u should totally look into "renewing" braids, it's oiling the scalp, gelling ur parts so they look clean again, and cutting off stray hairs from the braids
It takes a lot of patience to wear a style that takes hours to put in and hours to take out. I applaud you because there is no way I could do that. Plus I'm just too tender-headed to get braids installed.
Taking out knotless braids is so much better than the old traditional box braids. The hair does not tangle nearly as much at the base. I used to have whole strands of hair break off with traditional braids
I wanna try butterfly locs next time. However, for any braid style i am definitely going to be doing knotless braids from now on. Loved how light and flexible they are!
I use those same tools plus a pillow. The process causes me to have to rest my arms somewhere to not feel worn out because of the length of time it takes. I shift the pillow to the side I'm doing at the time. I also use my fingers and a comb. to get the braids undone. I love taking a brake from combing my hair, but taking them out is a pain. I rather watch you do yours.☺👍🏽
Your braids were still looking good after 2 months🌟🌟. I want to braid my hair again but I am terrified of the takedown process. This video was a well needed one, my roots were matted the last time I got braids….🙄😒
Hey, i don't know how you guys called it but i use a tail comb to take my braids down ( i think it might be faster than with the kind of comb you were using in this video) And for my hair i just put a mix of oil + some water and wait for the next day to brush it and i don't have that much breakage. ( Sorry for the mistakes i'm French). Btw your hair is bomb, May i have some 🙂? Just asking. Lol
When the roots are matted, used a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water to help loosen/removed the build up! Then apply condition until it's time to water 💦 it...
I began my hair journey in January of 2021 when I did a big chop since then it is only protective styles I rock but my hair is still not retaining length can u teach me some does an dont that will guide me along the way...i really need some help doing this journey...depending on you... almost forgotten your hair is top very nice keep up the good and hard work girl.
My hair isn’t as long as the braids so I cut the braids to a little below where my hair is to make it faster to take down. I love using water after, it helps with the breakage. Sometimes if I get a build up knot that is too thick, I’ll use detangler too. Specifically the “ knot away “ leave in by creme of nature… thank me later 😘
The only thing I don’t look forward to with braids is the take out because it’s time consuming 😣. I’ll try using a comb for the ends because I sometimes run into tangles.
Key PATIENCE PATIENCE AND MORE PATIENCE lol thank you so much for this because I am dreading taking down my crochet braids 3 months and I have about 3-4 inches of new growth. getting my spray bottle and condtioner out I've got some work to do, YOUR HAIR IS BEAUTIFUL
I wish I would have seen this before I took down my hair a couple weeks ago I ended up with broken uneven hair. ... But I got my braids back in and hopefully I'll be able to better maintain them this time around.
I like how your braids were done!! 😊😊I’m looking for a nice and professional salon to have braids installed in my hair. Would you happen to recall the salon you got your hair done at??? Thanks
Hey Shanique, I love my hair in braids but the take down is the worse LOL No its not that bad just time consuming. I just use either some water and conditioner or a leave in to take down my braids.
Thank you cause I was wondering why mine get so tangled up. I was talking them out and then just stuck my head under the water. I looked like a hurricane 😂thank you sweetie
Thank you. No usually I leave it for 7-8 weeks. I only left it for 3 months a couple of times. I believe I did that when I was pregnant or really busy.
@@ShaniqueBuntyn I'm also trying to decide on a protective style for vacation and for my birthday is a month after. But one that would last especially with the heat right now
I HATE taking out my box braids but you kept them so fresh for 2 months! That’s incredible mine never look that good after that long 😭

Amazing!! I'm impressed by the little hair you lost. To everyone reading this, Jesus loves you.
I was surprised as well. I didn’t do anything different. I usually lose a lot more hair.
Jesus loves you too❣️
Mega glacier bande dessinée
I actually use conditioner, it helps to moisturized your hair while also helping the hair to slide right out 😁
I have to try that’

@@crishnaholmes7730 I wear a WnG probably 90% of the time, and an updo or wrap the rest of the time.

Lord I couldn’t imagine taking out braids with hair as long as yours ! The best part of taking out braids for me is cutting lots of the length off lol
😂😂😂 I totally relate with this

Never heard of using a comb! Will definitely be using this for my take down. I am taking mine out in 2 more weeks. It will be 2 months for me then.
Glad it was helpful!

mousse works like a charm in separating our hair after braids.
Do you just spray it in
@@crishnaholmes7730 yes, or run it in your hands.

Love the video ! I’ll be sure to use some of these tips on my next video ❤
I do my braids myself, so I re-do them when they start growing out, using the same method. I don't experience a lot of build up because of this.
That’s smart to do!
That was dope, thank you for always sharing important information.
No problem 👍

i have one on my channel ill add it to the description
Thanks for sharing! What conditioner do you use for this takedown?
Thank you! I have no idea what I used lol but any conditioner will work. Just make sure to wet each section first.

How soon to install braids again after taking them down?
2 weeks
Your hair is so long and beautiful
Thank you
Your braids still look good. You used to leave your braids for three months. How comes you only kept them for two months?
Thank you. No usually I leave it for 7-8 weeks. I only left it for 3 months a couple of times. I believe I did that when I was pregnant or really busy.
You're welcome. Oh that's a reasonable time. Do you plan on reinstalling the braids any time soon or give your hair a break for the summer?
Definitely want to install again. We’ll see what happens

How much hair did you lose in total?
How many strands? Not sure. What I lost on one side in the video, I lost about the same on the other.
Hey which braids do you like best knotless or box braids? Which one you think last the longest ?
They last the same time to me. I prefer knotless
I think it's a lot easier for people with straight hair like 1 or 2a maybe
I don’t have straight hair 🤷🏽♀️
@@ShaniqueBuntyn I have😁
My hair always gets tangled and knotted. I had to cut my hair because I could not deal with the knots. 😢
Thanks for making the video!
I can relate to doing the hair in between taking care of the baby 😩
Try using a rat tail comb next time it’ll be much easier!!
Thanks for the tip!
Instead of a conditioner or leave in, can you use hair oil or mousse?
Conditioner would be best. Mousse is a definite no.
You can try water and oil
