I have been drinking this smoothie for the past week and I already see a difference in my skin, as well as my gut health! Amazing! 😃 Just a side note: even though the packaging might say Pre Washed, Ready to Serve etc. it's always better to wash your greens with water and a little bit of white vinegar, just to be on the safe side. 💕

No you don't need to do that. And vinegar is used to clean my clients' mirrors and barhroom tiles.
I tried it with coconut milk and it was LITERALLY the best smoothie I've ever tried
I love it, I send your video to everyone I know. I make your recipe and I also make my version, 2 cups of spinach, 3/4 to 1 cup pure coconut water, 1/2 to whole lemon or lime (I prefer the flavor of lime), 1/2 chopped apple and 1/2 frozen banana. Frozen banana is the key for me because I think it makes the shake taste better colder.
Thanks for the smoothie. Me and my husband made this our routine every morning. But I do also add few mint leaves, and sometimes replace banana with kiwi or grapes. Its so good.
I have bought so many items you have recommended and I love them all. The cacao powder, Pow red lentil noodles, and the "ceylon" cinnamon (which taste really different from the regular one you would buy). I have lost 4 pounds and kept the weight off since your videos (it is not much BUT keeping the weight off is the important part of losing lbs). I follow fruit, starch, protein routine and it seems to be working along with balancing the fats etc. Without making this extremely long Dr. Vand I'm so thankful you started your channel. It is truly valuable information. I hate to sound like a fan lol but I genuinely love your channel and look forward to your videos. You are so beautiful and I'm so happy you decided to venture into youtube to help us gals/guys look and be our best. xoxo

I like it. Invest in manual lime/lemon juicer. That will prevent the seed from getting into the drink. Glass straws are wonderful.
I love the flavor. I put it in the freezer to get it cold and then re-blend.

I like this recipe but using Geoffrey Alan's method....start with liquid first in the blender and then fill it up to the top loosely with the greens...works like a charm n makes 2 servings.
I wish I could have juices or smoothies for breakfast but I wake up at 5:30 am and I live in a townhouse, my kitchen is wall to wall with my neighbor’s bedroom, and she can hear us. So no blender in respect for her... :/

Super late response but for anyone having this issue, just get a towel that you can cover the blender with. It will sound more like a hum than heavy machinery.

Been making this smoothie ever since you posted it! Love it sooo much! I have refined it a bit, I cut in half the coconut water and fruit and just put in 2 cups greens, very tolerable.
This is so good! I've been making it a few times a week for the last couple of months but I've slowly been adding a few other things to it like celery which I thought you mentioned, maybe in another video. I usually use arugula instead of kale and I now also add a teaspoon of Spirulina and sometimes Chlorella too. I usually add a scoop of Collagen. Sometimes I add Maca root powder and depending on what my plans are for the rest of the day, I occasionally add a clove of garlic!!
Makes total sense...are body is “rebooting” while we sleep! Definitely going to try this smoothie, seems simple enough for a beginner like me!

Hi Dr. Mona, I tried the green smoothie, didn't like, then, I tried blending kale and spinach after it was cooked for a few minutes so it wilted and then a couple minutes more, much better, I actually really liked it that way. Just a touch of soy sauce.

Everyone can actually do this. Information is everywhere. Consistency is key…that’s what separate great from average.

Hola Mona, I fall in love with your videos and the healthy smoothies and recommendations 👍🏻 One question here. My breakfast normally is a bowl of fruit “papaya, blueberries, banana and “chai seeds combined with almonds milk and flax oil, this overnight” I add some of this mix on top of my fruit in the morning, so my question is., can I drink this green smoothie after my bowl of fruit or should drink the smoothie first then the fruit? Please help 😊

I just made this smoothie and it does taste amazing! I did lightly steam my kale first though just for five minutes to break down the oxalic acid in it, Ive read that kale contains oxalic acid and this can be really bad for you if you have this every day raw and can upset your thyroid amongst other problems!?
Yes, you are right. I think Dr. Vand should make sure to disclose this risk to her audience and the way to address the oxalate issue. Too much oxalate over time can contribute to kidney stones. There are studies that support this. Not saying eating healthy is bad in fact eating plant based is the way to go! I totally feel you about following the recipe. I measure like an Italian, but I find when I do that with smoothies they are definitely inconsistent in terms of taste.

I drink a cup of Stockton Aloe 1 every morning with ginger turmeric, Stockton Aloe is amazing, but yes extremely expensive. This smoothie is like a lemon ginger blast smoothie, nice! Love it!!
Lindsey LaVida looked it up and this brand has no sodium benzoate as I read the following and have yet to find one without sodium bezoate! So thanks for the share!!!
Sodium benzoate / benzoic acid are used to prevent the growth of microorganisms in acidic foods. They are natural substances.
However, in beverages with ascorbic acid (vitamin C), a chemical reaction creates small amount of benzene, a carcinogen.
Lorena Espinoza yes Stockton Aloe is a raw beverage but they send it to you frozen, no preservatives. I bought it to heal my intestines after I had a severe infection. It has really helped to calm down inflammation. The owners of Stockton go in to detail in some videos about preservatives and how they destroy the helpful benefits of plants, so no preservatives. Most people prob won’t need this level of almost therapeutic Aloe, but for me it has really helped.

I have a question about the smoothie, you stated it should be fresh. Do you think its ok if I use frozen? I make frozen smoothie bags on a Sunday and pop them in a blender the night before to have it ready for the next morning.
