Hi Lui, I managed to copy into my book yesterday The Undead Gentleman from your short show.
I had to watch repeatedly to get the recipe right and I am now enjoying it almost exactly to your recipe.
I used Goslings 151 for my op.
It is indeed a complex but delicious cocktail, served in a double old fashioned glass with a rock & half of ice.
I guess you are so busy with your restaurant/bar that you find little time to make longer shows now. I have now been retired 2.25 years and thoroughly enjoy my drinks, with an ample notebook and 3 cocktail books and a phone app as well. Rarely do I make the same drink twice in succession but do have a lot of favourites which I frequently make.
How about the football? My team are again playing better than yours though who knows how the season will end.

@lui_fern Great interview! Love your content. I really liked Guy’s idea of expanding the channel to include more of your restaurant biz. Your take on spirits & cocktails has always been super helpful. And to me it seems like you have an advantage over the other Cocktail RUclipsrs - who mostly host channels detached from the real world environment of a bar or restaurant (most cater to home bartenders). I don’t know if it would help your numbers, but I would enjoy if you folded in your restaurant/bar experience. Things like food pairings w cocktails/spirts & why they work together. Or tips on ordering cocktails at a bar - do’s & don’t’s, how to get respect from a seasoned bartender, how to order to avoid pre-made mixes, etc.
Again, love your channel. Always playing your vids at the liquor store to make sure I get quality tequila & mezcal. Thanks! 🥃

You speak the TRUTH regarding the perception of cachaça in the USA. I am your flip side as I am an American by birth but Brasileiro by choice. I live in Southern Brasil now for many years. I found your channel because of your pinga content and appreciated it . . . but Americans, somehow thankfully, will not embrace cachaça. I am happy that they "don't get it" as I can drink a nice puro bottle from an artesanal producer for $10 bottle or bump it up to their velha products with 16 or more years on it at a cost of less than $120 for my favorite Armazem Vieira Topazio (32 years old) bottle. I appreciate that you took the risk on telling the story but I am happy Americans want to purchase celebrity tequila instead.
As for your interview of Guy Fieri . . . I enjoyed it immensely. I enjoyed that he and Mister Hagar did not sell out and are staying with an artesanal producer making field to still products . . . traditional and that fusion with mezcal. Parabéns Lui pra tudo e esse video, meu amigo ! ! !

So true. I live in the South splitting my time between Porto Alegre and Florianópolis. We have several 100 distillers here. I hear that Brasil has more than 8000 artesian distillers and I would believe it at a minimum. Novo Fogo is not seen here but I have, like you visited their distillery in Paraná. I have also spent a month driving in Minas doing a Mineiro Cachaça Pilgrimage . . . dropped by a few in SP and RJ. The cachaça scene is the equal major whiskey centers of the world . . . Maybe we will be the mezcal of the or not. I am starting to distill my own whiskey here as I miss a fine bourbon and rye as they are tough to find here and the cost is stupid. Well, at least I can use my degrees in chemistry to get my quality level up quickly. Keep up the good work, meu bruxo. (gaúchese for trusted and respected friend)@@Lui_Fern

Lui . . . take your time there is a new movement of mineiro fusion going on with the dining scene in MG and there is the cheese, feijoada and cachaça with the churrasco (My wife a Gaúcha tells me to remind you that RS has the best churrasco) . . . @@Lui_Fernwait, I’m in Austin Texas and can’t fine it anywhere. When I want my fortaleza fix I go to a mezcal bar and get a shot to sip on. How could I word asking to buy a bottle? I always see their backstock and see multiple bottles.

@@PeenTip Bars in Texas aren't allowed to sell bottles to take off-site per Texas liquor laws sadly. I think restaurants can do beer and wine for delivery since 2020 lockdowns.

Hey Lui - if you ever wanted to delve into the tequila industry, hit me up. I'd put my money (as others would I'm sure) behind your knowledge and passion to bring a quality product to market.

I don't think I ever would tbh. There are way too many tequila brands, some with hundreds of years of history doing this, and I'd rather speak about their stories. I also can't criticize celebrities for getting into the game for money and then release my own. If I ever do a tequila it will be in partnership with someone I really respect and trust and it would be a special limited release that would benefit charity.
