easy to maneuver and clean. The mock aircon vent aka window is super stealth when closed. Love this.
This is by far so cleverly build.
what
That’s incredible, you’d just walk past without a second thought. 👍 from Wales U.K.
Take care!
This is a terrific design. Jarrod, you need to get a cup of coffee from each person that you promote. Kudos to the pre java tour guides!
I love how creative people can get.
No emergency exits, he could become trapped if a fire starts in the cab area..i'd reconfigure the locks on that small rear access hatch/door to be easily openable from the inside in case of emergency. Sweet rig though otherwise.
There is an escape hatch in the floor, he forgot to mention that.
he said you can open the side door from the inside
@@kyoakland not if someone slaps a padlock on from the outside.
you guys said there is one on the side, but maybe one more on the roof (like those public transport bus) as a backup, there is a saying-two is one, one is none
This absolutely needs to be covered in bad graffiti to complete the look!
Very cool layout inside. Love the long countertop and rock climbing wall. We went with a box truck for all the space too. Just can't wait to start the build but we have the concept down.
Thanks for showing this. He did an incredible job 👏
A nice spit cup in the front console would complete the stealth look .
I've seen hundreds of stealth RVs this is definitely in my top five
How much did it cost? If I missed it I apologize in advance.
you should enlarge one skylight and install an escape hatch, if your one exit is blacked you can still get out, in case of a fire or something.
This is one of the best van builds (box truck) that I have probably seen yet!!! I would really like to see Jason break down the costs of the van and the build itself.
You should have had Matt come by and make you a sign, too, lolz 🤣 Great van!! Very inspired.
Amazing job. If I didn't see it I would have never known. Now that's Stealth camping or living. ❤
Beautiful build! You may want to consider making the side door into a stealthy emergency egress hatch in case of fire up front.
I was thinking the same. You need another exit door in case of a fire! This is a death trap.
In another comment, Jason mentioned there was an escape hatch in the floor.
100%… it needs a secondary egress
@@BangBangBeefyMacNCheesy he has an escape hatch in the floor they forgot to show.
Interesting! Curious what country/City?
That is always a concern I would have if I went this route, so maybe magnetic signs you can remove that say "oscar's junk removal" would lessen someone wanting to break in.
@@fishxchip San Francisco
I was thinking about that, what if you’re sleeping in back and someone breaks in the front and tries to drive away?? Car theft in Chicago is off the charts but I don’t know if they typically steal this sort of thing. Need some sort of magnetic sign like asbestos removal or like someone said junk truck. I guess asbestos removal would still imply tools.
They break in and then you open the door and zap them with a stun gun or whack them with a bat. 😀 They will think twice next time.
Amazing. The vans, though cool, seem like they would always be a struggle to use full time due to size constraints, but this or step vans seem like a good compromise and provide (close to) normal studio apartment living.
Smart dude. Stealth is the most important part of van life.
Quick question please- after living in this amazing box truck for 2+ years- is there anything that you've found could be an improvement to your original design? Anything you'd change knowing what you know now? More solar power, etc? Yours is my fav stealth vid by far- Thank You!!
This is killer! Fantastic build! Thanks for bringing this Jarrod.
I would install windows on both sides of the Cab Over Bed and an large Overhead Opening Skylight to get fresh air when sleeping.
LMAO
That dude and his boxtruck are rad. Great interview JT!
Hmmmm?
Class b - really expensive here. Box trucks - nearly as much. Those small school buses are rare, but a good buy, because they are well maintained.
They probably don’t drive that well on gravel roads and such? I was wondering about that.
There’s a hug difference
1. It’s a cutaway van that depends on the box to stabilize the van body.
Box truck body is stable without the box. And would be Independant of the box
Cool... he's got a better kitchen than in my NYC studio lol
Better than my Chicago coach house for sure!
Okay, BS. I had a stealth box truck for about three years. I could not keep up with the graffiti "artists". The white walls are just too big a temptation. Didn't seem to matter WHERE I parked it.
Probably my favorite stealth build so far, awesome!
Fantastic Custom Design and build.. overall approximately how much from start to finish did you have to invest to make this dream come true. Thanks
G-E-N-I-U-S!!! 💡 The interior is so efficiently designed that it seems big. May your friend's fone ring off the hook for customers wanting him to build theirs!
Immobile apartments for rent in college parking lots everywhere…???
Park it near colleges and rent it out …
If it pays build more …
Awesome build. Love the stealth. I would install an emergency escape hatch toward the rear somewhere.
Roof. That way he keeps his stealth
Maybe in the future I will do a box truck or ambulance. I would love to have the space of a box truck, but not so sure about the mpg and parking. In my van I can still use a drive thru and park in most parking spots.
This is one of my favorite builds ever. Truly awesome, thank you!
It's beauitiful sir, have a good time and thank God for given you the mind to build a beauitiful living automobile space. God bless you. Amen.
Awesome build. I'm about half done with my box truck. I get in mine the same way! :)
Wow, this takes stealth camping to a new level. Does Steve Wallis know about this?
Wow that’s truly brilliant design!
