I legit did not mean to post this at midnight... It was supposed to go out next week. Once i was able to make a Thumbnail for it and not post too much this week. ANYWAY haha here it is!
Also I filmed this video a month and a half ago. I found out yesterday that Primo will no longer be made at El Pandillo. So i am not sure about the quality going forward. So maybe disregard that one for now until we see what they do next?

Hey Lui. Love your content. The standard Cascahuin sadly has gone up from the low $30s on the shelf to about $55 now in Northern California. It's a great product, but I don't know if it can compete with Fortaleza at the same pricepoint. Cascahuin has absolutely become a favorite distillery of mine, but I too am starting to look towards Lagrimas, Wild Common, Siembra Valles, and a few others that have access to 1123

I'm going to be going to Mexico, specifically Puerto Morelos, just south of Cancun, in May. I know this may be difficult to answer but is there anything I should be looking for while there? Meaning maybe things that aren't available here? I'd like to bring back a couple few different bottles if my budget, and suitcase, allows. I'm in Michigan so what I can get is different from what you can get there in Mass.

Funny enough, 6 months later, both El Ateo and Corrido are available at my local Total Wine AND they are Spirits Direct (so literally the only GOOD tequila on S.D.). Bout the El Ateo Blanco and Repo and I quite enjoy them, especially at the far more affordable price of $50 and $57 respectively. Thanks to this video Lui, I was able to recognize them and purchased with confidence. Salud!🥃

So I like tequila. We'll So i thought.
I get margaritas when dining. Love them!
So I figured "I need to step up my game".
After watching this guy's videos, I got excited!.
Went out and bought 4 different tequilas that he rated highly.
Got my family together, and we had a blind taste test.
    Well here were our conclusions:
Straight tequila is disgusting, doesn't matter what kind it is.
The only palatable tequila is in fact, the crappie ones with all the additives and crap!
We concluded that anyone who who enjoys drinking tequila that is not part of a "cocktail" either has a problem with there tastebuds, or they enjoy what is actually hideous.
Straight tequila is traditionally precluded with salt, and followed up with citrus for a reason. Because it tastes NASTY by itself, just like most other spirits! That's a fact!
Nobody drinks vodka solo, for a reason. Why? Because it's NASTY by itself.
Most all spirits are this way. There are few exceptions.
Even dirty martinis "are cocktails", mixed w other things.
For the same reason that salt only tastes good with "other things", and not by itself, so it is with spirits, including tequila. Put a teaspoon of just salt in your mouth. Does that taste good? No, never!
So, upon this realization, I started a new experiment.
I like tequila in cocktails, it's disgusting otherwise.
Sipping tequila, really? If you do this, your tastebuds are dead!
    I.have "subdued " tastebuds. I'm not a super-taster. I can eat a raw lemon, and not cringe.
But, any spirits not in cocktails are hideous. If you think they taste good ,we'll I think your nuts.
So the new experiment was to make cocktails with these different tequilas and see how it went.
Turns out what happens w straight, carries over in the cocktail.
In our taste test, for example an A rated Tequila Ocho, was horribly sharp w bad aftertaste. Same in our margs! Less subtle but not good!
The B rated tres aquave, which tastes like "salt water straight, did much better in a marg.
Margs do well w "salt" that balances the other ingredients so it was a better combo.
Bottom line, is sipping spirits is silly. It's like women wearing high heels for looks at the expense of comfort!
    That's just silly.
Folks get away w sipping bourbon and scotch only because the glass is full of ice watering it down enough to make it palatable.
    Stop kidding yourself folks.
In conclusion, don't do what I did.
Try different tequilas in the cocktails, and go with what tastes best to you.
If you have a marg and love it, ask them what tequila and the mix ratio and enjoy a goods treat and stop doing the high heels fooling yourself already!!
    Peace.

You're arrogant. You need to learn to speak for yourself. Hopefully what you wrote was tongue in cheek, but I don't think it was. Just because your pedestrian taste buds aren't refined enough to sip a fine tequila doesn't mean that others aren't capable and can't enjoy it. Enjoy your cocktails and spritzers. 👎
