- SkyCal was overhead for a wild stolen car pursuit, which saw the suspect slam through an industrial gate, drive up to 100 miles per hour and eventually bail on foot before running into someone's home in the San Fernando Valley.
I might get myself a Prius. They're fast, unstoppable, and gas-savers 😊

No joke my wife uses Waze and a couple weeks ago that mf tried to have her drive down a bike path.
There needs to be better communications between air and ground units. It's frustrating as a viewer watching these clueless cops walk around.

Three things that I take from this video 1) The news anchors are WORTHLESS, and their ego won't let them not be the center of attention. All he did was basically tell us what the helicopter reporter said he just twisted the words. We don't need to be told what we already know, and they should just let the helicopter reporter handle the reporting. 2) For the San Fernando PD it was a "HOT TIME IN THE OLD TOWN TONIGHT" they have never had this much action or airtime and they wanted to live it up! 3) I thought the helicopter reporter was going to have a heart attack the way he described the driver going through the gate

These commentators are unbelievable. " I can't believe that guy who's running from the police would drive thru that gate like that and broke his windshield!!!" If you are running from the COPS, a windshield is the LEAST OF YOUR PROBLEMS. There men who are talking are so ignorant that it is TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

The only reason a Prius is slow is there's a lot of restrictive software sets up the fuel maps all that kind of stuff. So it's two ways you can get out of that, the Prius has a power button and what that does is it links up the electric motor with the gas motor and the electric motor just stays on and so it gives you a 40 horse boost. The other thing you can do is put the Prius into certification mode. What you do is you push the power button once to get it into accessory mode then in park you press the gas pedal slowly three times, shift the neutral, press the gas pedal three times again slowly, put it back into park gas pedal three times again slowly. You should see something come up on the dash that says certification mode. Now press the brake and start it as normal It should continue to say it's inconcertification mode. All the restrictive stuff in the software is gone, the Prius is a 1.8 l motor plus it's got that electric motor which is basically like 40 horse of NOS.

Your news anchors could really do with some training. They have no idea about airbags and how they become deployed. No idea about laminated windscreens/windshields. Most have no idea about tyres, rims and wheels and the difference between them. No idea about the delamination of tyres. And this particular news anchor was about as boring as watching paint dry.

LAPD IRRESPONSIBLE CHASES

When we see the live coverage of the LAPD chasing a stolen vehicle on TV, we hear the narrator of the event, passionately injecting excitement and drama to the ongoing episode as the persuit is in progress. It seems as if all that morbo is purposely directed to the potbelly couch people.
Every move, every close call, and every sign indicating the car thief may give up and surrender to the police, is narrated by the tabloid talking heads like a football championship match. But when the chase turns crazy and the stolen vehicle and the procession of police squads behind it, put the pedal to the metal to reach wreckless speeds, the reporters create the needed suspense and excitement to keep alive the interest of their TV channel viewers. It's as if they expect a deadly collision or for the thief to end up shot dead.
These movie-like police chases are good for the TV shows but not for the innocent people who get killed and badly injured in those irresponsible persuits.
An educated guess tells us that those officers involved in the chase are enjoying the rush of adrenaline provoked by the high speed trailling of a scaping criminal, stimulating their the idea of being seen on TV. They also imagine the rooting of their families and how proud they feel about them. Some of those police officers may also forsee the possibility of a commendation award that could catapult them to a long craved promotion. Not far from that same train of thought we could rest assured that those police officers involved in the chasings suffer from severe psychosis of fear, never away from their guns, even when they are in bed
These high speed processions of squad cars, amid the flying police and TV stations helicopters, have sadden the lives of many families who have lost their love ones as a result of the LAPD officers crazy persuit of a stolen vehicle.
The cost of funerals, hospitalization, rehabilitation of the injured and restitution of property damage, are not part of the expected conscientious work of the LAPD. Their mere goal is to catch the criminal dead or alive, caring very little about the collateral damage, but the Los Angeles population at large, demands for those irresponsible police chases to stop-- now. FSLN

The airbags would not have gone off because the gate bars hit the car above the front fender area where the sensors are. As evidenced by the lack of damage to the vehicles front end or hood but extensive damage to the windshield and A pillars

LAPD cruisers need to be upgraded, we often see them being overrun by KIAs, Volkswagens, Toyotas.... iThey're not what they used to be. And neither are the officers.
